Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(5) AFTER THE LOVIN got on a good roll in the Canadian Maritimes with three straight wins in stakes events and now ships south into Allard's barn. She's shown the ability to win both on the engine and off-the-pace, giving Dube options. (3) ALWAYS B HANNY got stuck outside at every call last Monday and was totally empty. Her first race showed some talent against NW4's, and I think she could easily rebound her with some post relief. (2) FEAR NO EVIL rolled to an easy win with Bartlett driving down at Freehold, and she has him back to drive tonight from an inside post.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(4) HOT SUMMER KNIGHT is a classy old boy with 34 career wins. He hasn't been to the winner's circle on the page, but he showed consistent speed at Monticello except for last time when he was stuck outside, and he gets Bartlett in the bike. I think he's a good fit at the bottom level here for a high-percentage barn. (3) MR POWERS returns to Yonkers tonight after a win up at Saratoga. He's won in Westchester recently as well and is reunited with Eric Goodell. (2) CRITICAL MASS closed nicely in the final quarter a week ago and moves inside on the gate from post four to post two. He also picks up Joe Bongiorno to drive.
Race 3 - F&M NW2/30000LT Pace
(3) SWEET WESTERN didn't have much to offer in that race down at Freehold, but she might have needed the race off the ship down and the bit of time off. Trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. has come up with some winners lately, and this filly did show some miles up in Canada that would make her competitive here. Bartlett drives. (2) HOOPLA HANOVER has been stuck outside her last two starts, so this is major post relief getting to start from post two. She's just one-for-20 this year, but she has hit the board three times as of late. (1) TEMPRA HANOVER gives Yonkers another try after some good efforts up at Monticello. I'd like to see her navigate the track safely this time since she broke back on 9-23.
Race 4 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) SOUTHWIND ADIRONDK, a 2-year-old, takes on his older foes again tonight, but he showed some talent two back, just missing by a nose, then raced from off-the-pace from an outside draw and got interfered with, yet still made up a bit of ground a week ago. He has post relief tonight, and I'll give him a shot. (4) BETTER UP looks like the one to beat here as he gets away from Apex Seelster, but he still has an 0-fer showing in 2019, and I'll try and beat him. (1) BRONSONS DELIGHT also has a much better starting slot tonight as he drew the pole after having the eight and the seven in his last two. Bongiorno picked him over another one in here.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) GAMBLINGTERROR put in a better effort last Monday from an outside post and now gets to slide inside to post three. He also gets Stratton back to drive tonight, and he seems to get along with him well. (7) HEAD TO THE BEACH is another one for the Bartlett/Morgan Jr. tandem on the card. This one hasn't raced since back on 9-9 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, but he did qualify well at Freehold, and certainly catches a wide-open group here. (4) ROGUE CHEDDAR hasn't been able to find the winner's circle for quite a while, but he is capable of following along and getting on the ticket.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) TWIN B JAYS makes his Yonkers debut tonigt after racing at Pocono and the Meadowlands recently. His two efforts against NW4 at Pocono look like they'll fit here, and he picks up Bartlett from an inside draw. (4) A J MORELLI had come up second-best two straight times after putting in big efforts from first-over. He moves back inside tonight after having post eight a week ago, so maybe he can get a less arduous journey and not have to do all the dirty work. (6) ABSOLUTE INTENT lived up to his name last Monday as he insisted on the lead from pole, parking out an early challenge, then denying A J Morelli in the last quarter as well. He keeps Dube tonight, though he does move outside.
Race 7 - F&M NW5/50000LT Pace
(5) ART LECTURE receives a chance to race in this seldom-seen NW5 class tonight. She was recently third against NW8's, and any duplication of that type of effort would make her very difficult to beat. She also has a bit of an in-and-out pattern right now, and if the trend holds, she should be sitting on a good one. (7) EVAS SPORTS CZECH left well and then gained in the stretch to just miss last Monday. That was a much-improved effort, and I think she could easily put in another one tonight. (6) SWEET SHE ROCK rallied to get the better of Evas Sports Czech, but the last time she won, it was a few weeks before she was able to do so again, so I'll put her underneath.
Race 8 - NW6/75000LT / NW8 Drawn Outside Pace
(1) SILAS SEELSTER has been driven conservatively when he's drawn outside, but when he had post four and post two in his other appearances, he showed plenty of talent, including a romping win over NW4. I'll put him on top since he has the pole and expect a return to the more aggressive style. (3) SKIP TO MY LOU had zero shot at the Meadowlands when he took back to last in a quick mile but did come home in 26 1/5. He won over NW5 impressively at Harrah's Philly and got a check in the Liberty Bell. (4) WILD BILL has Schnittker back to drive tonight, but he did guide him to a recent third-place effort in the NW8 class.
Race 9 - F&M NW6/75000LT / F&M NW8/100000LT Drawn Outside Pace
(6) SHECANDANCE N extended her win streak to four last Monday. She is drawn outside what looks like the other main contender in here, but I don't think she necessarily needs the lead given she's won from off-the-pace before as well. (3) SNOBBYTOWN put in a solid effort to finish second to Shecandance N a week ago from post seven. She has the inside advantage tonight, but Shecandance N has handled her pretty comfortably both times they've met up. (5) TELLAWOMAN has some post relief tonight after a good final quarter kick from post eight last Monday. She was second to Snobbytown recently and might be able to follow cover to get into contention.
Race 10 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(3) ZOEEZ BOY HENRY shifts back over to this class from the claimers tonight. He's been up against it from a post standpoint lately with two straight eight-holes and a six prior to that. The last time he raced at this level he came flying home to finish second, he finally draws well, and he kept Bongiorno over another one in here. (5) CATCHA LEFTY A drops after a solid speed try on November 2 and could be the pace-maker in here as well. (1) THE LUNCH PAIL also gets class relief and slides back to the pole position this time. He finished second against NW20000L5's and third against NW30000L5's on the page, so if he's up to that sort of effort, he'll be formidable.
