Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) PLATNUM PEARL has a start over the track now, and it was a good second last Monday to Sweet She Rock. Has the rail this time, and should be on the lead or in the pocket. (5) STICK THAT LIP OUT rolled to an easy win over NW2 company at Pocono last time out and was Bartlett's choice here. (4) EVAS SPORTS CZECH had a clear lead throughout last Monday but weakened in the lane. She might be tighter tonight after that effort off the sick scratch.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) CLARION HALL won his second straight for DiDomenico a week ago from post seven and now shifts back inside this week. Short price looms, but he's easily in the best form of this group. (5) RED HOT HERBIE hasn't been having much luck at Pocono lately, but Allard has been winning with regularity here lately, and that merits attention. (1) DON is another one looking for a wake-up call as he shifts from NW6 to the bottom level here. Gets a new set of hands this time with Stratton taking over.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) BRONSONS DELIGHT qualified well here on 9-27, making up a great deal of ground in the back-half of the mile and finishing strongly. He's been off since 8-3, but I'll hope Stafford has him ready and go with him. (3) SO IT GOES has been knocking on the door, finishing second in his last two appearances in Westchester. Probably the one to beat. (2) JD'S NOAH put forth a nice effort last Monday to take third in a quick mile won by Sweet Troy. Gets some post relief off that performance, going from post five to post two.
Race 4 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) SOMETHING REEL scored the victory over the NW4 class on 9-23 and gets another chance to race at the level from an inside post. She might be able to get the jump on some of the others with an aggressive drive, and I'll try her again. (7) SHECANDANCE N had dead-aim at Money Shot Hanover from first-over last week but was rebuffed. She has Bartlett back to drive again, and might look for cover this week from the outside. (1) DOROTHY'S LEGACY returns to Yonkers tonight after racing against NW6's at Harrah's Philadelphia. She had bad posts in her last two local efforts, but gets the pole this time.
Race 5 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(1) MARYMACISBACK got wiped out in an incident on the last turn a week ago. She drops back down to NW4 off that and catches a beatable group from the rail draw. (6) FLY IN STYLE is a newcomer to the Banca barn. She was sharp at Georgian Downs before coming state-side, with two wins, a second, and a third in her last four starts. (5) CAMPUS QUEEN raced great in her Yonkers debut back in August but went the wrong way in September. Qualified well down at Freehold, so maybe Harris found something.
Race 6 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace - **$10K GTD Pick 5**
(4) BEACH BAR is now racing for Lance Hudson after a private purchase. She was second to Treacherous Reign and fourth to Warrawee Ubeaut in the PA Sire Stakes this summer, so she's been keeping excellent company, and I'll look for her to take her Yonkers debut. (3) SULKY QUEEN came on to get third after the incident in the far turn that my top pick in race five was also involved in last Monday. Shifts inside on the gate to post three, and you can't discount anything the Bongiornos are sending out right now. (6) TOPVILLE ANGELINA got bet in the Excelsior Series final but made an early break. She's raced at this level before at Yonkers, finishing third back on 7-22.
Race 7 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) ISITLIKEITLOOKS had no luck at the draw in his first two appearances in Westchester, starting from the eight and the seven. He gets a good post to work with tonight, starting from the deuce, and I'll look for some big improvement and more aggressive handling. (1) BOYS TURN also gets post relief tonight, moving back to the pole position after being saddled with post six last week. Was a rallying second when starting from post one on 9-23. (5) BAD LOAD was one of several winners for Joe and Jenn Bongiorno last Monday as they dominated the card. If he's that good again, they'll have a hard time beating him.
Race 8 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(9) SAMS A CHAMP A ships back east tonight after racing in Kentucky and Ohio in recent weeks. He was in the open last time out at Hollywood Dayton, so he'd been in against tough foes, and he knows his way around Yonkers, too. I'll hope he gets ignored a bit from the trailing post, gets a clean trip, and can upset this wide-open field. (1) OURLITTLEGENERAL A comes in from Pocono off two quick miles, including a sub-1:50 win last time out. He's another one with previous winning experience this season in Westchester. (5) PACING MAJOR N is just one-for-18 this year but went a big trip from post eight to finish second on 9-28. Draws a better post this time.
Race 9 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) A J MORELLI gets a new view of things tonight as he starts from post three after having the outside two straight weeks. He was a solid second two back from behind the eight-ball, then raced conservatively last Monday. Hopefully the better post gives Brennan more options with him. (2) WHATS INTHE ESKY A was another one of the winners for the Bongiornos last Monday. Certainly capable of doubling up as he gets to stay at the NW4 level and finished full of pace in his victory. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR hit the board again last time out, like he often does. Retains the pole position, so he should be contention.
Race 10 - NW7/75000LT Pace
(2) CAVIART MAX saw his four-race win streak from out at The Red Mile ended in his Yonkers debut last week, but it was a solid effort as he finished fourth. Draws better, gets Bartlett, and now has experience over the track, so we'll see if that combination helps. (1) YACHT WEEK had an easy time of it on the engine last Monday and won as he pleased. He's certainly poised to end up on the lead again from the rail this time. (3) HE'S ELECTRIC came in third to Yacht Week a week ago at long odds, and I could see something like that happening again.
