MEET STATS: 13 - 62 / $69.40 (-$54.60) BEST BETS: 2 - 6 / $9.20 (-$2.80) SPOT PLAYS: 0 - 6 / $0.00 (-$12.00) BEST BET - HAND DOVER DAN (10th) SPOT PLAY - MAGRITTE (6th) Race 1 - F&M NW2/29238LT Pace (2) MISS MAJESTY dominated over at the Meadowlands in her 2024 debut on 2-2 and hails from a barn that's very hot right now. (4) LINEMUP KNOCKMBACK has hit the board in both of her efforts this year. She gets to move in a couple notches on the gate this week and picks up Yannick Gingras. (1) YOUCANCALLME DAISY ended her 2-year-old campaign with a win at Freehold in late August and returned with a qualifier down there on February 2 where she gained spots and ground in the final quarter. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - Winners of 10 but not more than 14 PM Races or 150000LT Trot (5) TEXSONG SOPRANO owns a win and a second at this level since coming east from Northfield and is scheduled to be handled by co-owner Scott Zeron this time. (2) SWAN FLYER beat my top pick on 1-31 in an impressive performance and gets post relief off that mile. (1) HELPOFTHESEASON saw her run of victories at Yonkers end on 2-1 but did have broken equipment in that race. She switches from the F&M Open to this class. Race 3 - F&M Winners of 3 but not more than 5 PM Races or 60000LT Pace (5) DONTKARENIFIDO was a solid third last week in her first appearance since December 20. I'll bank on her being sharper here with that start under her belt and put her on top. (4) ULTIMATE SPEED just missed a fourth straight win a week ago, coming up a neck short to a determined victor. She has Gingras to call the shots again. (7) FAVORITE BEACH has hit the board in both of her appearances in this class so far in 2024 and is making her third start on Lasix. She has a new pilot with George Brennan taking over. Race 4 - Stake Your Claim 15000CLM Pace (3) ZIGGY SKY invades from Monticello with a win and a second in his last two tries and catches the right kind of group here to be competitive against. (6) OURRHYTHMNBLUES N went a long way on the lead before ending up second last Wednesday and has Jason Bartlett to drive again. (4) SWAGASAURUSREX woke up with an improved performance a week ago when he dropped to this $15,000 claiming level. Race 5 - Winners of 2 but not more than 5 PM Races or 60000LT Trot (5) SOME KINDA CRAZY made the New York Sire Stakes final and also performed well in the New Jersey Standardbred Development Fund series at Freehold last season. He is adding Lasix for his 4-year-old season, and that qualifier on 2-1 is good enough as he was in against two pacers and a couple of older trotters. (1) STONEBRIDGE BRAVO ships south from Woodbine Mohawk Park as a new member of the Burke Brigade and has some good results in a similar class up there. (3) A MAJORSMACKIN was third in his debut for trainer Nick Devita on January 31 and I've found horses often improve in their second try out of that stable. Race 6 - Stake Your Claim 15000CLM Pace (4) MAGRITTE comes over from the Meadowlands here off a seventh-place finish, but all his best recent performances are on the half-mile oval at Freehold. Hopefully that carries over here. (5) CAMPORA N just missed by a head in his division of this series last Wednesday and is on a weekly racing rotation for the first time in a bit. (6) NOB HILL FLASH led the way and wound up second a week ago. He was Jordan Stratton's choice of a pair in this tilt. Race 7 - Winners of 6 but not more than 9 PM Races or 125000LT Trot (2) ONION GUM trotted a good final quarter and was fourth in his 2024 debut last week. He's another horse who qualified for the NYSS final a year ago and has license to improve now that he's had a start. (1) BONTONI DEGATO S burned a bunch of money in his first three starts in the U.S. but is undefeated since then. He moves in from post eight to the pole position this time. (6) DIAMANTE TRIO IT had two wins to start her 5-year-old campaign and then was second to BONTONI DEGATO S last Wednesday. Trainer Travis Alexander is sending out plenty of live horses. Race 8 - Stake Your Claim 15000CLM Pace (2) NEVER SAY NEVER N makes his first start here since last September but was racing in much higher classes than this when he went on the bench, and hopefully he's ready off the one local qualifier on 2-1. (1) CAPTAIN T HANOVER has a win and a third in this class since coming over from the Meadowlands and has an inside post for the first time in 2024. (5) PRESTIGE SEELSTER didn't fire a week ago and moves down from the $20,000 to $15,000 claiming level. He had won four straight times prior to that dull effort. Race 9 - Stake Your Claim 15000CLM Pace (2) FULLBACK broke early on 1-24 but has closed with pace in two subsequent efforts since then, and hopefully he's ready for a more aggressive try from this inside post tonight. (6) SMOKIN BY N tallied in his division of the first leg of this series last week and was claimed by leading trainer Per Engblom out of that race. (1) MISTER SPOT was also victorious a week ago and has the pole to aid his chances this time. He added Lasix for this campaign and lures Matty Athearn in for the one drive. (1) MANCLANE gets away from the red-hot Bontoni Degato S this time after finishing second to that foe twice in January. He has major post relief here. Race 11 - NW10571L5/Winners in the Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace (2) BRAEVIEW BONDI A slides down a notch tonight after finishing third against NW15000L5 base class rivals last Tuesday. He also slides in a couple of notches on the starting gate. (3) TWIN B HEART THROB squeezed into this race by a dollar as he has $10,570 earned in his last five starts. He just missed by a nose on 2-5 and has Bartlett to steer again. (6) KARLOO BRADLEY N cut the mile and wound up third at this level two back for a high-percentage barn.
