Race 1
(2) LYNBAR ROSE N looks like a good drop-and-pop candidate here. Just toured the track from post eight last Friday night against better, gets an improved post tonight, and goes back to Stratton, who got along with her well. (3) STELLENBOSCH finished evenly from the pocket against some good ones on April 12 over at the Meadowlands. Was stuck behind the eight-ball three straight at Yonkers before that race, so this is some much needed post relief. (1) SCANDALICIOUS returns to the rail draw after having post eight a week ago. Wired up a field in this same NW20000L5 company two back.
Race 2
(5) SUMATRA grabbed one win at Yonkers on April 5 in between appearances at the Open level at Freehold, and now returns to Westchester tonight at the same level he was victorious at earlier this month. Bartlett picks up the steer. (6) GOLDEN KRONOS did well against this company at Yonkers back in February, and also ships back from out-of-town. Let's see if he can get back on-track tonight. (2) BLACK MAMBA AS had things his own way on April 12 and fell short, finishing second. I'll put him underneath off that effort and expected wagering attention.
Race 3
(5) HEEZ ORL BLACK N just fell shy last week against two classy veterans in Military Master A and Doctor Butch after a pocket trip. Switches back to claiming company tonight, and we'll hope this is the spot he can get his first win of 2019. (3) DEERFIELD BEACH never really got involved last time out in a race dominated on the front-end. Changes barns to Ruiz and goes to Brennan in the bike tonight, so maybe we'll see him try an up-close or on-the-lead style on this occasion. (4) RURAL ART battled gamely in the final quarter on the lead a week ago, but got picked off by a rallying, pylon-skimming winner. Got claimed by Fusco and Dube picked him over two others.
Race 4
(2) VALUABLE ART invades tonight from Delaware where she was racing against stout competition. Had post eight coming off a sick scratch last time at Harrington, so I'll just toss that out and focus on her rallying second-place finish on 3-27 at Dover to Bettorhaveanother, who has a win and a third against Opens at Yonkers since shipping north. (3) ANGEL'S PRIDE knocked heads against Blue Chip Matchmaker Series competition in March and April, and was in the Opens before that, so this is some much-needed class relief. (4) SANSOVINA HANOVER competed for Burke through her 2-year-old and 3-year-old campaigns, raced for Doug Snyder for awhile, and is now with Burke again. Ships east off two straight nice wins at The Meadows and will likely get some attention from the bettors.
Race 5
(4) LIMERENCE steps down from NW30000L5's to NW20000L5's tonight, and that puts him back in play for me in this wide-open contest. His one appearance at this level was a good second to Madman Hall, who went to the front and strolled through easy fractions on his way to the win. (3) CRAZYCAT lost all chance last week when he got knocked off-stride, so just throw that race out and hope for a clean journey this evening. (1) TIDQUIST gets post relief after having to leave from the eight and the six the last two weeks, so he'll probably be more involved this time around.
Race 6
(2) ER ROCK MY WORLD folded on the lead last week, but heads back to the Robertson barn off the claim and gets Brennan back in the bike. That was the trainer/driver tandem in his impressive victory over claiming handicap company on April 11. (6) PICKLED PREACHER has raced well in two straight at this level without receiving much attention from the wagering public. Finished well in the final quarter last time. (4) INSPIRATION VIEW delivered in his debut for the Harris barn and stays at the same level. Does move out to post four this week.
Race 7
(6) TEQUILA MONDAY has been great since coming back, now gets to test the Opens at Yonkers. Rolled in a big mile last time out at Pocono, and Kakaley, who drove her over there, retains the drive. (4) ALEXA'S POWER tried hard from first-over last Friday night, but couldn't hold off Made Of Jewels AS, who followed her cover. Was another improved effort, and she does have the post advantage over Tequila Monday. (7) LISPATTY hasn't done anything wrong since dropping out of the Matchmaker. Does step up tonight, but she has won at the top level before, and she has the speed to overcome post seven, too.
Race 8
(3) YS LOTUS finally has the needed better post to go with the class relief he got last Friday night when he had post eight. The last time he had both a solid draw and raced at this level, he was a clear winner on March 7. (10) FULLBACK was sensational against NW5000L5's, romping to a win, but is stuck with the dreaded post ten tonight on the class hike. Bartlett goes into the bike, and was his choice of three, so let's see how he works things out. (5) RAINBOW ROMANCE N exits NW20000L5's and gets back in against the NW10000L5 class tonight where he was victorious on April 1. Brennan steered him to that triumph, and he's back aboard tonight.
Race 9
(3) WESTSLUCKYCAM makes her return to Yonkers tonight after a second and a win at Saratoga. Has been sharp since the Godinez claim, and retuns to the same level she was at when she departed Westchester by entering for the claiming tag. (1) CHEYENNE TRIENGEL delivered an upset at this level on April 5 and now gets to drop after one post eight start against better. Goes from the worst draw to the pole, which is where she started when she won. (7) JANUARY A closed nicely in the final quarter back on April 12, going from seventh to fourth in the last quarter. Bad post tonight but hopefully she can work out a trip.
Race 10
(6) QUEEN LOSTRIS N moves down the class ladder from the Preferred to NW30000L5. Might have to grind it out since she lacks early foot, but she did that successfully in a win at the Preferred level on April 5. (5) MAGIC FORCES appeared in all five weeks of the Matchmaker Series and the consolation, with a best finish of third on April 12. Gets needed class relief tonight. (2) LOVINEVERYMINUTE steps down from the Preferred as well, and has a post edge over my top two choices.
