MEET STATS: 12 - 40 / $76.70 (-$3.30) BEST BETS: 2 - 4 / $11.40 (+$3.40) SPOT PLAYS: 1 - 4 / $4.30 (-$3.70) BEST BET - LINDSEY'S PRIDE (9th) SPOT PLAY - BEAUTY BAYAMA (3rd) Race 1 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (4) DONGAL RUNDLSCRK N drops down off a third-place finish against NW7500L5's on 1-14, and should be on or near the lead. (1) BRONZE OVER N is the other logical choice in here as she gets the same class relief as my top selection. I can't fault anybody who goes with her on top. (3) AMATEUR HOUR hasn't raced since back on 12-18-20, but could be able to follow along on the cones from a good draw and hit the ticket with some value. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot (2) ABBIE'S CELTICLASS advanced from seventh to fourth in the final quarter last Wednesday and slides inside to post two here. I'll hope she continues to offer a square price and use. (1) TRAVEL WINNER took one shot against NW15000L5's and now retreats back to the level of his win on 12-15. He also moves in from post five to the pole position. (7) STONE IN LOVE finished with interest against NW15000L5's on January 15, closing from eighth to fifth. Her bad luck at the draw continues as she's stuck outside again. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - F&M NW2/28100LT Pace (3) BEAUTY BAYAMA ships down from Woodbine Mohawk Park after finishing second or third in her last three tries in their NW2 class, and it seems like invaders from that circuit usually fare well in these types of spots. (1) ACEFORTYFOUR RIVER made an uncharacteristic break before the start a week ago, but picked up a win and two seconds prior to that, so I'll include. (5) P L NELLY turned in another quality effort last Thursday, coming in second behind the well-meant Pray The Rosary and was victorious at this level on 12-22. Race 4 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot (2) WINNERESS had little chance last Thursday when he had the eight-hole on the class drop, but he gets another chance against the bottom level tonight from a much-improved post. He also kept Dan Dube over another one from a barn he regularly drives for. (1) TOTAL DIVA gets her first chance to face NW5000L5's since her victory at the level on 11-9 and drew the pole again. (5) LUCKY JUNE BIG made a miscue when stuck out in post eight on 1-19, but his start before that was pretty good as he came in third at this level. I'll hope he can take advantage of the improved starting spot and put underneath. Race 5 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot (6) FOMOR hit the board in his last two attempts against NW7500L5's and makes his first start against the bottom level tonight. I'll look for him to take advantage. (1) BATTLE MAGE wasn't George Brennan's choice, but I prefer him as he starts from post one with some class relief to go with it. Matt Kakaley picked up the drive, and he won with him over at Pocono on 11-10. (4) HAMMER CREEK had every chance to win a week ago as Brent Holland rated him kindly on the lead, but he had to settle for second. It was a good performance, and I will include again. Race 6 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot (1) SHORETHING FASHION was in against NW10000L5 when last seen at Yonkers in December and had no chance against a pretty tough group from an outside post at the Meadowlands in his 2021 debut. He was Jordan Stratton's pick of two in this wide-open race, and I'll go with him, too. (3) BLUE AND BOLD steps up a level after beating optional $12,500 claimers on 1-19. He downed NW7500L5's back on the 10th of November, so the class hike probably won't be a big factor, and his trainer is off to a hot start this meet. (6) MY LINDY WINNER got bet down to favoritism a week ago and couldn't deliver, finishing fifth. He went a big mile to take a second-place finish against NW10000L5's on December 22, and he could improve tonight since he'd been off almost a month prior to that last mile. Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace (3) GABBY TABBY took the lead from first-over in her last try against NW2's at the Meadowlands but drifted out in the lane and was passed. I don't think this is the strongest group of NW4's at Yonkers, so I'll give her a chance. I'll expect trainer Erv Miller, who is off to a fast start in 2021, has done some tinkering to help her, too. (6) PRAY THE ROSARY topped NW4's on 12-15 and then took advantage of an expanded lifetime earnings cap to score in a NW2 event a week ago. She's definitely usable. (4) PAIGE'S GIRL flattened out after making a three-wide move to the lead from second-over on the final bend last Wednesday. She should offer a better price if you give her another shot. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot (2) SVF CASH DEPOSIT showed the ability to defeat NW10000L5 company at Harrah's Philadelphia in late November and ships in from The Meadows into a high-percentage barn for his Yonkers debut. (5) WINDSONG PIONEER moves over from the tough NW7 class to this more reasonable spot. The way trainer Paul Stafford is going right now, you probably want to include any of his starters. (3) CASINO CUTIE IT scored one of her two victories in 2020 at Yonkers against NW10000L5's, so she is probably spotted well as she returns from New Jersey. Race 9 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot (4) LINDSEY'S PRIDE gives trainer Erv Miller another chance on the card here and looks like he should be very tough as he moves down off a second-place finish against NW15000L5's on January 15. He also gets reunited with Jordan Stratton. (2) DIRTY SECRET is now two-for-two in 2021 after a first-over win against NW7500L5's last Wednesday. She hails from the Ken Koch stable, another high-percentage outfit during the meet thus far. (3) MAGICAL JOURNEY dead-heated for a win with Dirty Secret in a NW5000L5 tilt on 1-12 and then was a good second a week ago. Race 10 - F&M NW7/82000LT Pace (1) ANNE BONNEY N came up a neck short of catching Demeter N in a NW8 race on 1-13 and was flattered when that rival came back to score a dominant win last week. (5) MAN DONTFORGET ME had an encouraging Yonkers debut a week ago, finishing third to Demeter N despite not having the smoothest of trips. She could improve off that start. (8) BETALADY held sway to win over NW10000L5's on 1-14. She would have looked much more intriguing as a win threat had she not drawn post eight, but if you think she can overcome it, she should have some value she otherwise wouldn't have.
