MEET STATS: 234 - 910 / $1,543.20 (-$276.80) BEST BETS: 38 - 88 / $170.20 (-$5.80) SPOT PLAYS: 16 - 89 / $203.70 (+$25.70) BEST BET - MARINER SEELSTER (4th) SPOT PLAY - CASSIUS HANOVER (7th) Race 1 - NW7500L5/Winners in the Last Start of Base Class NW5000L5 Pace (4) THE REAL ONE drops and moves inside on the gate this week and shows a couple of on-the-board finishes against NW20000L5 base class foes recently. (2) KING JAMES EXPRESS rallied to finish fourth in a NW7500L5 tilt last Wednesday and gets post relief tonight off that performance. (1) SOUTHBEACH HANOVER took an unsuccessful shot against NW10000L5 company a week ago and now slides back down to the level where he romped to a win on 12-6. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - 15000CLM Pace (4) DON DOMINGO N returns to action tonight after a layoff and was facing significantly better horses when last seen. Unless the issues he has that sent him to the sidelines are too much to overcome, I think he's the one to beat. (5) TEAM MAC didn't threaten last time out at the Meadowlands but was racing well prior to that and catches a pretty wide-open group in this race. (1) HEEZ OURPERSEUS N has a fifth and a fourth since coming to Yonkers from Plainridge. I would say this is the softest group he's faced locally, and I'll include. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - NW2/25000LT / NW1/12500LT Drawn Inside Trot (3) LOVELY HEART came in third most recently down at Harrah's Philadelphia and shows a victory at Harrah's Philadelphia in early November. She makes her second start on Lasix tonight. (4) NAANDA AS beat NW1 foes at Harrah's Philadelphia on 11-30 and moves inside on the gate a couple of slots here after a fifth-place result at Yonkers a week ago. (5) CANDY BOMBER has struggled to win through his career but does often work his way into the mix underneath, and that's where I'll put him. Race 4 - 15000CLM Pace (2) MARINER SEELSTER landed post two tonight after having the seven-hole in his two tries prior to that. That shift inside on the gate should make all the difference, and I will give him top billing. (3) ALWAY'S CLOSE has been victorious in two straight tries and is definitely usable again here. (7) SOUTHWIND ONYX starts from the outside but drops out of the $20,000 claimers and tallied in this class on 11-1 and 10-18. Race 5 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace (6) SECRET GARDEN closed with a ton of pace in her last start at the Meadowlands and had a second and then a win down at Harrah's Philadelphia prior to that. (1) PRINCESS ARONA recently added Lasix for Yonkers's leading trainer Per Engblom and drew the pole position here after having post six a week ago. (5) JAVA struggled on the first turn last Wednesday but did gain ground in the final quarter with a solid final quarter. She was fine in prior efforts, so hopefully that issue was a one-time thing. Race 6 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace (3) TWIN DELIGHT finds a much more reasonable spot here than the NW20000L5 or NW30000L5 classes she was in at Yonkers since coming down from Canada. (7) FAVORITE BEACH has a pair of runner-up finishes in two tries for trainer Nick Devita and doesn't have to race against Twin B Allure, who defeated her both times, tonight. (6) TWIN B ECHO wound up with a poor result at the Meadowlands on December 1 but has been performing well other than that lately and kicked home well from far back last week. Race 7 - NW4/50381LT Trot (2) CASSIUS HANOVER trotted home strongly in both of his efforts against NW4 company since joining trainer Pat Lachance's barn, and he has a good draw tonight after being saddled with posts eight and seven in those two races. (3) BONANZA saw his winning streak end when he broke at Yonkers on 10-4, but he bounced back right away for Engblom and returns to the half-mile oval tonight with three straight triumphs. (4) MANCLANE owns two straight tallies of his own and is a first-timer for the Burke Brigade here. Race 8 - F&M NW2/25000LT / F&M NW1/12500LT Drawn Inside Pace (2) SILKEN SMILE is a 2-year-old facing older foes here, but she absolutely clobbered NW1 rivals at Freehold in her pari-mutuel debut last time out and doesn't meet anybody overly imposing in this event. (8) FINAL STING continues to have bad luck at the draw but finished a solid second to a heavy favorite from the seven-hole last Wednesday. (4) BOSTON JIVE invades from Saratoga having hit the board in three straight outings, including a win most recently. She hit the board a couple of times at Yonkers back in August. Race 9 - NW4/50000LT Trot (8) CHEZACTIC didn't make much of an impact most recently at the Meadowlands, but his form against NW3's at Harrah's Philadelphia and NW4's at Pocono was fine, and I'm going to hope for aggressive tactics from the outside against a beatable bunch. (1) NEWTOWNS BLACKGOLD hikes up from the NW2 level but does so with a series of good performances, including a victory most recently. He also landed the pole position to aid his cause. (6) IRISH COFFEE picked up a couple of spots in the final quarter against NW4 foes a week ago and is a second-time starter for Jenn Bongiorno. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10 - NW8131L5/Winners in the Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace (4) HEAVEN ON HIGH N endured a parked-out journey last week against NW10000L5 and hung around to come in fourth. He drops again tonight and any smoother trip should result in a win. (7) IM A POWERPLAY A has won two straight since returning off the shelf but does move outside on the gate here. (8) CADILLAC BAYAMA starts from the outside but continues to work his way down the class ladder and makes his second start on Lasix. Race 11 - 20000CLM Pace (2) SWAGASAURUS REX posted a solid final quarter a week ago and gained spots and ground in the final quarter. That was an improved effort, and he usually offers pretty good value. Throw in that he's getting post relief in a wide-open race, and I'll give him a shot. (4) SMOKIN BY N has won two straight outings, including by open lengths in this class on December 6. (3) ROCKATHON double-drops out of the $30,000 claimers and posted a runner-up result against $25,000 claiming company on 11-16.
