BEST BET - NEW HEAVEN (2nd)
SPOT PLAY - DEMI HILL (7th)
Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(3) HORSING AROUND draws the best post he's had in a while, so I'm hoping that'll allow Stratton to have him a little bit closer to the front like back when he won on 10-17. (5) MAN HE CAN SKOOT has not fired for the Bongiornos yet, but he does get some post relief tonight after a seven and an eighth in his last two starts. (6) BROOKIES PRINCE N raced well last Friday on the driver change to Kakaley and he's back to handle him again tonight from a similar draw.
Race 2 - NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Trot
(2) NEW HEAVEN returns to Yonkers after one start at the Meadowlands against some solid foes. He gets post and class relief off his last rallying effort in Westchester. (6) TROTTING GRACE was super-sharp off the two qualifiers last Friday, winning pretty easily from post eight after Kakaley got her a pocket trip. She gets another crack at this level off the win. (3) WINNING SHADOW had little chance a week ago when he had post eight, but he gets back in the game with an inside draw tonight.
Race 3 - 20000-25000CLM HCP Pace
(3) WIND BLAST was flying on end of the mile last Friday to finish third. Draws well again tonight, and Stratton might put him on the lead this time like in his win on 10-17. (2) DIAMOND COWBOY has hit the board in three straight, including two runner-up finishes in-a-row. He's been pretty win-shy, so I'll put him underneath again. (1) OUR REGAL IDEAL N was hampered with post seven in his two tries at Harrah's Philly. He returns to Yonkers tonight and gets the pole, plus he was Brennan's choice in here.
Race 4 - F&M NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(4) LYONS RIVER PRIDE continues to drop in search of a winning level. She was second against NW30000L5's last month, and if she would come with that sort of effort, she'd be hard to top here. (1) VORST returns to Yonkers tonight after racing in Pennsylvania in her last three. She gets a new set of hands in Brennan and I'm expecting a pretty aggressive drive. (5) SHEZALLAPPLES A ships back down from Saratoga. I think she might be one level too high to be a win threat, but I could see her rallying to hit the ticket.
Race 5 - 25000-30000CLM HCP Pace
(7) WINDSONG JACK gets an outside post but has shown enough speed to overcome these types of spots before, and he's also won from well out of it. I like that versatility, and he also drops out of the $40,000 claimers. (5) MACHLICIOUS has been racing well for an extended period of time and was an impressive winner at this level last Friday. (3) DREAM OUT LOUD N shifts to claiming company tonight. He won two back over NW7500L5's here and got bet a week ago against NW15000L5's.
Race 6 - 20000CLM Pace
(3) LONG TRAIN RUNNIN makes a bunch of changes tonight, switching barns, drivers, and classes by dropping down from the $25,000 claiming level. He won against the $25,000-$30,000 claiming handicap horses recently, and his new trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. has been winning his share of races lately in Westchester. (2) VEGAS ROCKS finished up very well in the the second qualifier, which was at Yonkers. He was racing against much better than these when last seen, so he's a big threat. (6) REGGIANO made one start against $25,000 claimers and now drops back down. He won at this level two back.
Race 7 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM/Winners of NW15000L5 in Last Start Pace
(2) DEMI HILL couldn't get involved back on 11-1 when she had post ten in an added distance race. She gets some class relief, a good draw, and returns to the flat mile distance tonight, so I will give her a shot and hope for some value. (4) SCANDALICIOUS is often a big threat in this class. Kakaley knows her and has won with her over at Pocono, and she also shifts back to a one-mile race with a slightly better post as well. (5) LAKEISHA HALL hasn't won locally since coming east but was a solid second in both her tries at this level. She has been more prone to finishing underneath this year with 11 seconds, so I'll try and beat her at an expected short price.
Race 8 - F&M NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(1) MILLIONDOLLARGEM A got her initial U.S. start under her belt last Friday, and now I'll look for improvement in the second appearance with a little class relief and from the pole position. (5) TIPP CITY usually does some of her best racing in this class and drops down to it tonight. Kakaley handles her again as well. (4) YS TALLIA moves inside on the gate this time, sliding in from post seven to post four. She has closed with interest in her last two.
Race 9 - NW20250L5/30000CLM/Winners of NW15000L5 in Last Start Trot
(1) LORD CROMWELL performed well in both those Meadowlands tries and now returns to Yonkers in a lower class than when he was last seen in Westchester. Loses Bartlett tonight, but I prefer him from the rail with Kakaley taking over. (5) ICANFLYLIKEANANGEL is the one Bartlett took, and that's understandable since he won last Friday on the drop down to this level. He gets another shot at this company tonight and moves to post five from post seven. (2) SUMATRA squeezes into this race just under the money-won condition in the last five starts. He did well in both his starts at Harrah's Philly and has plenty of racing experience at Yonkers as well.
Race 10 - F&M NW24400L5/30000CLM/Winners of NW15000L5 in Last Start Pace
(3) ANGEL'S PRIDE never got involved from post seven last Friday, but she receives both post and class relief tonight, so I think Siegelman has to be aggressive with her this time. She's certainly capable of beating these. (2) BARON REMY retained Brennan over my top choice. She's hit the board in both her chances at this level and gets a draw on the gate tonight after having post nine a week ago. (6) CAY'S BLESSING pretty much dominated in her debut for Banca last week. She draws outside what look to be the other contenders here, so I'll put her underneath them this time.
