Yonkers: Carryover, guaranteed pool in Tuesday's Pick 5
Favorites went zero-for-five during Monday night's (August 16) Pick 5 sequence at Yonkers Raceway, leading to no winning tickets being held. As a result, there will be a $5,773.20 carryover and a $15,000 guaranteed pool in the wager on Tuesday night's (August 17) program.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Program. The Pick 5, which begins in race five, has a takeout rate of 20 percent.
One of the upsets came in the featured $45,000 Open Handicap Pace, as veteran None Bettor A (Matt Kakaley) went to the lead from post two and posted fractions of 26 4/5, 55 2/5, and 1:23. 4-5 favorite Dragon Said (Joe Bongiorno) tipped out from the pocket going to three-quarters and challenged None Bettor A through the final panel, but None Bettor A was unwavering and wouldn't let the chalk go past, winning by three parts of a length in 1:50 3/5.
None Bettor A, an 8-year-old Bettor's Delight gelding, is trained by Andrew Harris for owners Joe P Racing LLC. and Oldford Racing LLC. This was his 32nd career victory, and he has now earned $613,707. Sent off at 19-1, he paid $40.40 to win and was atop an $111.00 exacta and an $826.00 trifecta.
Tuesday night's 12-race card at Yonkers Raceway begins at 7:15 p.m.
