Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 61 - 240 / $484.00 (+$4.00)
BEST BETS: 7 - 24 / $23.40 (-$24.60)
SPOT PLAYS: 4 - 24 / $42.90 (-$5.10)
BEST BET -
INFINITY STONE (2nd)
SPOT PLAY - TACHYON (3rd)

Race 1 - 3-5YO 50000CLM Pace

(3) CAVIART SARGENT finished a good second two back and then closed well to get a fourth last Wednesday. He's been offering good value lately, and hopefully that continues as he shifts to an inside post. (2) STELLAR YANKEE held sway gamely on the front-end a week ago to collect his second straight victory and landed the two-hole behind the gate again here. (5) BELL'S DAVID ended up boxed in behind STELLAR YANKEE last week and never found room to challenge him while ending up third. He gets reunited with driver Yannick Gingras on this occasion.

Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot

(2) INFINITY STONE makes his second start with trotting hobbles on tonight and exits the John Brennan Trotting Series. Trainer Ricky Bucci has been cleaning up with class droppers all meet, and I will look for the same thing to happen here. (7) EMOTIONS RICHES has another outside post but slides down to the bottom level from the NW7500L5's and did have some trot on the end of his mile a week ago. (5) GREG turned in an improved effort when he faced NW5000L5's last Wednesday, finishing second to the well-meant Mostinterestingman.

Race 3 - John Brennan Series Trot

(2) TACHYON saw his breaking issues resurface last week, so the trotting hobbles go on tonight. Hopefully that helps him maintain his gait, as he's obviously got the speed to win, as he showed in the first leg of this series. (4) ARMSTEAD COLE converted a pocket trip into a facile victory in the series last Wednesday and is definitely capable of prevailing again tonight. (5) WHAT SHOUDL I GOO was second to ARMSTEAD COLE in their common event a week ago and has to face that rival again tonight.

Race 4 - John Brennan Series Trot

(1) HOOLIE N HECTOR is the only horse in this event that's won both of his prelims so far, and tonight he gets an inside post for the first time since back in late January at the Meadowlands. (2) OUTSIDE THE FIRE saw his win streak end a week ago, but I still think it was a good effort, and he's definitely capable of a quick turnaround. (3) CANTSTOP YANKEE gutted out a first-over win in a division of the Brennan Series last Wednesday and is four-for-five overall in 2023.

Race 5 - 50000CLM Trot

(4) ALL CHAMPY took some shots at higher levels in recent weeks but was unable to find the winner's circle. Tonight, he slides back down to face $50,000 claimers, and this is the class he's done all his damage at in 2023. (1) MISSION VOYAGE cut the fractions and held on to win a $50,000 claiming trot a week ago and should be on or near the front again from the pole position. (5) LADY JETER has a win and a third in her last two outings and just missed the board in finishing fourth the last time she gave $50,000 claming company a try back in mid-March.

Race 6 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Trot

(1) IM THE MUSCLE drew the pole tonight and gets to exit the NW15000L5 class. He was very sharp in two wins back in February and perhaps can fire like that here. (2) HUNTING AS was second against NW15000L5's when last seen at Yonkers on March 30 and scored his last win in this class back on February 8. (6) LOOK IN MY EYES continues to work his way down the ladder tonight. He was very good when handled more aggressively a couple months back, and maybe he's ready for that kind of trip here after a series of off-the-pace outings.

Race 7 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Trot

(7) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN dominated NW5000L5 company last week for an easy tally and should be capable of handling the class hike tonight, especially given the rest of this group's struggles to find the winner's circle. (3) UP HELLY AA remains in search of his first victory of 2023 but has gotten sharp lately, including a second against NW7500L5's two back. He also gets reunited with Jason Bartlett. (4) VELVET STYLE has three straight on-the-board finishes between here and Pocono and gets a chance to team up with Gingras on this occasion.

Race 8 - John Brennan Series Trot

(2) PAPPARDELLE turned in probably the most impressive performance of this event last week, rolling to an easy victory over the streaking Outside The Fire. He gets post relief off that mile and should be tough to beat. (3) SHARE THE WEALTH has come up a neck and a head short of winning the last two weeks and faces the stout PAPPARDELLE here. I will include underneath. (1) SPICY NUGGET was a first round winner in this series and then had little chance from an outside post a week ago. He drew the pole here and gets reunited with co-owner Gingras.

Race 9 - John Brennan Series Trot

(6) SWAN FLYER has had to settle for thirds in both legs of this series so far, but perhaps that'll inflate his value tonight, and he did have a three-race win streak at Yonkers before this event started. He's probably going to need to win to have a chance to make the final, too. (2) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS backed up his closing second two weeks ago with a victory last Wednesday and shifts to an inside post tonight. (3) TORRONE is zero-for-eight in the win column in 2023 but has been racing well, missing the board just once.

Race 10 - F&M NW7/79541LT Pace

(4) HUNTRESS cruised to a win in this class on 4-5 and has been defeated just once since coming east from Iowa last fall. (5) SOMESWEETSOMEWHERE was third in the race won by HUNTRESS two weeks ago and faces that rival again tonight. She's hit the board in her last four tries, including two victories. (1) KELE KELE had a good enough year in 2022 to make the New York Sire Stakes final and closed well to finish fourth in a NW7500L5 tilt at the Meadowlands last Friday (April 14).

Race 11 - F&M NW4/50000LT / F&M NW2/25000LT Drawn Inside Pace

(6) HALLELUJAH HANOVER didn't win as a 2-year-old but did make the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final and qualified well at Pocono against mostly male competition on 4-12. She also lures Mark MacDonald in for just the one drive. (1) HIGH FASHION STAR was a good second to a well-meant favorite in her first start of 2023 last Wednesday and is probably the one to beat from the pole position. (5) CHEESEY LADY posted a runner-up finish in her initial try out of the Scott Di Domenico barn on 4-5, and the rival that defeated her that night came back to win again over HIGH FASHION STAR a week ago.
