Best Bet: VINTAGE BABE (6th)
Spot Play: BERING SEA HANOVER (8th)
MEET STATS: 62 - 202 / $356.70
BEST BETS: 10 - 19 / $35.10
Race 1
(3) EYE CANDY wasn't bad in that qualifier and gets a post edge on his main rivals for his 2017 debut. (6) JK NOWORNEVER has parlayed good trips into wins in his last two and he can certainly take another facing nothing special. (7) ROCKS IT AGAIN has flashed good speed in his two starts for the Rohr barn; Bartlett drives.
Race 2
(6) SIX BAX returns locally, where he has had some moderate success in the past, and he faces a totally blank field; worth a look if the price is right. (2) FOR YOU ALMOSTFREE is supposed to win this but he just hasn't been good recently. (5) KODAK LINDY ships up from Delaware for Team Teague and he did hit the ticket last out in an improved effort.
Race 3
(4) GURL BAND K battled hard through a good three quarters last week but couldn't sustain the two-move effort; Filly should have a clear path to the lead tonight. (5) REAL DIVA arrives locally for Burke and picks up Gingras; threat. (6) ANGELINMYWAY ships from Ohio off a willing qualifier and she does like to win; keep an eye on her, perhaps for future weeks.
Race 4
(3) COUSIN MARY has been rock-solid in all recent, including a tough parked-out trip in her last; only concern is the missed time. (1) DANISH N COFFEE was game for second after being overtaken by a tough rival last out. (4) ST KITTS debuts locally now in the Banca barn and Bartlett drives; obvious threat.
Race 5
(7) ANGELS ROCKIN PICK showed willing speed and ability in her three-year-old campaign and she could be ready for action right off the bench in this questionable field. (4) PRETTY REAL DESIRE raced decently last week in a good acclimating mile. (1) SKINNY DIPPER has been a bit of a disappointment for her new connections; don't accept a short price.
Race 6
(2) VINTAGE BABE had been razor-sharp in Delaware and followed that up with a tough loss at The Meadowlands; Gannon trainee looks tons the best here. (4) ROSY OUTLOOK bounced back with a better effort last out. (3) BURDEN OF PROOF is facing better but she should be close up and can land a small share.
Race 7
(3) MARCH AWARENESS gets some needed post relief for a driver/trainer combo that's been pretty sharp; gelding looks like he has as good a chance as any in here. (4) GWALLY has been facing better out of town with limited success; maybe the change in scenery helps. (8) PINE TAB has looked like a new horse in his last two and he'll be a big price from this spot.
Race 8
(5) BERING SEA HANOVER was never a player in his local debut for new connections but Bartlett sticks and this looks like a better spot. (1) MR BAILANDO was close up two back from an inside post. (6) ROCKET J has been racing well for Silva and he could be a closing threat.
Race 9
(7) DERECHO seemed well-meant in his last pari-mutuel start but broke; Garcia-Herrera trainee followed that up with a sharp qualifier and bears following despite the outside post. (8) ANOTHER DAILY COPY spent last year chasing all the tough 3-year-olds and he was also very strong in last week's qualifier. (3) HAVE A PARODI ships from Florida off some good efforts. This should be an interesting race.
Race 10
(5) SQUARE DANCER looked like she had more to offer winning last week in her debut for new connections. (6) DIVAS IMAGE had some solid efforts here last season. (2) CHEYENNE TRIENGEL never fired with her best last week but she should be better than that.
Race 11
(3) SETTLEMOIR is another Garcia-Herrera trainee who could show more in his third start back and from a better post. (1) BALLERAT BOOMERANG clearly needs more late but he gets another crack from the rail. (6) RODEO ROMEO returns locally facing softer and he knows his way around this track having won the Sagamore here last year.
