Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(8) PRIVACY HANOVER competed in a Lismore elim and the final and then raced in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes in her last three, so NW2 at Yonkers is a much more reasonable spot, even from post eight. Bartlett/Blackler duo has been hot lately too. (4) RHODATOLDME followed the well-meant Lounatic a week ago and held third. Let's see if she can find a bit more tonight. (5) MISS REAL IDEAL grabbed a third in Westchester two back at this level. Never really involved when stuck with post eight at Pocono last time.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(6) WHITE PANTS FEVER hasn't had much impact on the local scene since shipping in but drops to the bottom condition level and adds Dexter Dunn. That could be enough to give her the wake-up call. (1) ROSSINI put in a big effort from post seven two weeks ago to just miss. Gets some major post relief tonight while staying in against the same company. (4) ANNAPOLIS HALL won when last seen in this class, so even though he's off form, this is a spot where he can get involved.
Race 3 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(6) LOVERS COVE turned in a solid second-place effort behind the well-meant Triple Dip last Monday night, proving that the win from the week before wasn't just a one-time thing. Bartlett/Blackler again. (5) FIFI TINKERBELL switched up tactics to off-the-pace in another division of this class a week ago and rallied strongly. Draws well if that's the plan Marohn Jr. has in mind again. (1) STORM SURVIVOR finished behind Lovers Cove last week after coming first-up. Gets the pole tonight, so let's see if Sears puts her on the point.
Race 4 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(2) ROCK THE DEVIL was outstanding in his Yonkers debut last time, extending his win streak to five. Gets an inside post tonight and stays at the same class too. (8) SHANGHAI BOBBY picked up a second and a third in his last two in the Excelsior Series A, so even from the outside, that makes him interesting. Burke now training. (5) COOL YOUR HEELS set the fractions but was no match in the end for Rock The Devil a week ago. Bartlett's choice of two in the race.
Race 5 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) SHADOWOFTHENORTH ships down from Canada into the Harris barn tonight. Was being trained (and is owned) by Woodbine Mohawk Park track announcer Ken Middleton. Appears to catch the right field where he might be able to make an impact. (2) WINKWINKNUDGENUDGE didn't have much chance a week ago when saddled with post seven. Gets post two to work with tonight. Effort two back at Harrah's Philly was solid, and the horse who won that race, Scrub Hanover, was second at the Meadowlands in his next start. (4) OREN got left in the wake of the runaway winner Passa-Grille Beach last Monday. This field appears to be easier.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Pace
Speaking of (1) PASSA-GRILLE BEACH, here he is, stepping up to NW4 after that romp over NW2's in his debut for Cullipher. Does lose Bartlett tonight, as he stayed loyal to trainer Richie Banca on another horse, but the way this guy has been going, I'll stick with him. (2) ROAN COLOR hasn't had a chance to show much for Lance Hudson since he took over the training with a break and then a tour of the track from post eight. Post relief tonight and hopefully he can stay on-stride. (3) LUCK N ROLL K has been rallying for shares lately as he's been switching venues.
Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace - $10K GTD Pick 5
(1) ROLLIN WITHHOLLY A debuts from Down Under tonight for the Bongiornos. Second qualifier at Gaitway looks good, and maybe we'll get a bit of a price. (7) SHES PUKKA N overcame post eight last Monday very well to get second in this class. Switches to Bartlett tonight. (3) CAROUSEL hasn't won this year but has been racing well in Pennsylvania with four seconds in NW3 and then a solid fourth in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes.
Race 8 - NW20000L5 Pace
(5) TREMENDOUS PLAY rallied through the final quarter after trailing from post eight on 6-15. Receives some post relief tonight, and stays at the NW20000L5 class. Closed strongly to get second behind the classy Great Vintage at this level on 5-20. (2) MCSPIDEY didn't get bet on 6-15, but finished stoutly to get second. Reunited with Stratton tonight from post two. (7) LUCIANO N has been the runner-up in higher classes in his last two appearances in Westchester, but will have to overcome a difficult post tonight.
Race 9 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(3) SHEBANG N ended up with a difficult trip last Monday, having to go three-wide at the half and still finished a strong second. I'll hope Bartlett can get her a smoother journey tonight. (7) DEMI HILL made it five straight wins a week ago by toppling the NW4's, but has to step up tonight and draws outside. (4) SO LONG DARLING had everything her way on the front-end last week but had to settle for second. Might have to go back to following horses and seeing if she can close.
Race 10 - NW10000L5 Pace
(2) OUR ZAK WHITBY A got parked out on 6-15, extending his slide since winning on April 15. Receives some additional class relief and changes drivers to Dexter Dunn for this try, so I'll hope that gets him back on the right foot. (4) CINNAMACK invades from Ohio for Virgil Morgan Jr. tonight and picks up Sears in the bike. Appears he caught the right type of field to make an immediate impact. (3) RAINBOW ROMANCE N rallied to get the win at this level on June 13 and gets the chance to race at it again.
Race 11 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) AMERICAN ADMIRAL remains in search of his first win since taking a Reynolds split back on 5-11. Has run into DA Delightful a couple times at this level and hit the board behind him, and gets away from him tonight. (6) MR PROFETA closed to get third in this class two starts back. Has been performing well since returning. (4) JUST PLAIN LOCO really didn't have much to offer last week, but hopefully that was just a one-week occurrence and he can complete the ticket tonight.
Race 12 - NW8/100000LT / NW6 Drawn Inside Pace
(2) DANCIN DRAGON wound up with post seven last week and turned in a solid speed try for fourth behind a couple good ones. Much better post tonight to make his job getting to the front easier. (7) TWIN B TUFFENUFF has plenty of early foot to overcome this post like he did a week ago when he was third in the same race as my top pick. Been sharp for a while. (5) WHOS BETTER scratched last week, so that is a concern. Raced very well in Pennsylvania against formidable foes like Turbo Hill.
