Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) SOMETHING REEL qualified very well at Gaitway Farms on June 24. I'll hope that she can carry that into tonight's pari-mutuel contest and deliver the goods. (5) RHODATOLDME has picked up a couple thirds in her last two since joining this class. Probably easier foes this time. (2) ODDS ON MARIA gets a greatly improved post to work with tonight after being stuck with post six and post seven since the qualifier.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(5) FLYHAWK EL DIABLO found his winning ways up at Monticello and now ships back down to Yonkers. Was decent back in May here in this same class and then NW6. (1) WINNERESS might be the one to beat here dropping to the bottom level. Was favored against NW14000L5 company down at Harrah's Philly on 5-16, and obviously this is much easier than that. (4) WHITE PANTS FEVER tried to bottom out the field with a speed mission last Monday but tired badly. Maybe that tightened her up some as she gets another crack against this class.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(5) BURNING DESIRE joined the Allard barn for his most recent try but was stuck with post seven at Saratoga and never got involved. Has had some time off since that race, but meets up with the right group here, I think. Note that the winner of that race up at Saratoga, Passa-Grille Beach, has won two straight at Yonkers since. (3) ASTAIRE is now 0-for-17 in his career but did close in for a good second to the red-hot Rock The Devil last Monday, and this certainly isn't the strongest group I've seen. (1) FAST ON THE DRAW receives big-time post relief tonight, sliding from the seven-hole to the pole position. Another one who was a solid second to a runaway winner lately.
Race 4 - F&M NW2/26000LT Pace
(3) SWEET MOVES was sensational last Monday night, taking the lead from first-over and drawing away with ease. Gets another chance to compete at this level, so I'll go with her to double up, though she won't be 13-1 again. (2) COROMANDEL stepped up to the Sire Stakes and Excelsior Series A level since Allard took over the training. Changes to the NW2 at Yonkers tonight and gets a much better post than the eight-hole she had at Tioga. (5) PRIVACY HANOVER had every chance last week and couldn't finish it off. Could certainly win as she stays in against NW2 company, but I'll try and beat her.
Race 5 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(4) ARRHYTHMIC STORM perked up with a better effort a week ago, closing well for second. Slides in a couple notches on the starting gate tonight and that gives Marohn Jr. some additional options as far as strategy. (3) JOJO'S PLACE will probably get bet off the fourth-place finish in the Excelsior A Series last time out but note he hasn't won in 17 career starts. (8) MOUNTAIN HIGH gives Yonkers another try tonight after picking up a couple checks at Harrah's Philadelphia but is saddled with the outside.
Race 6 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(7) TOPVILLE ANGELINA strolled to a win at this level on June 17. Does draw much worse tonight going out to post seven but retained Bartlett's services. (5) CORAL BELLA scored a third last Monday in her Yonkers debut and could perform better with a trip over the track. Also has an improved post to work with. (3) TRIPLE DIP appears to have been a private purchase for Allard. Steps up from NW2 to NW4 tonight but has been hot with three straight victories.
Race 7 - NW4/50000LT Pace - $10K GTD Pick 5
(3) ROAN COLOR battled tenaciously from first-over last Monday but could only finish evenly. Draws well again tonight at the same class level. (1) BLANK CANVAS gives Yonkers a try tonight as he searches for the right track and company. Had little chance on 6-23 down at Harrah's Philadelphia when saddled with post eight. (6) CAPTAIN DISOMMA is another Harrah's Philly invader. Was racing well down there against NW3's and is coming off a convincing victory.
Race 8 - NW10000L5 Pace
(7) BLACK CHEVRON N double-drops in class tonight, going from NW30000L5 to NW10000L5. Obviously the draw didn't go his way but he hit the board in the preferred as recently as May 11th here, so he would seem to have a class edge. (2) WARMINSTER A jumps up with a good race against these sometimes and draws a much better post for this opportunity. (1) RUN ONEOVER N cut the fractions and just got picked off in the final quarter for the second straight race on 6-22. Has the pole again tonight, so he'll probably be on the engine again.
Race 9 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(1) SCWARTZ BROS BEATY got an acclimating mile over the track a week ago from post eight, finishing with plenty of pace, and now draws post one tonight. Jordan Stratton takes over in the bike with Brent Holland not here. (5) CHARMS LITTLE SIS had no problem with the step up to this level last time out, knocking off the classy Shebang N in the process. Bartlett did hop off tonight, but Sears takes over. (7) SHES PUKKA N is where Bartlett wound up after a facile victory last Monday against the NW4 class. Takes the step up tonight, but I don't see that being much of an issue.
Race 10 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(3) DA DELIGHTFUL saw his winning streak ended on June 17 when he couldn't make front, but he does get post three rather than post six for this race, and we'll hope he gets right back to the winner's circle. (1) IDEAL FLIP has been doing well over at Pocono and ships east tonight. Has raced in Westchester before as you can see on the page. (5) HANDSOFFMYCHIPS comes back north tonight after winning at Harrah's Philadelphia most recently. Good second behind the well-meant Benhope Rulz N at Yonkers on June 10.
Race 11 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(4) DANCIN DRAGON stuck to the pylons last week and closed in the stretch. Gets a new driver tonight with Dexter Dunn going in the bike, and hopefully he'll be able to get off the inside. (3) WHOS BETTER might have needed the race last week coming off the sick scratch. Was performing well at Pocono in prior appearances. (2) DISMISSAL SLIP retained Brennan tonight. Does move up the class ladder some but offsets that by getting an inside post.
Race 12 - NW20000L5 Pace
(6) STARS ALIGN A gets the drop back to his favorite level tonight. Been closing hard against better, so I think he's still in good form, but I think we'll see Dube fire him to the front tonight. (3) TECHTOR HANOVER got pounded at the windows and delivered with a romp on 6-18. Gets another chance to race against NW20000L5's types, but I'll go elsewhere. (2) PERFECTLY CLOSE knocked off $40,000 claimers in his last try and now switches to condition company. Has appeared at this class before and was third back on May 10.
