Yonkers logo

MEET STATS: 90 - 360 / $612.50

BEST BETS: 11 - 40 / $41.00

Best Bet: ESCAPE THE NEWS (11th)

Spot Play: HALL OF TERROR (6th)

Race 1

(1) MINTILISCIOUS seems to be coming around. Gelding did flash some speed in his last trip so maybe the rail post could help his cause. (4) OK IMAGINE comes by way of Saratoga. Did not fire from the 8-hole last out but should find door number four to his liking. (3) ROLL WITH FRED put in an even qualifier at the Meadowlands last time around so he might contend with these.

Race 2

(2) CHEYENNE TRIENGEL was sharp in victory down the road as the 1/2 chalk recently. Pacing filly looks to be the speed of the speed so two straight is clearly not out of the question. (6) SELFIE was sitting in the pocket most of the way and could not get to the top pick last out but is still a threat in here. (1) SEA ROSE had some trouble turning for home but she still was a good third in her latest.

Race 3

(2) ROLLING GOING GONE showed good late punch two starts back and this filly should find this group to her liking and a favorable trip could put her right into the winner's circle. (1) SOUTHWIND MISCHIEF raced evenly for the show spot last time around so she might do better from the fence. (4) MACS SECURE closed outside to nail down the place spot last out.

Race 4

(5) SKIP JIVE led every step of the way but did not have enough gas in the tank and held on the show spot last out. Gelding appears to be in fine form and fits well in here. (2) SHANE ADAM rallied strongly from the 8-hole to grab the placing; main danger. (1) POWDER KEG retains the rail and could have a say in the outcome.

Race 5

(3) STEVE SAID did not fire his best in the Weiss series at Pocono last out but this gelding does have a fondness for Yonkers; capable of getting the job done at his best. (2) WESTERN PIONEER was parked out most of the way in the Sagamore series and tired late in his last try; should have better results tonight. (6) DCS BETTER LIFE was quite game for the second money in his last start.

Race 6

(1) HALL OF TERROR closed strong to lose glory by only 1/2 length last out. Gelding now moves to the rail and that might help his chances of making tonight a winning one. (4) SIR ZIGGYS Z TAM is knocking at the door based on his last three outings. (2) HI HO STEVERINO gets post relief and stays in same company; watch out.

Race 7

(1) STEVENSVILLE moves down the ladder and does have speed. 5-year-old figures to be on the engine and if he has enough gas in the tank he can top these at his best. (3) PIER HO TEMPTATION was game for the place spot on March 21st and could make some serious noise against these. (5) TWIN B FAMOUS has put in three fine efforts and clearly is not out of this.

Race 8

(1) BROWN BRINNY is in a much better spot after facing Capela last time out; should be the boss over these. (2) TWIN B HONOUR moves to the 2-hole and she does have tactical speed to make some noise in the stretch drive. (5) OK HEAVENLY Two nice efforts at Saratoga make this gal a true contender in here.

Race 9

(6) CASIMIR JITTERBUG moves down in class and has good speed. With a favorable trip this gelding could get the job done. (2) SAPPHIRE CITY leaves the outside post for a better slot; main threat. (1) GOLD ROCKS put in a nice run from the 7-hole for the victory in his last start.

Race 10

(3) ELECTROFIRE If you throw out his last try this 9-year-old knows how to win races. He did score three starts back and could return to his winning ways with a well rated drive. (6) IDEALBEACH HANOVER was sent down the road in his last trip for all the glory. (1) MODERN YANKEE should fare much better from the fence; maybe.

Race 11

(5) ESCAPE THE NEWS is on the dropdown and gets a much better post to work with. Gelding has every right to get the job done. (1) CLASS SIX moves to the rail with speed so he will take them far as he goes. (7) SKYFUL OF LIGHTERS Based on his last three outings this gelding is knocking at the door for glory; we shall see.

Race 12

(3) TEAM CAPTAIN made a strong rally for the fourth spot last time out. Gelding might be heading in the right direction and now the move to the 2-hole could be what the doctor ordered; threat at his best. (2) ABERDEEN HANOVER is a very consistent gelding is seeking his first score of the year and he has been picking up checks; main danger. (6) PAN STREET USA has hit the board 5 of 6 starts this year and was a strong second at this level; watch out.
