Yonkers: Monday 6/26 Analysis

Matt Rose|Jun 23, 2017
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: VERY SPECIAL AGENT (3rd)

Spot Play: PACING MAJOR N (9th)

MEET STATS: 225 - 637 / $1,302.10

BEST BETS: 30 - 55 / $103.20

Race 1

(7) QUEEN TO ME raced well last out in minor stakes action at The Meadows and now Zeron returns on the Alagna trainee. (2) GYPSY ROSE hasn't done much in two NYSS tests but at least she draws well and keeps Bartlett. (6) ABSOLUTELY BEST broke in her lone local appearance and was well bet that night.

Race 2

(5) ASHLEE'S SPITFIRE was a Lismore participant although without much success; there really isn't anyone in here to get excited about. (7) TWIN B ONAROLL switches to the Rob Harmon barn, could show improvement. (3) ROLL WITH ANN took a soft Excelsior field down the road last out at Vernon.

Race 3

(2) VERY SPECIAL AGENT has stakes experience for the Julie Miller barn and may be a touch faster than these. (5) THE WALL ships in for Takter and deserves obvious respect. (1) JIMMY WINTIPS does have a local win at this level from an inside post.

Race 4

(1) ROCK N ROLL RUDY makes his seasonal debut off a series of qualifiers and should be ready to go for the Alagna barn. (4) BAG PIPE MAJOR seemed a bit overmatched in an NYSS race last week but was a good second the start prior. (5) HUMBOLDT hasn't shown much but may be best of the rest.

Race 5

(7) SWEETEST EMOTION has been very sharp since returning for her 3-year-old campaign and I expect Brennan to be firing from the gate looking for position. (1) AWASH is another well bred Alagna youngster who should show more from this spot. (3) TOUCHMATIC returns locally off a win at Vernon and she raced well here in a start last month.

Race 6

(3) NORTHWEST YANKEE has been racing effectively out of town and he looks like yet another shipper on this card who should go well here. (1) APLIN HANOVER hit the ticket in his two local starts last month. (7) POINT ELSEWHERE is a recent addition to the Jeff Gregory barn and we've seen these horses have success.

Race 7

(4) NURSERY ED has raced better in his last two and faces a field here with question marks; worth a look in a race where it's tough to take anyone at a short price. (5) ANDY'S IDEAL was an easy winner when last here and he's the one to beat but won't offer any value. (3) HORSING AROUND was a good winner up at Saratoga but he's missed time off a scratched-sick.

Race 8

(6) PRINCESS FABULOSA has looked very sharp in his two 2017 efforts and she should be able to take another here. (2) WISHY WASHY GIRL resurfaces now in the Banca barn and she qualified effectively off a nice freshman season. (3) MEGYN K was dull last out but he prior efforts were good.

Race 9

(5) PACING MAJOR N is another Tritton import who made good money as a 3-year-old and still fits this conditioned class; ignore that 15/1 morning line. (6) HYPOTHETICAL didn't show much in his local appearance last month but his last three have been good. (1) WESTERN TYRANT should be close up throughout.

Race 10

(3) NOCTURNAL BLUECHIP raced well enough in his two local appearances last month without a victory to show for it and the DiDomenico trainee returns seemingly in a live spot. (2) BEACH OGRE moves to a new barn despite being very sharp (hmmm...wonder why?) and Bartlett's back driving. (4) WINDSONG NAPOLEON goes second-time Lasix, may show improvement.

Race 11

(1) FROG POND PRINCESS moves up to this NW8 class after taking two straight and she should be in line for another live trip. (4) NORTHERN SOIREE is a recent addition to the Harmon barn and she gets needed post relief. (6) WALK TWO MOONS has looked very good in her three local appearances.

Race 12

(2) MR D'S DRAGON has shown high speed out of town for Christian Lind, who seems to know what he's doing in the bike. (5) CULTURAL PARADISE closed well last week in a NYSS event at Vernon and looked super here in prior starts. (8) ROLL AWAY JOE is a fringe stakes player for Burke but he's missed some time and is stuck outside; use caution.
