SHOW THE FASHION (4th)
SPOT PLAY - LIVINGINTHEDREAM (8th)
Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(1) SEELEY MAN was red-hot before he went on the shelf, including a win at a higher level on 5-21. Qualified well, and the connections might want to strike while the iron's hot given the gaps in this guy's schedule. (5) TJ BLAST took one shot against better on 9-26 and now drops back to this class. Easy win back on 9-19 when last seen against these types, and it was from this post. (3) TWOMACSONESHADOW has hit the board in his last two and kept Holland over another one in here.
Race 2 - NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Trot
(2) KADABRA QUEEN has two good efforts recently at this level. That was a pretty deep group of NW20000L5's she was in against last Friday, and she was an even fourth. Draws well again too. (4) NEWCASTLE came up empty back on 9-13, but he's gotten a bit of time off since then. Some of his other recent miles would make him tough here. (5) LEAN HANOVER closed strongly a week ago, and gets a bit of post relief with the move to post five from post seven.
Race 3 - 20000CLM Pace
(4) SHOW THE FASHION shifts back to claiming company here after stomping a group of NW7500L5's in his third start for DiDomenico. That was an impressive performance, and anything close to that would be enough here. (1) BUGGER BRUISER draws inside tonight and gets a notable driver change with Bartlett taking over. (3) ER ROCK MY WORLD is another one in here with post relief, sliding inside on the gate from the seven-hole to the three. Rallied well in the back-half of that mile on 9-26.
Race 4 - 25000CLM Pace
(3) ONLYTHETUFFSURVIVE had no luck at the draw in his last two, starting from the seven and the six, but it was much kinder to him tonight as he has the three-hole. Should be closer to the pace tonight, though he did rally nicely from off-the-pace last Friday. (2) STATESMAN N was in sharp form but then also was saddled with outside posts in his last three tries. Has post two to work with tonight, and I expect aggressive handling by Bongiorno. (6) PROLOGUE was an impressive winner last Thursday. The Allard barn has been firing across-the-board lately, and Marohn Jr. chose to drive this horse.
Race 5 - F&M NW30000L5 / 3&4YO F&M NW10 Pace
(1) IMPRINCESSGEMMA A steps up tonight but retains the rail, and given the way she finished off her mile last week, I think there's plenty more on offer. (5) LYONS RIVER PRIDE closed stoutly when last seen locally on 9-13, and then put in two good miles over at Pocono as well. She seems to be very versatile. (2) QUITE A SIGHT gets to drop out of the Open this week. Took a big shot at this level on 9-20 and just got picked off by the classy Kaitlyn N.
Race 6 - F&M Open Handicap Pace
(7) FEELIN RED HOT took last week off but is back tonight from her usual outside post. I think the strategy is obvious here, and she's definitely capable of going wire-to-wire again. (6) BETTERB CHEVRON N totally changed tactics last week and was superbly handled by Stratton, taking that group gate-to-wire. With Feelin Red Hot back this week, it'll be interesting to see what they decide to do this time. (2) LADY DELA RENTA A gained ground and spots in her Open-level debut on 9-20 but was too far back. Draws well tonight, so that might put her in play.
Race 7 - 25000-30000CLM HCP Pace
(4) COMMENTARIAT raced well from post seven last week, closing to get third. He draws the best of the $30,000 claimers in here, and I think his best game is actually speed like he showed down at Harrah's Philly, so a better draw will give Brennan that option. (2) AMERICAN VENTURE returns to DiDomenico off the claim tonight. Went too fast on the front-end last Friday, but he won two straight for DiDomenico on 9-13 and 9-20. (5) LONG TRAIN RUNNIN is a newcomer from Ohio, entering the Rob Harmon barn. Looks like he has plenty of early pep based on those lines in the Buckeye State, and he scored a nice win three back.
Race 8 - F&M NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(3) LIVINGINTHEDREAM closed nicely a week ago at this level, and gets to start from post three again. Stratton picked off, but this one has some sneaky form, I think, and might offer a bit of a price. (5) ROSE RUN TONI put in a huge effort last Friday, coming first-over and just wearing them down. Stratton stuck with her, and as mentioned earlier, Allard's barn is red-hot. (1) KOTARE YARRA N has the rail again this week, but she was no match for Rose Run Toni last week, and I can't see that changing.
Race 9 - F&M NW15000L5/25000CLM/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(4) TIPP CITY needed the old passing lane at Yonkers last Friday, but unfortunately for her and her connections, that wasn't available and she couldn't get free until too late. I imagine she'll get bet off the trouble line, but she's definitely capable of beating these with a clean trip. (3) SUDDEN CHANGE N steps up a bit in class tonight, but she's been good in both efforts for DiDomenico, including a down-the-road effort from post eight last time out. (6) ITTY BITTY makes her return to Yonkers tonight after spending recent weeks at Saratoga and Pocono. She was a winner at the Open level twice back in the winter, so she is definitely a threat in this company.
Race 10 - NW20000L5/30000CLM/Winners of NW15000L5 in Last Start Trot
(5) SUMATRA receives the class drop he's been looking for tonight. Rolled to a clear win from first-over the last time he got to race against NW20000L5's back on 7-12, and Bartlett has the call. (1) STORMY KROMER has also been in a higher class lately and gets some relief. Also has the rail tonight, so Dube will probably be aggressive. (3) LINDSEY'S PRIDE rallied impressively last Friday to get the win at the added distance. Returns to the flat mile tonight and draws better.
Race 11 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM/Winners of NW15000L5 in Last Start Pace
(2) VORST ships back in to Westchester tonight after being over at Pocono for her last four attempts. Beat the NW20000L5's from off-the-pace when last seen locally on 8-15, and I'll give her a shot from a good draw. (5) BROWN BRINNY was claimed by Ruiz last Friday, but she's been good for whomever has had her lately. Bartlett picked off, but Stratton is a fine replacement. (1) JANUARY A gets the pole tonight after being out in post five in her last two miles. That was a pretty deep group she was in against last Friday.
