Race 1 - $10,000 Claiming
(6) BEYONDTHESILENCE N was hounded into submission last week and can be excused for that effort; Tritton-trained veteran still seems the best of these and deserves top billing. (7) TOP OF THE MARK cut the pace and was nipped at the wire by a rival who came back with another good effort; Bartlett driving an Andrew Harris trainee obviously deserves respect but drawing outside of the top choice doesn’t help. (2) MASTER THE VIEW was a bit better last start and should land a share again. (4) BETTORIFFIC has shown absolutely nothing in three local starts for DiDomenico but he’s entered again so maybe they expect some improvement.
Race 2 - $20,000/$25,000 Claiming
(6) TALK SHOW has been rock-solid since returning for Banca and he drops in for a tag tonight; this looks like a better classification than going to NW20000 and the gelding should handle these. (2) ER ROCK MY WORLD sat a nice trip last week but had no visible excuse; he goes for Harris now off the claim. (4) AMERICAN INFLUENCE didn’t fire his best shot last out but his prior two efforts were great. (1) THE ONLYEST ONE has good enough Freehold form to think he will fit well here.
Race 3 - $12,500 Claiming
(3) LET’S FOAL AROUND hasn’t been that bad recently yet he plunges in class tonight; I’m not that concerned because Banca isn’t afraid to lose one and he puts them where they can win. (5) DAVIDS COMING HOME took advantage of a duel up front and pounced on the leaders to win going away upon shipping in; sharp sort should be a major player again. (1) REDONKULOUS was way overbet last week and never gained an inch when stacked up with bad cover; he goes for another new barn off the claim and the post relief will help. (2) KABOOM POW was a good second to a runaway winner last week.
Race 4 – F&M NW15250 in last 5 starts
(1) AMATEUR HOUR has been deceptively sharp of late and she just missed from a similar spot two back. (2) TIPP CITY was the pick last week but she didn’t fire trying to make a second move; inside post clearly helps tonight. (6) BRONSKIMACKENZIE A gets Bartlett to drive in her local return and she’s hit the board in her last five at Freehold. (3) AMERICAN EMPRESS N has been racing just evenly of late but she does get some class relief.
Race 5 – F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts
(5) SNOBBYTOWN blitzed through the NW conditioned ranks here at the end of last season and the Burke trainee has remained equally sharp this year; 4-year-old looks like the one to beat here. (2) MADE OF JEWELS AS lands inside again and she does fit with these. (1) WISHY WASHY GIRL qualified effectively enough and could be ready for action in her 2020 debut. (3) AMBRO COURAGE N was a solid second in her first seasonal start and while she does face a bit better here she should offer good value.
Race 6 - $20,000 Claiming
(2) DOJEA SOLO doesn’t have the greatest win profile but the Banca trainee has been sharp and he lands in a very favorable spot tonight. (1) ROCK ON PRECIOUS gets much-needed post relief making his third start for these connections and the veteran will be more involved. (4) DAVID THE SAINT steps up in class and has been reasonably good in his recent. (7) RUPP lands another poor post but he could be a closing threat at a big price.
Race 7 - $25,000 Claiming
(2) TAKEITTOTHEFACE was aggressively handled last week by Brennan and he put in a big effort at 52/1; Burke trainee finally sees a good post and deserves following. (3) RECORD MACHINE was a good second off the Banca claim and he’s back in for a tag tonight; Bartlett stays. (6) GOKUDO HANOVER was surprisingly put in for a $20K tag and won easily then was stuffed in the same class and was predictably claimed when taking his second straight; the fact that his connections were willing to lose him makes me nervous here so I’ll let him beat me. (1) LINKJACK HANOVER steps up off the DiDomenico claim and draws best.
Race 8 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(2) STARLIGHT AS was a solid eight-hole winner last out versus lesser where he kept chugging to nail the leader; Lorentzon trainee seems sharp enough to handle better. (5) CRAZYCAT has been good in all recent starts and will be a big player if he minds his manners. (4) VOLARE has been good for the streaking Allard barn since returning locally; he’s up in class for the third consecutive start but seems capable of hitting the ticket. (1) LIFE WELL LIVED was game in defeat last out.
Race 9 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(3) CLASSY CHAPEL N appeared to have some late pace in her 2020 debut but didn’t have much stretch clearance; Bartlett sticks with the Banca trainee. (4) CABOWABOCUTTIE has been close-up in all recent starts and she gets some class relief. (2) HALF A VIRGIN can save ground from this spot and land a share. (1) COLOR ENVY is up in class after getting claimed away from Allard; mare looks for three of four overall but don’t take too short of a price.
Race 10 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(1) CHASIN’ DREAMS looks ready to go off those two qualifiers and anything from Lorentzon must be respected, especially with Bartlett driving. (4) ARABELLA’S CADET enjoyed a live trip and kicked home strongly to upset last week; Lance Hudson trainee is clearly capable of repeating. (2) LILY’S SWAN POND is at his best against a notch or two lesser but he should be close up throughout. Both (5) MAJESTIC MOMENT N and (3) UNCLE LEO are capable but both are coming off breaks last week.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(6) WESTERN BEACHBOY got stuck with two eight holes off the DiDomenico claim and rallied well both times; he only gets moderate post relief tonight but it may be enough for Brennan to get aggressive. (2) DOCTOR BUTCH goes for Annunziata now after a long run in the Banca barn; he obviously can go with these if ready off the layoff. (4) HEREHECOMESAROCKIN successfully dropped and popped last week when he took all the money; gelding should be competitive here. (3) ACTING OUT was totally uninvolved last week…unusual for a Banca horse with Bartlett steering.
