MEET STATS: 18 - 60 / $102.20 (-$17.80) BEST BETS: 4 - 6 / $17.90 (+$5.90) SPOT PLAYS: 1 - 6 / $4.30 (-$7.70) BEST BET - DEMETER N (8th) SPOT PLAY - LUCKY ARNOLD (4th) Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace I used (4) BEAUTY BAYAMA last week as she shipped down from Canada. Driver Jordan Stratton said on Twitter that she had some steering issues, so I'll expect some equipment adjustments will be coming and give her another chance. (2) CHELSKI raced pretty well at Freehold as she came into Tom Shay's barn. I think this is a reasonable spot for her tonight, especially since she adds Todd McCarthy in the bike. (1) RUBY ON RAILS got plenty of wagering attention against NW2's at the Meadowlands on 1-8 but came up empty. We've all seen trainer Scott Blackler win in spots like this with horses that he's gotten from Canada, so I'll include. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot (3) SHORETHING FASHION drops a notch tonight after holding on to finish second after ending up in a duel on the front-end last Wednesday. I'll hope for a Stratton sweep of the early double. (4) LUCKY JUNE BUG has been competitive in this class when he's stayed flat, finishing third a week ago and back on 1-12. (1) WINNERESS went off as the favorite in a NW5000L5 event last week but wound up fourth when he had to do the first-over work. Maybe Dan Dube can work out a better journey for him this time from the pole. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - F&M NW2/29500LT Pace (1) P L NELLY finished with interest last Wednesday after getting trapped in the pocket and shuffled in the third quarter. I'll hope driver Jim Marohn Jr. takes no prisoners from the rail this time. (2) LAURIE LEE owns seven career wins but fits NW2's since all of them came in non-wagering races. She beat NW1's at Pompano Park in early January in handy fashion. (6) SUNSHINE HALL pulled the upset a week ago as she rallied from far back. She receives another chance in the same class tonight, and I'll put underneath. Race 4 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot (3) LUCKY ARNOLD kept Joe Bongiorno over the post one starter in here that he just missed winning with last Wednesday. I think that was a key vote of confidence, and I'll give him a chance. (6) SIR JOHN F had a terrible trip last week as he got parked out. He moves down in class and in on the gate one notch, and I could see him taking advantage. (4) LIFE WELL LIVED is a heavy favorite on the morning line as he ships in from the Meadowlands and was Jason Bartlett's choice. I'll include, but I never have any success guessing on this horse or this barn, so if he beats me, so be it. Race 5 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (3) BEST AMERICAN CHIC forged her way into the lead from first-over when last seen a couple weeks ago but couldn't hold off Free Exchange. She probably merits another shot off that effort, and I'll give it to her. (5) SHECOULDBEGOOD N has only managed a couple of fourths since dropping down to this level, but trainer Rob Harmon's horses seem to be pretty good right now, and I think there's some room for improvement. (1) GRANT ME THIS was just one-for-30 in the win column in 2020 but did finish underneath a bunch of times. I'll try and beat her for the top spot, but I think you definitely want to have her on your tickets. Race 6 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot (2) ARABELLA'S CADET had absolutely nothing to offer from first-up at the Meadowlands on 1-22, but she was in the Open Handicap when last at Yonkers on October 2 and her efforts two and three back were both very good. I'll expect her to bounce back at low odds. (2) CLARION HALL picked up a couple of second-place finishes when in this class in December, and he's another one looking to rebound after making a break in his last appearance. (5) LIFETIME ROYALTY makes his 5-year-old debut here. He hails from one of the hottest barns going right now in Paul Stafford's, and I liked his qualifier at the Meadowlands where he held off the classy Kenziesky Hanover. Race 7 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot (4) CASINO CUTIE IT gained a couple of spots in the last quarter in a race dominated by Windsong Pioneer last Wednesday. I think this is a little softer group tonight, and I think she has a chance to build on that effort. (3) GETTIN MESSI slides down a level after finishing fifth against NW10000L5's. He burned some money in this class back in December, and I will attempt to beat him here. (1) CON AIR HALL had some luck at the draw this time after having posts six and seven in his last two. The last time he was slotted inside against NW7500L5's, he was third. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 8 - F&M NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Pace (6) DEMETER N is red-hot right now, having won three straight, and she even gets out of the eight-hole tonight to help her chances further. (2) MAN DONTFORGET ME has run into a couple of well-meant winners since coming down from Canada, including Demeter N back on 1-20. She has been racing well, and hopefully that trend continues. (7) BETALADY made an uncharacteristic break a week ago when favored. She's stuck outside again, but hopefully she minds her manners since I don't think it's out of the question for her to race well in this spot. Race 9 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot (2) CYCLONE MAXIMUS worked his way too high in class after the win on 12-8. He gets some relief tonight, and though maybe he needs one more drop, I'll use as he has a good post and will likely continue to offer value. (3) WINDSONG PIONEER moves up from the NW7500L5 level after a romping win last Wednesday. I don't think you'll want to leave out this Stafford trainee. (3) THE LAST CHAPTER may have needed that start a week ago since he had just one qualifier since November 17. He gets reunited with Bartlett on this occasion, too. Race 10 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace (1) TURNTHEFROWNAROUND owns plenty of Yonkers experience and trainer Ron Burke has won a pile of races here already in 2021. (2) SPECIAL ACHEIEVER rallied from seventh to second in the final quarter back on 1-20 and moves back inside tonight. (7) SOMEBEACHSOMEFRA has a couple of recent wins over NW4's but might be slated for an off-the-pace trip after being sent three straight times. Dube gets the call with George Brennan committed to my top pick.
