Yonkers: Monday 3/27 Analysis

Matt Rose|Mar 24, 2017
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: RODEO ROCK (10th)

Spot Play: BIG WHITE PEARL (9th)

MEET STATS: 98 - 301 / $586.20

BEST BETS: 15 - 23 / $50.50

Race 1

(1) SYDNEYDREAMWEAVER was a game winner two back locally when she surprisingly showed speed; obvious threat here starting from the rail. (6) TOTALLY JAZZED had a tough trip in her local debut before breaking; she deserves another look. (2) BRICKYARD QUEENIE was close up last out and draws well again.

Race 2

(2) PASADENA STAR was facing better when last at Yonkers and he returns locally into a pretty soft spot. (1) ADRENALIN JUNKIE has raced well in his last three at Monticello without a victory to show for it and he returns locally with the best post. (6) BASTILLE isn't what he used to be and he caved in badly on the front end last out; tough to endorse on top.

Race 3

(3) JK NOWORNEVER is a well bred youngster who has hinted at ability and I'll stick with him despite missing some time. (1) AUSTIN ROCKS was sharp in his seasonal debut at Freehold. (6) TIMCAT HANOVER shows a win two back at The Meadowlands at 1/5 odds; that alone seems to make him a player here.

Race 4

(2) MARCH AWARENESS held pretty gamely last out after a long grind; the Garcia-Herrera/MacDonald tandem has been reasonably live this season. (1) SWEET JUSTICE returns off a win at Rosecroft versus lesser and he's got back class. (7) O U SEXY GUY won last out at The Big M and faced tougher in his prior start.

Race 5

(2) MY CANDY probably should have won last week at The Meadowlands but it was a decent effort nonetheless; mare has a post edge on her main rivals. (7) ROSY OUTLOOK hasn't done much recently but she seems capable of better. (3) TIME CLOCK HANOVER goes second-time Lasix and could show improvement.

Race 6

(6) ANGELINMYWAY followed up a nice closing effort in round one of the Petticoat by collapsing badly on the front end in her next start; mare keeps Kakaley and should offer some value from this spot. (4) FAMILY ROLL CALL has raced pretty well in all recent efforts. (5) FEELIN RED HOT has flashed solid early speed in her last two.

Race 7

(4) CLASSY DRAGON is perfect in her two 2017 starts, both dominating efforts over the big track; top billing here. (5) SANTIAGO STYLE has shown improvement this year with Lasix added. (1) SILVERHILL STORM pounced last week off a perfect trip to beat lesser.

Race 8

(1) COUSIN MARY has looked very impressive and is clearly the horse to beat in here. Landing the rail makes her a heavy favorite but there are some legit contenders in here. (5) REI'S STAR CROSS probably should not have gotten that close last week let alone win; Harmon trainee is razor-sharp. (3) VINTAGE BABE broke stride in her two local appearances; clearly the ability is there if she can figure things out.

Race 9

(2) BIG WHITE PEARL had good sneaky late pace last week at big odds and she looms a player with the post relief. (4) LO HOLD A MOONBEAN looks for two straight versus similar. (3) ADDY GIRL toured the track from the eight hole in her first two starts for Banca; clearly this is a spot to find out what she has.

Race 10

(5) RODEO ROCK was clearly third best to two tough ones last out; Yannick should be heading down the road with the gelding. (2) BOTTOM DEALS needed last week's start and should be tighter tonight. (4) LOVE TAP HANOVER was stacked up with excess cover upon arrival; consider underneath.

Race 11

(2) ROCKNROLL VISION has looked very impressive in his two local starts after joining the Banca barn; I'll give her top billing over a potentially overbet (1) SAIL TO THE BEACH. The latter didn't belong with Open mares and these are clearly a better fit. (4) VALUABLE ART gets some post relief and could be a speed player.

Race 12

(1) BLAISE MM HANOVER gets Gingras in the bike off a gutsy speed effort while drawing best again; one to beat in the finale. (7) WINNING LINC was solid in his seasonal debut and looms the main threat. (2) BALLERAT BOOMERANG hasn't been great recently; use underneath.
