Best Bet: LILY’S SWAN POND (9th)
Spot Play: OUR ZAK WHITBY A (2nd)
MEET STATS: 183 - 883 / $1,326.70
BEST BETS: 23 - 82 / $109.00
Race 1
(3) LONE SURVIVOR raced evenly in his last try so if the right trip comes his way he could get the job done. (6) DEDI'S DRAGON has been quite good in his last five tries and he appears to be the main danger. (8) ONE AND ONLY has good speed and that is what he needs to overcome door number eight; watch out.
Race 2
(4) OUR ZAK WHITBY A came wide at the three-quarter pole and lost glory by a neck last out; the drop in class can put him forward against these; the pick. (1) ZACH MAGUIRE N gets post relief and that should help his cause. (3) CENTURY CHURCHILL closed well to get the job done in his last try; factor despite the rise in class.
Race 3
(8) FEEL THE NEED A was sent down the road in his latest for all the glory. Gets a tough draw however he clearly fits with this group so two straight is not out of the question. (4) ARDIE B SPEED gets serious post relief. Could return to his winning ways if he return to his September 28 trip. (5) STATESMAN N flashed good speed in his Pocono finale and gets Bartlett tonight; not out of this.
Race 4
(4) MIDWAY ISLAND came down the center of the track to make last week a winning one. Gelding stays in same condition and Brennan stays in the bike; can repeat. (1) SOHO LENNON A returns to the fence where he took them wire-to-wire two starts back; big threat. (8) THE REAL ONE is knocking at the door based on his last three outings; do not overlook despite the move to the far outside slot.
Race 5
(5) SHEEZA SHARK N has put in three good efforts in a row and she seems to be heading in the right direction. If she is at her best, the rest will have to settle for minor awards. (3) WISHY WASHY GIRL gets post relief, has tactical speed and Bartlett is back at the controls; threat. (1) ROYAL KNOCKOUT rallied strongly for the victory in her Philly finale; factor from the rail.
Race 6
(7) KEYSTONE WANDA did not race badly last out at Pocono taking fourth money. Now she is back at Yonkers where she has the best success at this level and Mr. Marohn, Jr knows this pacing miss; gets the call. Veteran mare (5) MACH IT A PAR leaves door number eight for a cozy slot; the main danger. (8) BETTORHAVEANOTHER is knocking at the door based on her last five trips to the post; respect despite the move to the 8-hole.
Race 7
(5) FREAKONOMICS took the pocket route on her way to victory in her recent outing. Now she moves up the ladder but she seems to be in winning form so two straight is not out of the question. (3) SELL A BIT N just got up for win honors last time out; has the speed to repeat. (4) MORE THAN MANY has scored her last two in a row and she does fit with this group; do not overlook.
Race 8
(6) RURAL ART came close to getting the job done last out at this level. Can top these with a well-judged run. (3) P H SUPERCAM gets post relief and he does have good early zip; merits respect. (1) TWOMACSONESHADOW moves down in class and he draws the fence; solid contender.
Race 9
Trotting gelding (2) LILYS SWAN POND gets the luck of the draw and has the tactical speed to rate and score over these trotters. Ohio invader (1) CANTCUTTHATCHIP has wheeled off two straight victories. Now he moves to Yonkers and retains the pole position; threat. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER tough break at the quarter pole last time around but he clearly can rebound from that last effort with Bartlett at the helm.
Race 10
(7) MADE OF JEWELS AS moves back to a winning level for this five-year old mare. If she overcomes door number seven, she can greet the camera operator for pictures. (1) TERROR AT NIGHT was sent down the road in her last try for all the glory; threat again. (2) ITTY BITTY should do much better from the 2-hole and Bartlett stays in the bike; watch out.
