Race 1 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) FLY IN STYLE ended up with an inside draw tonight after finishing second and third from the seven and the six in the first two starts for Banca. Looks like she should be in line for a pocket or on-the-lead trip. (6) CAMPUS QUEEN had post eight a week ago, so I can excuse the off-the-board finish. Gets a slightly better starting spot tonight, and her win two back was impressive. (2) SOUTHWIND RAPUNZEL rallied to finish third to Campus Queen back on October 7 when she had a good post, and I could see her getting on the ticket after inside trip again this time.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(6) PANAMANIAN HANOVER drops to the bottom level in his local return. Finished third in a good effort against NW7500L5's when last seen here, and this is definitely a beatable group. (3) MRS DARCY kept Stratton over others in here. Has won twice at this level recently. (4) WILD SMILE also continues to slide down the class ladder tonight. Came in third at a higher level back on 9-17.
Race 3 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(2) GREEN POINT had to come first-over against an in-form Sweet She Rock last Monday and couldn't make any headway. Makes her second start for Blackler, and I could see her improving. (1) MILLWOOD BONNIE N has lacked any early foot so far since coming to the U.S., but she drops from NW4 to NW2 and has the rail, so that could change tonight. (4) LOVE AMERICANSTYLE held second after a pocket trip behind Sweet She Rock a week ago. Makes her third start back off a short layoff tonight.
Race 4 - NW2/26300LT Pace
(3) OH TOODLES debuts for Harmon tonight after a decent qualifier over at Pocono. Enjoyed success out in Iowa, winning 14-of-26 lifetime, and he certainly catches the right looking field to make an immediate impact out east. (6) SO IT GOES has racked up three straight second-place finishes at Yonkers at this level. Made one unsuccessful appearance down at Harrah's Philly on 10-13, but that was against NW3's. (5) DERNIER ESSAI is now in the Hudson barn after a private puchase. The horse has been winning lately, but I think horses are usually at their best for this trainer in their second start.
Race 5 - F&M NW4/53500LT Pace
(6) SWEET SHE ROCK steps up to NW4 tonight, but she caught the eye in all of her races at the NW2 level for DiDomenico, especially last week, and retained Zeron over another. (4) DIXIE STAR N was on a good roll until that sick scratch on 9-16, and hasn't been as good since. Slides in under the money-won condition to get in this NW4 race tonight, and maybe that will perk her up. (1) LOVERS COVE closed for second back on 10-7 and has the rail tonight. Zeron went with my top pick, so she's reunited with Bartlett.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(7) SILAS SEELSTER trounced a field of NW4's last Monday. He does move back outside, and he did take back the last time he was out here, but I'm hoping Siegelman will push forward with him again like a week ago. (3) AMERICAN INFLUENCE finished second in a good effort back on 10-7. Making just his fourth start of the season after a year off between pari-mutuel starts, so I think he'll just get better with each appearance. (2) GAMBLINGTERROR picked up some positions in the stretch to finish fourth last week. Might be able to close again late from this inside draw, and he kept Dube.
Race 7 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace *$10K GTD Pick 5*
(2) SHECANDANCE N continued her hot streak a week ago with a facile victory on the front-end, and her versatility gives her the ability to do that again or to rally from off-the-pace. (1) SNOBBYTOWN ships in from Ohio tonight for Burke. She won impressively in two straight at Hollywood Dayton and was fourth in the Sire stakes championship, so she definitely has class. (6) BRONSKIMACKENZIE A finished a solid second to Shecandance N last Monday in a good performance in her first start back from Ohio. She has enough speed to land an inside position again if Stratton leaves with her.
Race 8 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(4) WILD BILL turned in an improved effort last Monday, finishing third in a close finish at the NW8 level. Returns to the NW6's tonight and Schnittker goes to a catch driver, with Stratton hopping in the bike. (1) CENTURY FERRARI moves all the way inside from post seven to the pole position after a strong third-place effort on October 7. He might sit a pocket trip again here. (6) YACHT WEEK owns a win in this class and came up three-quarters of a length short of winning two straight. Brennan stays in the bike as well.
Race 9 - F&M NW8/100000LT Pace
(5) MAY BRIDE HANOVER was victorious over NW8's for the second straight time a week ago, and she gets another shot in this class tonight. Has been showing plenty of speed to either cut the mile or sit up-close again. (1) SHES PUKKA N slides over to the NW8 level after racing from the NW30000L5's down to the NW15000L5's in her recent Westchester tries. She's usually a threat, especially from the pole, but hasn't won since July. (6) DEMI HILL closed strongly through the stretch last Monday to finish second to May Bride Hanover. Will probably have to look for live cover again this time.
Race 10 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(6) MARTY MONKHOUSER A battled hard from first-over and was second in his debut for Cory Stratton. Comes back in the same class tonight and ends up against a group that he can beat. (2) LEAN ON YOU has to move up from NW5000L5 to NW7500L5 tonight, but that was a nice-looking win on October 10, and he draws well again. (1) ELWELL continues to slide down the class ladder in search of spot where he can win. Finished fourth against much better than this two back, and he was Siegelman's choice of three.
Race 11 - NW8/100000LT Pace
(7) ROCK THE DEVIL got a check in the Open when last seen at Yonkers on September 28. He won five straight and eight of nine locally before that, and he's shown the ability to win on the lead or by closing. (4) CAVIART MAX lost all chance last Monday when he broke before the start and ended up with a brutal trip. Bartlett stays on board, and you might get some value off the break. (5) KEYSTONE PHOENIX was absolutely flying up the pylons last week and just ran out of racetrack. Bongiorno gets another chance to drive, and he might get some pace to chase again.
