SPOT PLAY - SAULSBROOK JESSIE (4th)

Race 1 - M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series (3&4YO F&M) Pace

(1) MILIONDOLAR BEAUTY moves from the outside post six she had in the first leg of this series last week to the pole tonight, and I think she'll be on the lead or in the pocket. Might offer a touch of value. (5) WINDSONG PARISIAN was a solid second after a two-hole trip last Monday and could move forward off that mile given it was her first pari-mutuel appearance since December 13. (2) PLATNUM PEARL hung around for third from first-up a week ago, retains an inside position on the gate, and gets Brennan back in the bike.

Race 2 - 10000CLM Pace

(6) CC BIG BOY SAM led throughout in that event back on 2-24 and got picked off late by Mister Truth. I'm hoping Brennan will employ similar tactics tonight as this definitely appears to be a group that he could go wire-to-wire on. (5) OH JOHNNY B GOOD N dropped to this class on 3-2 but that was offset by having post eight. He draws a mid-pack slot this time, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bongiorno go forward with him. (3) TERROR O didn't have the smoothest of trips last week, but given his current lack of early foot I think that could be something that hinders him again. He does switch drivers to Bartlett this time.

Race 3 - M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series (3&4YO F&M) Pace

(1) I'M VERY SPECIAL won easily and impressively a week ago. She does meet up with some tougher horses tonight, but she looms an imposing presence from the pole. (2) BETCHA BABY skipped the first round of this series, so she needs a good performance this week to offset that. She owns a prior win over NW6 and other good performances in that class as well that fit well against these. (3) CRANBERRY BRIE can be included well for similar reasons as Betcha Baby as she didn't participate in leg one either. She rallied nicely on 2-25 and may have needed that race given she'd been ideal since the 10th of January.

Race 4 - M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series (3&4YO F&M) Pace

(3) SAULSBROOK JESSIE ships down from Canada into the Allard barn tonight. She's another horse who was absent from the first round of the series, but I don't mind either of her performances to start the season north of the border, and she was able to make the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series final a year ago. (1) AFFLUENT SEELSTER upset the apple cart a week ago after a pocket trip. She retains the inside draw and might have the same journey. (7) FLY IN STYLE was moving up behind cover second-over last Monday and then got stopped when the horse she was following broke. She did finish well, and if they mix it up up front she could be closing late.

Race 5 - 12500CLM Pace **$10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool**

(4) AMRCANBOOTSCOOTA A suffered interference going to three-quarters last week when the pocket horse made a break in front of him. He hung around to finish fifth, and that was his first try in a pari-mutuel event since back on the 17th of December, so hopefully he'll improve with a tightener under his belt. (7) MYIDEALSON N got up for third in his first start for the Bongiornos last Monday and now gets to race straight $12,500 claimers rather than in a handicap against higher-priced foes. He's shown speed before, so maybe Joe goes back to that tactic. (3) COACH CAL took advantage of some early confusion and poor performances by others to win in a big way back on 2-27. That was his second straight good race, though, so you have to give him credit for that, and he should be near the pace from this inside draw.

Race 6 - NW2/25000LT Pace

(2) DRAGON SAID seems more reliable now that they've put hobbles on him rather than racing free-legged, and he's shown talent when he's minded his P's and Q's. That was a stout closing effort last Monday from an outside draw, and he gets plenty of post relief tonight. (3) VELOCITY KOMODO is probably going to get plenty of attention in his first start in the DiDomenico barn, but he's one-for-16 lifetime, and I will attempt to beat him. (6) IDEAL ARTILLERY made some appearances in the NY Sire Stakes program in 2019 and was second in the consolation. He romped in that qualifier down at Freehold with Marohn Jr. driving.

Race 7 - 12500-15000CLM HCP Pace

(6) STATESMAN N continues to work his way down the class ladder and catches a group he definitely can handle if he's at his best. Expect the veteran to show speed. (2) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR had the closing kick he lacked in prior races in his one start for Allard last Monday and was claimed out of that race. He gets an inside draw and will be in contention again. (5) PECORINO has been hampered by post eight in his last two but did close with interest to finish fifth a week ago. He might be able to sit a little closer and spice up the prices underneath.

Race 8 - NW5000L5 Pace

(3) DREAMFAIR CHARRO hasn't lived up to his lofty breeding so far, but he did close with some good final quarters in similar classes up at Woodbine Mohawk Park. He joins a barn off to a good start in 2020 and meets up with a wide-open group. (5) ABRAXAS BLUES A is yet to win since joining the DiDomenico stable back in January. He could end that drought tonight against these types, but I'll take a stand against at a probable low price. (7) GOTTA GO B B came up empty after getting positioned well from post seven most recently. He does drop tonight in his second start for Banca, and that might get him back in the hunt.

Race 9 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace

(4) BOBBY DAZZLER appeared last at Cal-Expo, so he ships about as far as a horse can tonight by coming to Yonkers and starting for the Bongiornos. Those are some quick times and good last quarters he shows out west, and I'll bank on him being ready off a layoff like he was before that mile on 2-1. (8) SPORTS TEEN really caught my eye with the way he won that NW5000L5 contest back on the 27th of February. He does move up in class and to the outside post, but this isn't the deepest NW7500L5 and there doesn't seem to be a lot of early speed types either, so I think he can overcome the eight-hole. (5) BLATANTLY BEST drops a notch after finishing with some late interest on February 27. Temming won a race last Monday and again on Thursday, so his charges are probably worth an extra look.

Race 10 - NW10000L5/Winners of NW7500L5 in Last Start Pace

(6) GINGER TREE MARTY cruised to victory the last time in raced in this class back on December 17 of last year. Look for Brennan to be aggressive and maybe have him on the lead. (3) MACHTU N was the one horse on the card Steve Smith was listed on when the program came out (he picked up another one for trainer Nick Surick in race nine), and when he's come over to drive at Yonkers lately, it's been a live angle. He's won with this horse down at Freehold the last two times they've been paired together. (4) ELECTRIC WESTERN has been facing some stout foes for several weeks, and I think this is a spot where he can be more competitive. He was second against $75,000 claimers at Yonkers earlier this year.

Race 11 - NW6/75000LT / NW4/50000LT Drawn Inside Pace

(3) MEADOWBROOK FLASH got a little jammed up in the pocket in the third quarter and around the last turn a week ago and had to settle for second behind a well-meant Followyourdestiny. I'll hope for a little smoother journey this time and a return to his winning ways. (2) MOTIVE HANOVER turned in another good performance when last seen on February 24, finishing second against NW4's. That was his third straight on-the-board finish. (1) FLYING FINN N made his U.S. debut against NW2's and was second as the favorite. He does move up in class here but gets Bartlett and has the pole.

Race 12 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace

(1) MCCLINCHIE N usually does his best racing at the NW10000L5 level like last time out when he crushed, but he does keep Brennan, lands the pole, and Vallee had two winners on Thursday (and just missed a third by a nose), so that barn merits respect right now. I'll look for some value. (3) SAULSBROOK DEPUTY is capable of beating this group like he did two back, but he lacks consistency, so he's a hard horse to endorse for a win. He does get major post relief tonight. (6) ORILLIA JOE also has a recent win against NW15000L5's but didn't appear to have much of an excuse last time when he led and gave way. Hard to ignore anything Harris puts on the track either.
