Yonkers: Monday 7/16 Analysis

Best Bet: SAULSBROOK LANNY (10th)
Spot Play: BET ON SUCCESS (4th)
MEET STATS: 268 - 783 / $1,503.90
BEST BETS: 37 - 66 / $122.20
Race 1
(5) TITANIUM N is yet another Down-under import who looked good qualifying and is worth a look at first asking though this is a pretty competitive field for NW2. (4) ALI closed with plenty last week; needs to be closer. (3) MOUNT ROYAL raced just evenly in Excelsior action and was Bartlett's choice.
Race 2
(3) PRINCESS HOLLY N took care of business upon arrival and should be able to handle these. (1) CARLO'S SUPERSTAR returns locally for Allard but has missed a few weeks after that failed try in the Lynch; filly is clearly the biggest threat to the top choice. (5) SOMEANGELSOMEWHERE hasn't done much in her brief career for Alagna but she's been finishing with good last quarters over the bigger tracks.
Race 3
(6) CAPTAIN AMERICA ships in for Burke off an even effort at The Meadowlands and he finds a pretty soft spot. (4) MISTER SPECIAL T was given a look last week and didn't do much sitting the rail after taking no money; shows more tonight? (5) NATIVE'S BEST BET has some early speed at his disposal which could set him up nicely from this spot.
Race 4
(1) BET ON SUCCESS was handled aggressively in his second local start and despite coming up a bit short it was a much better effort; Lance Hudson trainee may be rounding into top form. (3) SUDDENLY SAM ships in for Erv Miller off a big upset score at Pocono and a repeat of that effort makes him tough. (7) BROOKIES PRINCE N has missed some time off a sick scratch and is tough to get excited about at 8/5 morning line.
Race 5
(1) ALBERGO HANOVER has looked super in two Yonkers starts for very sharp connections; winning the draw makes him the one to beat. (6) AVATAR J held off the top choice when they last met but it may be tougher to repeat with the post positions flip flopped tonight. (2) WESTERN PASSAGE ships down from Canada for Casie Coleman and is clearly the 'X' factor here.
Race 6
(6) STONEBRIDGE HONEY was my pick last out and raced very well to be second best at 20/1; mare should offer a nice price again tonight in a field with no standouts. (7) CARLY GIRL had a tough time overcoming the eight hole last week and is stuck outside again; she would probably be a cinch here from an inside post. (1) ESCAPE AGAIN has hit the board in her last three and should do so again tonight.
Race 7
(1) MELANIE'S FILLY and (6) COVEREDNDIAMONDS N meet up again but top billing has to go to the Allard trainee with the post edge. (3) CLASSY CHAPEL N is better than she's been showing and she could add some value underneath.
Race 8
(6) VALRHONA has been very sharp in all recent races and the change to Brennan won't hurt. (3) MR PROFETA has been holding his own in stakes company; this is likely a better spot. (1) MCTHIRSTY has had aim for a better result in his last few but needs to fire with more late; use underneath.
Race 9
(6) ODDS ON DELRAY was a devastating winner last out drawing off in 1:51 flat; Alagna trainee should repeat as the heavy chalk. (4) NOX VEGAS BLUECHIP has raced pretty well in his last three versus some more seasoned foes. (1) LUCBOBSKI rallied well last out for a share.
Race 10
(1) SAULSBROOK LANNY has been super in his four local starts and can be excused for his last two where he had tough trips on the rim; Bartlett should take control here and never look back. (7) GILLYS BOY won upon arrival for Burke and has to be respected. (2) KEYSTONE PHOENIX is quietly having a nice season for Schnittker and will be close up throughout from this spot.
