Yonkers: Monday 2/11 Analysis

Matt Rose|Feb 09, 2013

MEET STATS: 30 - 84 / $148.50 BEST BETS: 5 - 7 / $15.40

Best Bet: ARTHUR (7th)

Spot Play: FOUR CORNERS (10th)

Race 1

(1) DOUBLE IT UP closed very willingly from an impossible spot last week and was claimed. He's up a notch in class tonight but he does get serious post relief. (5) THESEYESRCRYING wasn't awful in his debut for new connections and he can move forward off that effort. (3) CHINA KING has big speed but doesn't always finish; note the barn change to Allard.

Race 2

(4) SING OUT raced well versus much better last out; expect a big effort tonight. (3) DULUTH gets post relief and a driver change to Stratton. (6) IM THE CASH MAN was facing better here last year.

Race 3

(3) MY QP DOLL returns to Sears, who had some moderate success with her last year. (4) THE REAL TONE closed willingly after escaping traffic in her seasonal debut and she should only be better tonight. (1) NOVA BLUE CHIP was one I had an eye on last week in her career debut but she was completely empty late; let's see if she can show some improvement.

Race 4

(1) OPTICROMBIE was going nowhere in a hurry last week; expect a reversal of fortune tonight from this spot. (4) SHES LOVIN IT had too far to come in last; she's another that figures to be more forwardly placed tonight. (3) SHELIKESITHERWAY had dead aim off a live trip but hung last week; she can hit the board here but it's tough to endorse her for the top spot.

Race 5

(2) DUNGEON DRAGON was third best to a couple of good ones last out and the Burke trainee should take charge tonight. (1) BOXCAR gets some needed post relief and is second-time Lasix. (8) TENANT IN CHIEF totally outclasses these and the teenager would be my top pick if not for the post.

Race 6

(1) KEYSTONE WILD CARD has speed, stays flat and draws the rail. That might be enough to get the job done versus these. (2) CREDIT LIMIT always teases but never gets the job done. Factor him for a board spot. (4) RAMBLIN RICK may show speed from this post; Asher barn has gotten off to a slow start this year.

Race 7

(1) ARTHUR was a solid second to a good rival last week and he's clearly the one to beat tonight. (3) ONTHECLOCK HANOVER should go better with the post improvement. (5) PACIFIC DESPERADO has plenty of back class. He gets an improved spot and the veteran may be able to rally for a share.

Race 8

(5) TY'S A BIG STAR flashed some willing late pace for his new connections and he's proven to be a good fit at this level. (1) JETTIN JUSTIN returns locally off a game score at The Meadowlands. (2) BJ'S GUY has big speed, but I can't see him going the distance against this field.

Race 9

(1) DEFIANCE N dropped into claimers and responded by posting a huge upset; he's got a chance to repeat, but obviously he'll take big money from this spot. (3) VERY UPSET RICHIE couldn't handle going two moves last week; he should get a smoother trip tonight. (4) AWESOME ARMBRO N totally disappointed last week; he's better than that.

Race 10

(1) FOUR CORNERS was flying up the rail last out; prior effort at Freehold was solid; this one should be ready for action tonight. (4) SALEVSTER STALLION drops back to the level of his easy win. (2) OYSTER BAY was used too hard last week and wilted.

Race 11

(5) MYSTICAL VALENTINE debuts for new connections via claim and is looking for four straight; I think he can do it. (1) MACRAIDER N debuts for Allard, who loves claiming off certain people, and he's had success with that strategy. (3) FOUR STARZ TRACE should be competitive from this spot.

Race 12

(4) PONTIAC LUCK drops in class, hails from live connections and would be no surprise here. (1) SGT CHARLIE has the rail and Brennan driving, but other than that there's not much to endorse. (6) FORENSIC Z TAM had no excuse last week; perhaps he'll be better tonight.
