BEST BETS: 6 - 21 / $42.40
Race 1
(5) ZIGGY SKY gets serious post relief in his second try off the dropdown; using. (2) WILD AGAIN was a sharp second in his latest and Bartlett sticks with this pacer; threat. (6) SWIFT AS A SHADOW will be rallying late when the smoke clears.
Race 2
(1) LIFE WELL LIVED seems to be knocking at the door based on his last three starts and in his last try he came close to getting the job done in his Meadowlands finale; gets the call. (3) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME was not going to get past a tough Try Try Again in his latest; must be considered against these. (4) SOUTHWIND CRUZE has done quite well in his last two outings so he is clearly not out of this.
Race 3
(2) KAYS DELIGHT put in a rallying second in her last try. Mare stays in same company and he surely fits with these; the pick. (4) STELLENBOSCH did not race badly in her last start and she does have the positional speed to get an ideal stalking trip; main danger. (3) BETABCOOL N was sent down the road in her Saratoga finale for the victory; do not overlook.
Race 4
(5) JM JACK OF HEARTS flashed good early pace and was game in deep stretch holding on for the placing recently. Gelding appears to be starting on a good foot in 2019 and should be ready to boss these and greet the cameraman for pictures. (6) PERSISTENT THREAT A put in a good run in his 2019 debut. Post hurts tonight but he is very capable. (2) LUCIANO N moves down in class and Brennan has the assignment; watch out.
Race 5
(1) DRAZZMATAZZ did not get the job done at odds-on last time out but the good news is the gelding draws the fence and he makes his second start off the dropdown. If he is at his best he can make tonight a winning one. (2) SUMATRA put in a sharp qualifier at Freehold on 2/22 and he is making his first start of the new year; big threat. (4) LILYS SWAN POND leaves the Open ranks and he has tactical speed to stay close; respect.
Race 6
(6) DELIGHTFULMEMPHISN did not fire in her last try but she is much better than her last flop and she has gotten the job done at this level. If the right trip comes her way she can top these with Bartlett at the helm. (7) LISPATTY was sent down the road in her last start for the victory; main danger. (5) LAKEISHA HALL qualifier was quite good at the Meadowlands on 3/1; must be considered.
Race 7
(3) BETTIM JACKIE seems to be moving in the right direction as she just missed the score by a half length last time out. She can take these to task with a well-judged run. (1) DUDESALADY will need a better setup in order for her to make an impact with these and she does retain the fence. (2) LYNBAR ROSE N put in a mild rally to lose glory by a neck recently; not out of this.
Race 8
(3) PRETTY BOY SWAG was fourth best in his last trip to the post and now he gets serious post relief and that should be the ticket he needs to make it back into the winner's circle. (4) PRINCE OF POPS N was on the lead most of the way but was nailed for win honors in his last start; must be considered in all the exotic slots. (7) FIRST CLASS HORSE rallied strongly to land the victory last out. Gets a tough draw but he can be right in the mix.
Race 9
(5) CAROBBEAN PACETRY showed good speed in her last two tries so with that said the mare can move forward with a well-timed drive. (1) SCANDALICIOUS leaves door number seven for the fence and takes a slight drop in class. big threat. Meadows invader (6) MAGIC FORCES is coming off a nice score but he gets a tough post tonight. Do not overlook with Brennan at the controls.
Race 10
(3) AMATEUR HOUR gets the luck of the draw and she does have positional speed. If she is at her best the rest will have to settle for minor awards. (5) WISHY WASHY GIRL has been trying hard in her last four starts and she is seeking her first 2019 victory; must be considered. (4) JAG OUT took them all the way for the score recently. Can be right in the mix despite the rise in condition.
Race 11
Will give (4) SEVENS HOPE A a shot at glory. Gelding does move to door number four which very much puts him in the ballpark with these; using. (1) CONTROL TOWER closed well for the victory at this level last out and now he moves to the fence; the one to deny. (5) TWIN B SPEED DIAL just held on for win honors in his latest; must be respected.
Race 12
(2) IWILLMAKEYOUSAYWOW came very wide to mow them down for the score last time around. Gelding might handle the rise in class and based on his first attempt here he could repeat. (4) BLOOD BROTHER rallied strongly to grab the show spot in his 2019 debut; big factor. (3) SCOTCH MCEWAN gets serious post relief and that should help his cause; dangerous.
