Best Bet: MAJESTIC MOMENT N (2nd)
Spot Play: COLOR ENVY (3rd)
Race 1 - $25,000 Claiming
Classy veteran (3) STATESMAN N dropped in class last start and got back into the win column with a game front-end score. Team Bongiorno trainee bumps back up a notch and seems capable of repeating using similar tactics. (8) AMERICAN VENTURE has found renewed life in the DiDomenico barn and has the speed to overcome the outside post; gelding is a prime contender here. (1) ONLYTHETUFFSURVIVE has raced very well in his last three at this level and the Banca trainee draws best. (4) NERVE OF STEEL N drops back to the level of last month’s claim and moves in a few spots.
Race 2 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(4) MAJESTIC MOMENT N has really clicked in his last two after a rough patch upon arrival for Tritton and he seems sharp enough to handle better. (2) MISSISSIPPI STORM gets needed class and post relief; a better effort is expected. (7) SOUTHWIND CRUZE is done no favors by the poor post draw but he’ll land a good share with smooth sailing. (5) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR goes for another new barn tonight while in great form but he does face tougher here.
Race 3 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(3) COLOR ENVY hinted at strong ability here versus age-restricted types and Stratton sticks with the Lance Hudson mare over a Tritton trainee; good post offers tactical options. (2) ROSE RUN TONI has been consistent with this type for an extended period of time. (4) FIREBBY A was outfinished on the wire last week in her local return but she should be heard from in the early stages again. (1) BELIEVE IN ME can save ground and round out the rest.
Race 4 - $25,000/$30,000 Claiming
(4) WINDSONG JACK was close-up last week and stays at a competitive level for a barn that’s had some success here; Brennan will likely be on the move early with the veteran. (3) LONG TRAIN RUNNIN has finished strongly in his two local starts after shipping from Ohio. (1) TRIPLE SEELSTER faces a bit better off the Temming reclaim but he does have solid speed from the best post. (5) DO OVER HANOVER was game in defeat last week and he goes back to Dube.
Race 5 – F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts
(3) BRONZE OVER N rode the rail to a decent finish last week and the DiDomenico trainee fits well at this level; some value could be offered, as well. (2) BARON REMY has obvious ability for Burke but did break in a local start a couple of months ago; use caution. (1) YS TALLIA promises to be much more involved from this good inside post. (6) ANNIE HILL faltered on the front end last week but the Oakes trainee will likely be off the pace tonight and could be a late threat.
Race 6 – F&M Open Handicap Pace
(6) TEQUILA MONDAY is rightfully assigned the outside post off last week’s well-rated front-end victory; if Goodell gets her in play again and isn’t too hard-used she can repeat. (4) ROBYN CAMDEN is an improving 4-year-old for Allard and she’s quickly proven that she can go with this type. (5) IMPRINCESSGEMMA A has done nothing wrong since arriving in the U.S. for Jenn Bongiorno. (3) WRITE ME A SONG wasn’t all that far off the winner after being uncovered in her local return and the Burke trainee is another one to consider here.
Race 7 – F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts
(6) ANN HILL stormed home from last to light up the tote board last week and the Chris Height trainee has been razor-sharp in all recent; she seems capable again with a live trip at a decent price. (5) SHADY CAROLINE has hit the ticket in her last three and Holland could be out and winging early. (3) VELOCITY MCSWEETS was able to rate a very kind pace and disposed of lesser last out; she’ll likely have to go faster to repeat but seems capable. (1) A CRAFTY LADY should be close-up throughout.
Race 8 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(3) IM THE MUSCLE returns locally for Allard now recently with Lasix added and the trotter gets some class relief from a good post. (1) MONEY MAVEN isn’t the most consistent sort anymore but one of his better efforts will give this veteran a big chance. (6) NEW HEAVEN was no match for the winner last week but the Abbatiello trainee can’t be ignored with this type. (8) DW’S NY YANK is still getting the job done at age 10 for Burke and he does have speed but may be done in by the awful post.
Race 9 – F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts
(2) GOLD ORCHID N seems to have found her stride in her last few out of town and she returns to Yonkers with a cozy post; top billing. (1) THE CHARGING MOA N is another in a long, long line of promising-looking Down-under imports and she bumps up the ladder looking to stay perfect in the U.S. (6) LAKEISHA HALL will be on the move early with Brennan but she’s been coming up a bit short recently. (7) ROCKIN THE BOYS A will be a big price for good connections; use underneath?
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(8) IDEAL COWBOY was able to blast to the front quickly last week then had a solid second move to get it done and the gelding stays at the same level; he may be sharp enough to consider, even from post eight. (3) CAVIART REAGAN woke up with a better effort but still couldn’t seal the deal; he’ll be a player again but is tough to take at a short price. (4) NITRO GLISTENING took all the action from the eight hole and blew away lesser; sharp sort could be considered facing better. (6) SPORTS BETTOR fits well with these but would be rated higher with an inside post.
Race 11 – F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts
(3) MISS YOU N likely needed that last start, where she was never a player with Open types but wasn’t that far off at the finish; Croghan trainee can show more tonight. (5) LISPATTY is a legit Open player who should appreciate the class relief; she tries a new pilot tonight in Bongoirno. (2) ANGEL’S PRIDE has a post edge on her main competition and could very well be cutting this mile. (6) JEWELS FORREAL has been first or second in all recent starts for a sharp outfit.
