MEET STATS: 127 - 460 / $746.30 (-$173.70) BEST BETS: 24 - 45 / $87.90 (-$2.10) SPOT PLAYS: 4 - 45 / $24.70 (-$65.30) BEST BET - WARRIOR ONE (2nd) SPOT PLAY - EYES DON'T LIE (4th) Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace (3) WAVES OF FIRE A races in what I think is the softest spot he's been in since being claimed by trainer Gil Garcia-Herrera on 5-21, and I'll give him a chance. (5) GINGER TREE PETE got the job done last Wednesday, rallying after sitting back off a hot pace. He's been good in both tries since joining Izzy Estrada's stable. (1) RISKY MILLION hasn't won in 20 starts this year, but he did have two excuses on 7-6, as he ended up first-over and had broken equipment. Might be able to get a smoother trip from the pole. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - NW11825L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot (1) WARRIOR ONE has a solid history here at Yonkers and returns tonight after trotting home in 26 3/5 against tough foes at the Meadowlands on 7-3. (6) KINDA LUCKY LINDY showed a little more pep in his step on June 30, finishing third at this level. He races out of a high-percentage barn and was in the Open locally as recently as late April. (4) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL broke stride last Wednesday as the favorite, costing him any chance. That's two straight defeats as the chalk, so I can only use underneath. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (4) QUITE A DELIGHT drops down a notch from the optional $15,000 claimers. She won at this level on both May 20 and 6-16. (2) WESTERN SHOWGIRL tossed in a real clunker last time she raced at Yonkers on the 10th of June but came back with two sharp performances at the Meadowlands. Probably the one to beat. (6) COVEREDNDIAMONDS has hit the board in four straight races and has been claimed three straight times. Seems like one you probably want to include. Race 4 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace (1) EYES DON'T LIE couldn't get involved from post eight in her last pair at Harrah's Philadelphia and Yonkers, but she gets to start from the pole position here, returns to a weekly racing rotation, and did pace a final quarter in 27 3/5 a week ago. (5) SOCIETY JILL scored two back over NW2 foes at Pocono and trainer Tom Fanning had a victory at the track last Wednesday. (3) NEVER NOT DANCING makes her second start after a layoff tonight and advanced from eighth to third in a NW1 race at Harrah's Philadelphia on 6-25. Race 5 - NW6001L5/12500CLM Trot (6) CRAZYCAT squeezed into this class by a single dollar and finally got out of the eight-hole after having it three straight times. (1) SHARED INTEREST A makes his Yonkers debut tonight. He should be a fit based on that win over optional $12,000 claimers at Harrah's Philadelphia on 5-28, and he has plenty of half-mile track experience at Harrington. (7) DESWANSLITTLELORIE moves over to this spot from the NW6's. Notice that she was fourth as the favorite against NW9000L5's at Pocono on 6-14, so this figures to be a race she can compete in. Race 6 - F&M NW5025L5/12500CLM Pace (7) SOUND IDEA was on real form spree until she hit the NW8 level, and then it hasn't gone as well for her. I think getting to move into this NW5000L5 race should get her back on track, especially if she returns to the aggressive approach. (2) SHOTGUN PERSUASION is one of a few trainer Jim King Jr. has in on the program. I'll include as she gets post relief off her last race at Harrington, and I respect the connections. (6) IDEAL CLASSIC exits the NW7500L5's, and trainer Mark Ford has sent out some live horses as of late. Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace (1) DELITFULCATHERIN N makes her U.S. debut in this race. That was obviously quite a good qualifier at Pocono last Wednesday, and this isn't the deepest NW4 contest. (2) IDEAL IN MIRACLES defeated NW2 foes at Yonkers on June 16 and gets to move inside on the gate after having the seven-hole at Harrah's Philadelphia on July 2. (5) TEMPURA HANOVER has finished third and fourth in her last couple of chances against NW4 rivals and hails from the always dangerous Scott Di Domenico barn. Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot (5) DRAZZMATAZZ will get the nod from me in this wide-open race as he gets some further class relief and will hopefully be able to show some more early speed than he has lately. (4) LIFETIME ROYALTY took advantage of a drop a week ago to get a victory, and he's not out of his element here as he was a rallying second as the favorite at this level on 6-30. (1) IN MY DREAMS seems way overdue for a better performance since he has just one on the board finish since his last win on the 28th of April. That triumph did come in this class.     Race 9 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace (5) MILADY DENVER A came in fourth against male rivals in the Open at Monticello in her last start and grabbed a check against NW10000L5's when last on Yonkers on July 1. (6) PAMMY JO took a first-over shot at heavily-favored Tango Dancer N last Wednesday but faded after getting rebuffed. I think that was a sign of positive intent and will use. (3) PAIGE'S GIRL has hit the ticket in three straight races between here and Pocono and receives some post relief tonight. Race 10 - F&M NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Draw Inside Pace (7) BEYOND WORDS N looked like she might be a star when she came over from New Zealand, but it hasn't worked out quite that way as of yet. I do like this spot for her, though, even from the outside. (6) NATASHA was handled conservatively again last week and had to settle for rallying for third. This is her third start after the long layoff, so maybe this is the one where they change up tactics. (4) HIGH MINDED impressed me with a gaining second-place finish to the sharp Man Dontforget Me a week ago, and I will include. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 11 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot (4) THISISSHE is in the midst of a great campaign, and I will look for her to rebound off that poor result last time out at Pocono, as I think that field was extremely tough for an optional $25,000 claimer. (3) LADY EAGLE battled gamely from first-up last Wednesday to finish third and starts from another inside post. (1) SEVEN KNIGHTS took one chance against NW15000L5's and now returns to the NW10000L5 class. He also moves in on the gate. Race 12 - NW5000L5 Pace (4) HITMAN HILL probably needed that race on 7-6 given the gaps in his schedule, and the Bongiornos usually get back-class horses like him figured out eventually. I'll bank on it happening here. (1) SO MANY ROADS gets to drop out of NW8 company and also has significant post relief. A definite threat. (2) MACINTOSH N came in second to Flaming Flutter N when he dropped down to this level on July 6 and starts from another inside draw.
