Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) LOVIN COCOA was favored last Monday but got wiped out early and was never close. She still finished her mile well and should be better tonight with the race under her belt. (6) AFFLUENT SEELSTER gets another shot at the NW2's after winning last Monday. She has shown plenty of speed from outside draws in her other two chances, so I expect the same here. (8) HEAVY HANDED HANNA moves to post eight this week, but is in good form and was gaining through the stretch at Affluent Seelster a week ago to finish second.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(2) KEYSTONE CHARGER gets some major post relief this week, shifting from post eight to post two. He wasn't bad a week ago, just missing out on third, and his recent efforts against $20,000 claimers at Pocono fit well here. (5) ALEXANDER HANOVER has been facing much better than these in Pennsylvania recently. Kakaley drove two back and handles him here on what should be a softer spot. (7) JACKS TO OPEN finished second but was no match for the well-meant Boots N Chains in this company last Monday. He moves outside as well.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(7) MOTIVE HANOVER closed with authority in the final quarter last Monday to finish third. He had a gap in his schedule heading into that race, so he gets back on a regular rotation tonight, keeps Bartlett, and I think has enough speed to get positioned from an outside draw. (5) MACH DOMI regressed a bit a week ago but his prior two efforts in this class were strong. I'll look for a bounce-back tonight. (4) R ES DAZ was racing in Atlantic Canada and now goes for Allard. His qualifier here wasn't bad, and Allard has been doing well with some of his new horses lately.
Race 4 - F&M NW8/100000LT / F&M NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(3) SNOBBYTOWN cruised to an open-length victory back on 11-18, and has been racing very well since coming to Yonkers. This is a bit of a step up with some NW8's in here, but I think she can handle it. (4) ROSE RUN UPTOWNGAL impressed in her debut for Bucci last Monday, going to the lead and turning away the favorite in the final quarter. She's certainly capable of doubling up tonight. (6) BIG THONG has been going to the front in all her races on the page, so I think the strategy is obvious here. Just came up short after cutting the fractions on 11-4.
Race 5 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(1) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE moves all the way from post eight to the pole position this time. She's beaten NW4's in the past and could be sitting on a good performance in her third start back off a layoff. (4) APRIL AVA comes into this race in solid form with on-the-board finishes in her last three. Battled hard from first-up a week ago to finish second at this level. (5) BETCHA BABY got bet down in her debut for DiDomenico last Monday but broke stride. Trainer and driver should both know her better tonight, and watch for any equipment changes.
Race 6 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) APOTHIC comes down from Canada into Mark Harder's barn tonight. She beat both NW3's and NW4's earlier this year at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and those are usually strong races. I'll give her a shot and hope she's ready off the bench. (4) BE BEST sat a nice trip and delivered against NW4's last Monday. Steps up a level tonight, but I think she fits here based on her victories both locally and up in Canada. (1) FREE EXCHANGE is another Canadian invader tonight, joining the Hudson outfit. She has some impressive rallies on the page up there and is in solid form.
Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) SWEET SHE ROCK drops from NW6 to NW4 tonight, which should put her in contention. She won in the class on 11-4, and can hopefully get positioned from out here. (4) THROWING SHADE rallied to finish second a week ago in a strong effort. Has post four instead of post seven tonight, and I could see Dube sending her. (1) MI NINA BONITA retains the pole position tonight after a first-over third last Monday. She's usually a threat when she draws well in this company.
Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(5) JIMS PERFECT TEN invades tonight from Ohio where he was facing some good horses at both Northfield and Hollywood Dayton. He lands in a winnable spot here for a high-percentage barn. (4) MACHIATTO A was in NW30000L5 when last seen at Yonkers back in August but has been burning money at Freehold and Harrah's Philly lately. I'll try to beat him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the winner's circle. (8) ROCK N BLUE gets another chance to compete against NW7500L5's after winning in this class on November 19. He was Bartlett's choice in here, even from the outside draw, so I have to think he'll give him a shot.
Race 9 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) WHATS INTHE ESKY A showed improvement last Monday after some recent dull efforts. He owns two victories over NW4's at Yonkers back in September and October, and hopefully he can build on that mile last time out. (3) APEX SEELSTER took advantage of dropping into that NW3 class on 11-18 to get another win. His one try against NW4's on November 11 wasn't bad as he finished third, and he draws well here. (1) REIGNING DEO is 0-for-22 in the win column this year, but you have to respect his trainer Brett Pelling at all times, and he starts from the pole position again.
Race 10 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(3) YACHT WEEK kicked home nicely from an outside draw last Monday and now has post relief. This is usually the class he's the biggest threat in, and owns a win in it back on 9-30. (1) BRANQUINHO will probably be favored in here as he slides from post eight to the pole position after a solid second-place effort a week ago. Kakaley drives again as well. (5) SKIP TO MY LOU sat a pocket trip behind Benson Boys N last week and finished evenly behind him. Marohn Jr. gets another chance with him, and I have to think he'll be going forward off the gate.
Race 11 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(5) CAVIART MAX worked out the pocket trip a week ago and capitalized on it. I'm going to hope he lands the same thing tonight and gets the same result. (8) MATTICULOUS GB has won every race he's been in since shipping over from Great Britain. He's stuck outside here, though, and I think going to the front, which he's almost sure to do, might leave him vulnerable. (4) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP gets a much better draw tonight, starting from the four-hole. That first-over effort two back from the eight-hole was not bad.
Race 12 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(5) KIMANI N keeps threatening as of late but hasn't been able to get to the winner's circle. Kakaley takes over in the bike tonight, and maybe he can map out the winning journey in this wide-open looking finale. (4) ARTMAGIC might be the one to beat in here as he drops a bit after a fourth against NW20000L5's. He's another one who hasn't won in a while, though. (2) DRAGONOLOGY backed up his recent wins with a strong front-end try down at Dover. He returns to Yonkers tonight, is reunited with Bongiorno, and has a good draw.
