Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(6) ALWAYS B HANNY debuted at Yonkers in the NW4 level, so she gets some class relief off a closing third where she was also interefered with. (2) JUMPING JILLYBEAN and my top pick raced against each other out in Iowa where this one was the state champion. She also packed her bags and headed east, trouncing a group of NW1's up at Saratoga. (3) HEAVY HANDED HANNA makes it an Iowa trifecta for me, I guess, since this one also was in the Hawkeye State until her last two starts. Gets major post relief tonight and a driver change to Dube.
Race 2 - NW5000/12500CLM Trot
(6) ELDORADO OF GOLD S showed improvement last week when driven aggressively by Bartlett. Bartlett chose to drive him again tonight over a couple of others, and I'll bank on similar tactics. (5) LUCKY PROMESSES shifts back over to Yonkers tonight after racing against slightly better over at Pocono. Good second by a nose three back over there and then flattened out late after a hard first-over trip last time out. (1) SOUL TRAIN also dances back to Westchester tonight after competing at Pocono. His last two efforts would make him competitive against the bottom level here, and Stratton takes over with Bartlett going to my top selection.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) BETTER UP tried a brush to the front in the second quarter a week ago, and although he got the lead, that softened him up enough late that he got caught. I'll look for a little smoother journey this time and a win in his second start over the track. (4) OH TOODLES was following live cover from second-over when he broke stride on the final turn last Monday. I'll hope that was a one week blip and include him as he has a prior win at the level. (5) APEX SEELSTER impressed in his first start at Yonkers and for Allard last week as he rolled by to win clear from first-over. Draws in the middle of the gate again and is certainly a double-up candidate.
Race 4 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) CAMPUS QUEEN finally had some luck at the post draw, moving inside to the two after having the eight, then the six, then the seven in her last three. She also gets a new driver to consider with Bartlett taking over. (7) MI NINA BONITA scored a win at this level last Monday, getting up late. That's two good efforts in-a-row, and though she loses Stratton, I prefer her to the one he chose to drive. (3) SWEET SHE ROCK ran into a well-meant Lover's Cove last Monday after being rather flat in her debut at the NW4 level two back. I think she's still a nice horse and certainly capable of winning, but I'll put her underneath.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) ISITLIKEITLOOKS appears like he should be the controlling speed in here as he gets an inside draw again. I'll hope he can set a easy pace and last over the closers. (8) TAP TAP TAP was really, really good in his debut for Harris last week, blowing by my top pick and drawing off. He switches to an outside post tonight, so I'll hope that he's too far back to get there this time. (7) CAVIART ROCKLAND also got the speed he needed to chase in a different NW4 division last Monday and rallied by for the win. Since that's his usual preferred racing style, I'll look for him to be coming in the stretch as well.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) FAST ON THE DRAW returns to a better post tonight after having post six last Monday. He beat the NW4's handily back on 9-23, hasn't been bad since, and catches a beatable group tonight. (3) BURNING DESIRE debuted for Harris over at the Meadowlands on October 26 and faded after a first-over trip. Switches venues tonight and gets Bartlett's services. (8) A J MORELLI got to the lead from first-over a week ago but got chased down by Caviart Rockland. He has hit the board from post eight before at this level back on 9-23, and could definitely do the same here.
Race 7 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(3) SHECANDANCE N didn't get to race last Monday when she wound up as the also-eligible, but she's back tonight, draws well, and stays at the NW6 level where she's won two in-a-row. (7) SNOBBYTOWN took advantage of Shecandance N being absent last week by romping to a front-end win. She also sticks in this class, but moves outside on the gate and Shecandance N beat her handily when they raced each other two back. (2) BRONSKIMACKENZIE A has had the misfortune of trying to run down Shecandance N in her last two and is stuck in the same predicament tonight. Does get some post relief, sliding in to post two from post five.
Race 8 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(5) UNDER PAID made the one appearance at Yonkers two back where he was third to a stakes-caliber horse in Escapetothebeach. I don't see anybody of that level in here tonight, so I'm expecting Brennan to drive him aggressively. (3) CENTURY FERRARI gets Marcus Miller to drive tonight after he came up second-best when trying to wire a field of NW6's last Monday. (2) LENWOODS REAL DEAL had an outside draw for his debut at the NW6 class a week ago and raced conservatively. He switches inside tonight, so let's see if that puts him in the hunt.
Race 9 - F&M NW8/100000LT Pace
(2) CORAL BELLA advanced steadily through the mile to finish fourth from post eight last Monday. Draws much better tonight, starting from post two, and although Siegelman opted off, she lands a quality replacement in Stratton. (6) ALII NUI looks like another contender for Marcus and Erv Miller here late on the card as she gives Yonkers a try coming off a second in a stakes event down at Harrah's Philly. Her win two back at Pocono was impressive. (3) EDGE OF ETERNITY pulled the upset last week with a final-quarter rally. I'll go elsewhere tonight, but she is a quality filly.
Race 10 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(3) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH defeated NW8's and NW6's in his last two appearances at Yonkers, and since he draws well, I'll back him at expected low odds. (1) YACHT WEEK had post eight last Monday and got up for third, so he moves all the way to the pole this week. Bongiorno went to my top pick, so Brennan reassumes the drive as well. (2) IDEAL FLIP is another horse in here getting post relief tonight after having two post six starts and two post seven starts in his last four. Good second two back in a fast mile for this company.
