Yonkers: Friday 3/6 Analysis

MEET STATS: 80 - 241 / $430.40 (-$51.50)
BEST BETS: 12 - 21 / $39.50 (-$2.50)
Best Bet: WHOS BETTER (4th)
Spot Play: LILY’S SWAN POND (2nd)
Race 1 – $20,000 Claiming
(1) ZOEEZ BOY HENRY is by no means a prolific winner but he lands in a soft spot tonight off a respectable first-over effort last week and he was Siegelman’s choice. (6) MARK WITH A K drops in for a tag and he seems fast enough to compete here. (4) HOPETOBEFIRST was a bit better last out and he will be a decent price. (3) MACH ONE can round out the rest.
Race 2 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(3) LILY’S SWAN POND gets needed class and post relief tonight and the Surick-trained veteran should be on the move early from this spot. (5) IN SECRET faltered on the front end in his local return but he still must be considered a major player here. (8) WHETHER OR NOT FI was certainly ready to go coming off the shelf but overcoming the eight hole may be too tall of an order. (4) MAJESTIC BRAYDEN qualified well for Team Bongiorno but use caution as he’s coming off a couple of breaks.
Race 3 - $20,000/$25,000 Claiming
(3) LACHIE MAGUIRE N raced pretty well from the eight hole last week and had some late pace in traffic; he should be in line for a live trip, possibly stalking (2) TALK SHOW, and he seems overdue for a win. The latter was ambitiously placed in his last couple and quickly fell out of form; will the Banca trainee bounce back from this more legitimate spot? (4) REGGIANO closed well last out and now moves to the Ruiz barn off the reclaim; late threat. (1) SANATTLE SLEW tired off an uncovered trip last week but his prior efforts sitting along the pylons were good.
Race 4 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(1) WHOS BETTER was curiously driven last out and ended up getting baked in a speed duel; Lance Hudson trainee will look to make amends here. (2) SOHO LEVIATHAN A seemed a bit overmatched facing $40K claimers; Vallee charge gets needed class relief and Bartlett picks up the catch-drive. (5) FIREBALL dropped to this level last out and was treated very rudely by the top choice; give him another chance. (4) MUSIC IS ART returns from The Meadowlands where he was a solid second two back.
Race 5 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(1) MADAME LEZA A had a pretty productive U.S. debut seeming to finish with willing pace and I suspect the recent import will take plenty of wagering activity from this spot. (7) CLASSY CHAPEL N is saddled with another tough post but she had plenty of finishing pace last week. (4) ANN HILL hiked back to this level last out and raced fine; board threat. (2) AMAZING ARYA will be more involved with the move inside.
Race 6 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) BELTANE A raced well in his initial two starts after arriving from Down-Under then had no chance from the eight hole last start; the Lance Hudson barn has been a bit slow to get underway this season but this 6-year-old looks to be in a prime spot. (1) FIZZING N moves inside and should be in line for a live trip. (5) SECRECY beat up on lesser last week and while he gets tested for class he’s been undeniably sharp. (3) BACKSTREET LAWYER could show more in his second start after returning to the east coast.
Race 7 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(3) CAVAIRT CHERIE is starting to regain some of that form that made her a big earner in prior years and she meets a pretty soft field in her move up the ladder. (1) SALLY FLETCHER A makes her first start since last September but she looks ready to go off that qualifier. (2) ROSE RUN UPTOWNGAL hasn’t won in quite a while but she’s been close in recent efforts. (4) BERAZZLED returns locally off a nice off-the-pace score at Saratoga.
Race 8 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(4) SHES PUKKA N may have rated too soft a pace last out which invited harsh pressure and she could not hold off that challenge; Croghan trainee does have the talent and I’ll give her another try. (6) NEVERFORGETWHOUR returns from The Meadowlands and seems to fit nicely with these. (2) ANNABETH was a bit below par in her last couple and now she’s missed some time but we know she’s capable of better. (5) HIGH ROLLING A is up a notch in class off a game score.
Race 9 – F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts
(4) MONICA GALLAGHER was on cruise control in her 2020 debut and she’s classy enough to repeat facing better. (1) THE CHARGING MOA N should be in line for a live trip from this spot. (3) ROCKIN THE BOYS A returns locally and was racing well when last seen here. (5) CRYSTAL SPARKLES N may be ready to show a bit more in her second U.S. start.
Race 10 – F&M Preferred Handicap Pace
(6) ITTY BITTY has been a model of consistency for Allard and she’s coming off a tough-trip third from last week; mare is more than capable here with smooth sailing. (7) SANDY WIN has also done nothing wrong and that was a good try last out chasing home the well-rated winner; the post hurts but the price will be decent. (5) LADY DELA RENTA A should be ready to go off that qualifier and she does have a post edge on some of her main rivals. (2) GOLD ORCHID N did make well over six figures last season and she’s another coming off a qualifier.
Race 11 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(1) BARRY BLACK gets class relief, post relief, and a switch to Marohn, who steered this veteran to his last two wins. (4) THE LAST CHAPTER has hit the board in five of six this year; consistent trotter must be included. (5) SOUTHWIND CRUZE looks for two straight for Jenn/Joe. (8) CASINO CUTIE IT was full of late energy and just missed at a big price in her seasonal debut.
Race 12 – F&M NW31000 in last 5 starts
(5) DELISHKA N ships north from Dover where she was facing some good stock, enters the Banca barn and gets Bartlett in the bike; routine selecting. Only concern is the missed time. (4) SANDY’S BEACH is starting to get a bit camera-shy but she still rates highly. (8) SUDDEN CHANGE N is reunited with Brennan; fires from the gate? (6) BETTERB CHEVRON N is still trying to get some footing under her for Lance Hudson.
