Yonkers: Monday 11/19 Analysis

Matt Rose|Nov 16, 2018
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: GATE SPEED (3rd)

Spot Play: NICOL SHARD N (7th)

MEET STATS: 484 - 1357 / $2,600.90

BEST BETS: 69 - 118 / $222.10

Race 1

(5) MAJOR MAID didn't race that badly last week but got a bit jammed in as the leader was tiring; she may be ignored a bit in the wagering with her trainer driving but she does appear capable. (1) GORDY AGAIN ships in for good connections, is in reasonable form and draws best, but note she's just 1 for 26 lifetime. (2) RED N HOTALLOVER rallied well last week and now gets post relief, but don't expect 22/1 tonight.

Race 2

(3) LYONS JENNIELEE drops back to the NW4 level, gets some post relief and was a winner from a similar spot three back. (1) CABOWABOCUTTIE has raced well in every local start for the Bucci barn and looms a big player again from the best post. (2) COVFEFE will be close to the pace again, perhaps even on the lead.

Race 3

(3) GATE SPEED has a nice acclimating mile last week, now gets post relief while facing a shaky bunch; DiDomenico trainee should be ready to roll. (5) A OLIVEONMYMARTINI backed up badly last out from the pocket; she'll likely be off the pace tonight and she may be better off. (3) RED SNAPPER returns locally, now in a new barn; shows improvement?

Race 4

(4) TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY has hit the board in 14 of 18 lifetime starts for connections that are usually live; he may be overbet but does seem like the most likely winner. (3) WILD WEST has been close up in all recent and seems due for some better luck soon. (5) NIHILATED TRUTH looks like a completely different horse in his last four and just missed last week at a huge price.

Race 5

(1) IOWA NEIGHTIVE has looked good taking two straight after moving to the Burke barn; he draws best in this competitive event and may be up to the task. (5) DAAMERICANSKY was used too hard in the early stages last week and had an excuse to tire; prior efforts were solid. (4) CROSS MY MIND was a bit short in his local debut; can he be tighter tonight?

Race 6

(2) ALDINE HANOVER picked up a check from the eight hole in the Jugette...who else in this field can brag about that? Erv Miller trainee picks up Bartlett and can control the action. (3) BULLVILLEKARLA steps up to face better but he's been very sharp. (5) DREAMS ON ME surged late to get the score last out and could be a closing threat again.

Race 7

(4) NICOL SHARD N missed almost a month prior to last week's start, raced okay bit did come up a bit short; he's right back in the box now and should be much tighter. (3) HEREHECOMESAROCKIN was in over his head in his last two at Pocono; he gets the capable Siegelman in the bike tonight in a much better spot. (8) BABES DIG ME would be the favorite and the clear one to beat had he not drawn the eight hole.

Race 8

(4) WEONA SIZZLER A freshened up with a sharp qualifier last week at The Big M and I expect the import to quickly resume winning ways. (2) GHOST DANCE raced gamely in defeat for his new connections after battling hard and he looks like a player again from the inside post. (1) ALBERGO HANOVER was a bit overmatched when facing the likes of Jimmy Freight last out; he fits well here.

Race 9

(2) CHANGE STRIDE N drops in class and gets an impossible-to-ignore driver change to Bartlett. (4) BULLET BOB knows his way around this track and is a threat to go wire-to-wire. (3) BETTOR'S PROMISE drops, gets post relief and was a winner when last at this level.

Race 10

(6) PRETTY BOY SWAG actually raced very well last out in the 4YO Open after racing uncovered a long way; he's got some tough ones in here but could be a very juicy price. (5) MAXDADDY BLUE CHIP has a world of talent when in the mood and he seems to be going well of late. (7) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN looked good on the front end last week going quick splits then hit a wall; he'll be off the pace and may have too far to come tonight but how can you dismiss him?
