Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(5) MISTER TRUTH got a great drive by Holland last week, finding the pocket from post eight and pouncing, extending his run of good form. No chance he's 27-1 tonight, but I'll put him on top anyway. (3) FINAL JUSTICE has been racing in the TrackMaster events over at the Meadowlands and has been okay, with the first better than the second. Picks up Bartlett to aid his chances tonight. (7) UF ROCKIN DRAGON was claimed by Ruiz last Friday night and sticks at the same level, though he shifts back out on the gate.
Race 2 - NW20000L5/30000CLM Trot
(3) FASHION CREDITOR has been facing way better than these, both here at Yonkers and over at the Meadowlands. Bartlett stuck over four others. (2) MEADOWBRANCH RICKY raced well out-of-town and gets in both a good post and in against a sensible field for his first appearance in Westchester since back in the winter. (7) SORTIE is a talented horse but often has breaking issues. Couple that with an outside post, and I have to put him underneath.
Race 3 - 20000CLM Pace
(1) STEVE SAID worked out a pocket trip last week but could only finish evenly. I'll give him another chance from the rail tonight. (3) SWIFT AS A SHADOW closed well last week but ran out of time. Switches barns off the claim this week and Bartlett picked him over two rivals. (5) AMERICAN VENTURE has been in an every-other-week pattern of throwing a good race, so this would be the week for a better performance if that holds.
Race 4 - 25000CLM Pace
(1) MASTER THE VIEW won in his debut for Banca but hasn't done much since. Gets both a drop and a better draw tonight, so I'm hoping that wakes him up. (5) JOE HILL retreated out of it in his first start for Allard on 5-24. Has had some time off and also gets class relief for this race. (4) COOL BLUES MAN took advantage of drawing well last week to score, but I'll go against him tonight.
Race 5 - 30000CLM Pace
(4) SOUTHWIND MASIMO joins the Burke outfit after some nice races at Rosecroft and then one try at Harrah's Philly where he closed well. Lured Brennan off a DiDomenico horse as well. (5) PERFECTLY CLOSE is another one dropping for Banca tonight in search of a better performance. Had no chance when taken back to last on Saturday night. (1) SLUGGEM N invades for DiDomenico after racing well in Pennsylvania. Was rejected by Brennan, but I still give him a big chance with Holland taking over.
Race 6 - F&M Open Handicap Pace
(1) GOLD ORCHID N bumped into the likes of Caviart Ally at the Meadowlands the last two weeks and heads over to Yonkers tonight. Raced okay in the Matchmaker Series earlier this year in Westchester. (5) LISPATTY has been at the mercy of the draw lately with lots of outside posts, but gets a mid-gate slot to work with tonight. No races since 5-26, but I trust she'll be ready to go. (4) ALEXA'S POWER had no chance from post eight when last seen at Yonkers. Gave the Great Northeast Open Series a creditable try and draws well tonight for her Yonkers comeback.
Race 7 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace
(2) TRUTH AND LIBERTY beat the opens at Tioga three out of four times in May and now heads back downstate. Got a scratch-time driver change to Bartlett to help her chances tonight. (6) AMERICAN EMPRESS N got parked out last week, so I'll hope MacDonald can work out a smoother journey tonight. I think she's good enough to win against these at any time. (4) CABOWABOCUTTIE cut the mile and just missed last Friday in an improved effort. Looks like she'll have every chance to be on the engine again.
Race 8 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace
(3) BLUSH HANOVER seems to prefer racing at Yonkers as she has strung three good races together here, including last week where she finished well. Gets a better post to work with tonight. (2) IDEAL LIFESTYLE A was good enough in the Matchmaker Series to make the final earlier this year. Found a winning spot last time at Harrah's Philly and will look for that to carry over. (5) AMBRO COURAGE N receives some class relief tonight after a dull effort a week ago. Has beaten this class before.
Race 9 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace
(6) SANDY'S BEACH gained a couple spots after being near the back last week. I'm hoping that on a regular rotation now Marohn Jr. will be more aggressive with her and she'll fire with a top effort. (5) SIDEWALK DANCER took a little while to get going at age four but looks like she turned the corner on 5-8 and has been good since. Probably the one to beat. (2) FREAKONOMICS received a little freshening after performing well at Pocono and then qualified well enough at Gaitway.
Race 10 - F&M NW30000L5/3&4YO NW10
(3) QUEEN LOSTRIS N drops out of the Great Northeast Open Series at Pocono and the Open and Preferred at Yonkers back to this level tonight. (1) VALUABLE ART was racing well at Yonkers and then returned to Delaware to race in the Open twice at Harrington. Major threat from the pole. (8) WRITE ME A SONG has good form from out-of-town but draws outside tonight and will need all of Bartlett's skills.
Race 11 - NW20000L5/30000CLM Trot
(4) LORD CROMWELL stepped it up over at Pocono by winning two straight and makes his Yonkers return for this card. Worked his way up to the Open here earlier this year, so this is much easier company than that. (2) NEWCASTLE also ships back to Westchester tonight after picking up a win at Harrah's Philly. We'll see if he can put up another good effort. (1) BUEN CAMINO also made it up to the Open here at Yonkers a couple months back before heading elsewhere. Last two at the Meadowlands were solid.
Race 12 - NW20000L5 Pace
(5) OSTRO HANOVER just missed beating the NW30000L5 class at Yonkers two back and then closed strongly against a classy bunch over at Pocono. Switches to Dube tonight. (4) CASUAL COOL kept Marohn Jr. over my top pick, and he's also in good form. Absolutely romped in a big mile against the NW10000L5 group when last seen in Westchester. (1) BARIMAH A got a long awaited win last time at the Meadowlands and gives Yonkers another shot tonight. Had some success here earlier this year, including a win in this class.
