Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) AFTER THE LOVIN was driven pretty conservatively in her Yonkers debut last Monday but finished up well. I'll give her another shot off that performance and hope she's much closer to the action this time. (3) HEAVY HANDED HANNA has been getting closer to winning at Yonkers in each of her last three starts. She was the runner-up in the same race my top pick comes out of. (4) TEMPRA HANOVER put in a big effort from first-up and came in third last Monday in another NW2 division. That was a good effort off those good tries up at Monticello.
Race 2 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) JOHNNY CHIMPO hasn't done much since joining Banca's barn, but he had some closing pace back on 11-4 and won plenty of races elsewhere earlier in the year. Catches a group here where maybe he can make some noise. (4) BETTER UP cleared to the lead from first-over last Monday but came up short in the lane. That's three straight seconds now at low odds, and I think he's a play-against again. (2) MACH DOMI had a bit of a gap in his schedule coming into last Monday and raced well, finishing third after making front from post seven. He might be tighter tonight and gets post relief.
Race 3 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(1) EVAS SPORTS CZECH draws a good post tonight as she starts from the pole position. Her last try against NW4's on 11-4 was a solid second from the pocket, and I think she should be close tonight, if not on the lead. (3) SOUTHWIND RAPUNZEL also gets post relief this evening coming off a gaining fourth in her last appearance. She's just one-for-18 in the win column this year. (4) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE returns tonight after a little vacation. She has several good performances in this class, including a win back on August 5.
Race 4 - NW3/30000LT Pace
(1) HEAD TO THE BEACH never got involved from post seven last Monday but shifts to the rail tonight. He might have needed that race too given he hadn't made a pari-mutuel start since 9-9. Bartlett went elsewhere, but I'll try this one with Brennan taking over. (4) APEX SEELSTER won two straight against NW2's and then hit the board in an appearance against NW4's. He drops down into this rarely-used NW3 class tonight and looks like a big threat. (3) ROGUE CHEDDAR is another horse taking advantage of the NW3 going tonight by sliding in from NW4. Took a run at the leader from the pocket last Monday but flattened out.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) CAVIART ROCKLAND won two back and then just got out-finished on 11-4 from first-over. This looks like a pretty soft NW4 division and he appears to be a standout. (6) HEISMAN PLAYER ships back into Yonkers tonight off three straight seconds over at Pocono. He crossed the wire first at this level in Westchester back on 9-16 but was placed for causing interference. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR rallied well in the lane last Monday but ran out of racetrack. That was another quality effort for him, and he has the pole tonight. Does lose Stratton to my top pick.
Race 6 - F&M NW6/75000LT / F&M NW4 Drawn Inside Pace
(5) SNOBBYTOWN scored the one time she didn't have to compete against Shecandance N on 10-28, and she gets away from that foe tonight. I think she'll have every chance to cut the mile here. (4) SOMETHING REEL gets a pretty key drop for her chances, retreating from NW8 to this level. I think that might put her back in contention. (3) ART LECTURE took advantage of that move into the NW5 company last Monday to score the win. She loses Brennan tonight to my top pick, but nothing wrong with landing Bartlett instead.
Race 7 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(1) BENSON BOYS N debuted impressively in the U.S. with a big rally to beat NW4's at Pocono. He raced in a couple Group 1 races in New Zealand, so he has some class to him, and I'll look for him to double up. (4) YACHT WEEK gets to move down from NW8 to NW6 tonight. He's raced well in this company before, including a win back on 9-30. (5) BRANQUINHO picked up checks in a couple stakes down at Harrah's Philly recently. Was last at Yonkers for the Messenger back in August where he finished fourth.
Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(5) DOJEA SOLO goes for Banca off the claim tonight. He has one previous effort at this level that interests me back on 9-24 when he was second and adds Bartlett on the barn change. (6) THE LUNCH PAIL dropped to this class last Monday and was the runner-up. He moves outside on the gate tonight but has enough back-class to beat these. (1) ER ROCK MY WORLD raced well in his second try for Height on November 9. Draws the pole position tonight and gets some class relief, moving down from NW10000L5.
Race 9 - NW8/100000LT / NW6 Drawn Inside Pace
(1) SILAS SEELSTER got the drive I was hoping for last week when he went to the lead but then broke on the last turn after putting away the first-over horse. He retains the inside draw tonight and gets a new set of hands with Stratton driving, so I have to give him another shot. (4) CAVIART MAX had post eight back on 11-4, so just throw that line out. He's done well against NW8's before with a second and a third. (5) WATERWAY is a newcomer to the Banca outfit after being purchased out of the mixed sale portion of the Standardbred Horse Sale. He has a win over NW6's at Yonkers back in the summer and made the Messenger final.
Race 10 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(6) CAMPORA N is still looking for his first win in the U.S., but he's been getting close, including two thirds at this level. I'll hope he can find some cover to follow and deliver a good kick. (1) VAPOUR N owns a win two back at Harrah's Philly over what is similar company to the group he faces tonight. The rail draw also obviously should be a plus. (5) ZOEEZ BOY HENRY battled tenaciously from first-over last Monday but flattened out in the lane. He gets another chance to race the NW7500L5's tonight and kept Bongiorno.
