MEET STATS: 27 - 79 / $144.80 (-$13.20)
BEST BETS: 4 - 7 / $10.30 (-$3.70)
Race 1
(5) YEAHNAH showed some real promise here last summer and those qualifiers suggest he's ready to go; Pelling trainee can take this with a good steer from Troy Beyer. (3) TARAMAKAUREACTOR N got around safely last week and could have more to offer with the improved post. (6) ABRAHAM N is another recent import who could be tighter off last week's effort.
Race 2
(4) MIGHTY SURF has been looking a bit better lately and she meets a very suspect field here; timid vote. (3) CRESURREY blasted from the eight hole in last as my choice but stopped almost as quickly; if he reverts to his effort two back he'll be tough. (2) DULUTH has some class to him and should fit well at this basement level.
Race 3
(6) B FIFTEEN has raced exceedingly well in all recent starts and seems to only need a smooth trip in order to convert. (3) SWEET ANA HANOVER was good at first local asking for Auciello, who as previously mentioned has been live with most of his stock. (2) PLAYING THE PONIES arrives from Pompano with some good recent efforts and this is another barn that's been going well.
Race 4
(5) MAJOR MAID raced very well last week in her first start for a new barn and she deserves a follow-up look off that effort. (3) CARDIFF and (8) HEY SWEETIE are two Mohawk shippers that arrive in live hands and both get automatic consideration.
Race 5
(8) HUNDIE N was totally taken out of contention in the first turn in his last race but he did finish up very willingly; eight hole presents a problem but the import absolutely fits with these and could offer a fair price. (5) NIGHT CLUB HANOVER chased a speedy winner last week and held his ground well; main player. (6) MR DISOMMA raced pretty well last out in an improved effort; consider underneath at a big price.
Race 6
(2) ANNIHILATON may have been caught off guard when the winner pocket-pulled on him last week but he continued on well enough to be second best; he gets the more aggressive Brennan in the bike tonight which could make the difference. (6) I RUN THIS SHOW has raced well in all three local efforts and Bartlett drives again. (4) ALTA SHELBY N has hit the ticket in all recent starts for Auciello and he gets needed post relief; Dexter Dunn's choice.
Race 7
(4) ROCK LIGHTS was no match for some tough ones last out but he faces a bit softer competition here and the Harris trainee deserves top billing. (8) P L LESTER has looked good beating lesser in his two local starts and the DiDomenico trainee will likely be forwardly placed from the eight hole. (3) WILD BILL was used too hard early last out; he can grab a piece with a more conservative steer.
Race 8
(2) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI wanted to leave last week but was strangled back for some reason, then didn't fire into the rated pace; every other effort from the mare has been solid and I'll give her a look with Bartlett driving. (4) ODDS ON ASHLEY has looked good in her brief career for Tony Alagna; goes for three straight local wins. (7) ROBYN CAMDEN was very good to be second best last out but the mare may have too far to come from this spot.
Race 9
(4) BABES DIG ME was used hard in his debut for new connections, raced gamely but was nailed by an airborne rival; chance to make amends here. (1) PROLOGUE was outbattled on the wire last out but it was his second straight sharp local effort; he's the obvious main rival here. (2) NIHILATED TRUTH has been good and he gets needed post relief.
Race 10
(1) SIMPLE KINDA MAN looked good beating good 'Saturday night' horses in his 2019 debut so he really should be able to handle these. (2) LARRY KARR has been razor-sharp at The Meadowlands and that should translate well here. (3) MAGRITTE was trapped in the pocket last week facing NW10000 types; he can save ground here for a piece.
Race 11
(1) SLICK ARTIST A has gone back-to-back big efforts in defeat and a smoother trip will get it done. (2) MALNIFICENT earns a bump up in class off a sharp well-rated score. (3) STELLENBOSCH may use this spot as a ground-saving opportunity looking to shake free late.
Race 12
(4) SPORTS BETTOR seems to finally be feeling good again and he has some back class so the bump to NW10000 may not be a problem. (1) SWELLENDAM has been right there in his last three and is in line for a good trip here. (2) DURANT has fit at this level in the past.
