Race 1 - 20000CLM Pace
(3) ONE TO DRAW TO hasn't done a lot for Allard so far but does get both class and post relief tonight and retained Dube. Think we'll see some more speed and a better effort. (6) ROCK ON PRECIOUS drops after third in a quick mile last Friday. Beat $25,000 claimers on August 9. (1) MANHATTAN BENNY draws the rail tonight, which should allow him to sit a good trip and finish on the ticket.
Race 2 - NW20000L5/30000CLM Trot
(3) IN MY DREAMS just toured the track a week ago from post eight but draws a much better post tonight to go with another chance at this level. (2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN should be the one to beat again as he gets another opportunity in this class. Dominated last week on the front-end. (1) DARK POOL might be in line to follow behind Mostinterestingman again like last time as he slides down to the rail.
Race 3 - 20000-25000CLM HCP Pace
(2) KIWI TINTIN N is a recent addition to the Hudson barn. Finished third for him up at Saratoga on August 31 and draws an inside slot for his Yonkers debut tonight. Seems like a good fit. Was competitive at the Open level up at the Spa earlier this year. (4) DONAU took advantage of some confusion to score a win last Friday, but he's in good form too, with two wins in his last three. (5) HALF A BILLION gets a bit of class relief, going from the straight $25,000 claimers to this handicap with $20,000 claimers included. Closed well for third a week ago.
Race 4 - 30000-40000CLM HCP Pace
(7) BLUEBIRD RECON invades from The Meadows tonight for Burke off a win in their open. Stuck outside, but shows quarters out there in 26 and change, so he appears to have plenty of speed to overcome it. (1) HEEZ ORL BLACK N got cooked in a duel last Friday when parked out. Has the pole tonight, so he should be able to have a smoother trip. (2) ONLYTHETUFFSURVIVE has been post compromised in both starts for Banca as he drew the eight and then the six. Gets big post relief tonight and should have every chance to deliver a good performance.
Race 5 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace
(2) NEVERFORGETWHOUR got to drop to this level two back but was saddled with post eight and had to settle for second. Tonight she gets another crack against this company and has a good post to work with, so I'll put her on top. (4) BROWN BRINNY scored a front-end win last week, but meets up with a new opponent in my top pick. Have to respect her versatility, being able to win both on the engine and chasing. (5) PRETTY REAL DESIRE closed very well two back but then had post eight last time, giving her little chance. Returns to a mid-gate post tonight, and that should put her back in play.
Race 6 - F&M Open Handicap Pace
(7) WISDOM TREE wound up in a dead-heat for second behind the well-meant Feelin Red Hot back on August 23. Feelin Red Hot isn't here tonight, so the lead in this race is up for grabs, and she should be able to get well-positioned even from out here. (4) D GS ELSA is another one who gets away from Feelin Red Hot and Alexa's Power tonight as they aren't entered. Solid third to those two a week ago. (2) ANGEL'S PRIDE double-jumps in class tonight, but she comes in off two blowout victories against lesser and has a good starting slot to possibly make front again.
Race 7 - 25000CLM Pace
(4) DO OVER HANOVER rallied late to win last week in his return to Allard. Steps up, but in a race with a lot of early speed types, I'll look for one who has shown the ability to close, and given his performance a week ago, I think he's the one who can. (3) NERVE OF STEEL N took his debut for Hudson at Saratoga on August 31 and gives Yonkers a try tonight. Was Stratton's choice. (1) DISMISSAL SLIP gives claiming company a try after one start at Freehold. Nice win over NW8's here at Yonkers on August 5, and that kind of performance would put him in play.
Race 8 - F&M NW20150L5/30000CLM Pace
(4) KAITLYN N performed superbly last Friday, rallying from the pocket to defeat the classy Dont Think Twice A. Sticks at this level and should be able to double up. (6) ALEXIS FAITH ships down from Woodbine Mohawk Park for Casie Coleman. Been keeping strong company up there, and shippers from Woodbine Mohawk Park have done well through the summer. (3) TELL ME A JOKE squeezes into this race just under the money won in the last five races condition. Draws inside my top two selections and has Brennan to drive again.
Race 9 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace
(4) LOVIN MISS DAISY N missed by a whisker to Write Me A Song on August 23 and gets to drop down a notch on the class ladder off of it. Won easily in her last appearance at this class on July 12. (7) MACH IT A PAR has plenty of back-class to compete against these, but the draw didn't go her way, and I fear she might be too far back or have to grind into it. (2) PATANJALI N showed a bit of late interest last Friday in her U.S. debut. Had to need the race given the layoff, and I think she could show some improvement.
Race 10 - NW20000L5/30000CLM Trot
(5) WINNING SHADOW closed from the pocket last week but couldn't catch Top Flight Angel and finished a solid runner-up. Gets another crack at this NW20000L5 level, and doesn't seem to meet up with anybody as classy as Top Flight Angel. (3) SOUTHWIND CRUZE is probably one level too high on the class ladder to be a win threat, but he did well enough to finish third a week ago and draws a slightly better post. (4) WHETHER OR NOT FI sat behind Top Flight Angel and Winning Shadow last Friday but came up empty. Reunited with Bartlett tonight, who guided him to a second from post eight back on 7-26.
Race 11 - F&M NW30000L5 / 3&4YO F&M NW10 Pace
(1) GOLD ORCHID N found the Opens too difficult but gets back in the game tonight with a rail draw and a drop. Has won both of her chances against this class on 6-28 and 7-19. (3) SAFE FROM TERROR took one shot against the open level and now gets class relief. Closed very well two back for a good third. (8) DONT THINK TWICE A has taken two tough beats in-a-row, including a nose loss two back when in against NW30000L5's. Draws the worst of it but did keep Bartlett.
