Yonkers: Monday 3/25 Analysis

Matt Rose|Mar 22, 2019
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: SHES PUKKA N (6th)

Spot Play: BARIMAH A (11th)

MEET STATS: 84 - 245 / $408.30 (-$81.70)

BEST BETS: 13 - 20 / $39.20 (-$0.80)

Race 1

Assuming that (1) TURBO HILL gets around the Yonkers oval cleanly, he looks like a 1/9 cant-miss lock. (2) MANTARIO needed last week's start and he gets post relief for connections that are always live when they ship in. (6) AMERICAN ADMIRAL raced decently last out in his second 2019 start and more improvement can be expected.

Race 2

(4) STITCH IN TIME has been racing pretty well up at Monticello and the veteran returns here into a field with question marks and could provide some value. (1) CASH FOR GOLD has raced well in his last two at The Big M and he gets Bartlett from the best post but will likely be overbet. (3) P L KETCHUP is a speed threat for Team Bongiorno but he needs to show more late.

Race 3

(6) LEAN ON WHO seems to be on the verge of finally putting it all together and she meets probably her softest field in some time. (2) MI NINA BONITA definitely needed last week's start and the filly should have more to offer tonight. (3) DONT MACH MIA paced evenly in her last two for Garcia-Herrera and she gets a bit of post relief now.

Race 4

(4) LINE DANCER has been knocking heads with some good ones recently and for the most part has held her own; mare could go wire-to-wire from this spot. (5) B FIFTEEN finally broke through with a long-overdue win last week and the reward is she has to face tougher; sharp sort should be included. (3) RISSY'S ALL IN was very game for second last week.

Race 5

(3) MACINTOSH N has two nose defeats recently at this level with Bartlett; eventually the classy gelding win come out ahead in one of them. (5) MR HASANI N gets needed class relief and should be a player. (7) AMERICAN VENTURE is saddled with another poor post but he fits here and should be a healthy price.

Race 6

(5) SHES PUKKA N bounced back with a much better effort last week and the Croghan mare seems capable of dominating these. (8) PELICAN BLUE CHIP showed no early speed last out and flattened off cover; with an aggressive start the Allard trainee can be a major player. (2) IVESEENTHEFUTURE raced well enough in round one of the series to suggest she can be a player tonight.

Race 7

(3) ROCK IT SCOTT sustained a long move last week to score and Stratton's right back driving; Bucci trainee can repeat. (2) KEYSTONE PHOENIX has raced very well in his last two for Schnittker and usually offers good value. (1) BORN TO BE BAD qualified evenly for Julie Miller and may need start or two to hit top gear.

Race 8

(5) CATCH AN ACE probably wins last week if she gets clear from the pocket sooner and the Andrew Harris trainee always puts in a legit performance; this is shaping up as a very interesting and competitive Petticoat final. Do we spread in multi-race wagers? (6) ROBYN CAMDEN has been first or second in all her 2019 starts for Norman and driver Dexter Dunn; she lands outside of her two main rivals and will likely have to pounce from off the pace. (4) ODDS ON ASHLEY will be heading to the early lead and she's the third one in here with a legit chance.

Race 9

(5) SKYWAY QUINTON clearly has taken to his new surroundings with two impressive wins; 4-year-old seems capable of winning another. (4) WHOS BETTER gets post relief and will obviously be more involved tonight. (3) NOTABADGAME tackles much tougher but he's obviously firing on all cylinders now.

Race 10

(3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN did have good finishing pace last out but came too late; this looks like a good spot for Stratton to steer clear of any trouble in his oversized field. (6) WEONA SIZZLER A has been a complete enigma for his new connections; who the heck knows what to expect? (9) STARS ALIGN A fits well with this type but obviously he needs a smooth second-tier trip.

Race 11

(4) BARIMAH A raced very well last week with pace at both ends for a barn that's been heating up a bit. (4) DREAM OUT LOUD N couldn't sustain his move last out but I haven't completely lost faith in this veteran; Bartlett drives again. (1) Y S LOTUS is best one level down but he should land a piece from the rail.

Race 12

(3) CAPTAIN DEO is yet another Lance Hudson trainee with loads of ability and currently he looks as good as any in here but don't accept too short of a price. (1) LLOYD'S ALL IN has done nothing wrong in four local starts; obvious player. (5) ARAMIS N closed crisply last week for connections that can never be ignored.
