(1) SEISMIC STEP comes in off a victory in this class last Wednesday and starts from an inside post again. (2) BLESS ME FATHER gained some in the stretch in the same race that SEISMIC STEP comes out of and slides in on the gate from the six-hole to post two. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - 3-6YO 20000CLM Pace (4) LOU'S BEACH never threatened last week but was sharp prior to that and is back with Dennis Laterza off a re-claim. Laterza won with the horse two back on 11-20. (1) FOXHUNT went right down the road from post one a week ago and obviously the same thing could happen here as he has the pole again for new connections off a claim. (5) CELLMATE is now riding a three-race win streak after he tallied again last Wednesday and gets to partner with leading driver Jason Bartlett again. Race 3 - Winners of 5 but not more than 7 PM Races or 90000LT Trot (1) DIPLOMACY steps up a notch on the ladder tonight but won handily last Wednesday in his debut for leading trainer Per Engblom and with hobbles on. I'll give him the nod here from post one. (5) COUSIN HALIFAX had some late trot in a third-place effort at this level a week ago and will look to build on that in this contest. (6) INCANTATION never threatened last week but had three straight on-the-board results in this class from 10-29 to 11-12 and can maybe add some value underneath. Race 4 - 3-6YO 20000CLM Pace (6) SHAKE IT finished a closing second for a red-hot stable last week in this class and makes his second start back after a layoff tonight. (1) SURFSIDE BEACH moves in from the eight-hole to the pole position and has trip and post excuses in his last two appearances. (5) TWO FACED drops in his second outing off the shelf for the leading duo of Bartlett and Engblom and I wouldn't be surprised if he puts in a better performance. Race 5 - 25000CLM Pace (3) HEAVE AWAY rallied to win last Wednesday in this class for the same connections as my top pick in Race 4, and I'll give him top billing in this contest off the effort. (6) MAXIMUS RED A won against $25,000 claimers two back and closed well in a fourth-place effort a week ago. (4) SCRIBBLERS gets some post relief tonight after he had the seven-hole last week and shows three recent on-the-board results. Race 6 - Winners of 5 but not more than 7 PM Races or 90000LT Trot (8) KEWPIE DOLL will have to overcome the eight-hole but has looked the part in both tries since the trotting hobbles went on and maybe we can squeeze out a bit of value given the bad post. (1) DURANTE HANOVER cut the fractions and wound up second at this level last Wednesday. He moves inside to the pole tonight and gets a driver switch to Yannick Gingras. (4) SENSI AMNESIA couldn't hold off my top selection a week ago but turned in another solid performance and hasn't been outside the exacta in her last four appearances. Race 7 - 25000CLM Pace (2) SMOOTH LOU gets a post relief/class drop combo here and won impressively over NW7500L5 company the last time he drew inside on 11-10. (3) ALTA CLASSIC A took one chance against $30,000 claimers and now slides back down to the level where he had a second on November 5 and a win on November 13. He also moves in from the seven-hole to post three. (5) ULYSSES just missed at this level last Wednesday and gets to partner with Bartlett again tonight. Race 8 - 20000CLM Pace (5) DEETZY enters off a sick scratch but was an even fourth against tougher $25,000 claimers prior to that and drops tonight. (4) THE BIZZNESS N held sway on the front-end to tally in this class last Wednesday for trainer Ron Burke and gets to team up with Gingras this time. (3) LYONS BENJAMIN couldn't get around THE BIZZNESS N a week ago but has been sharp outside of the 11-12 race where he was pulled up and gets reunited with Bartlett. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9 - Winners of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT Trot (4) TOP GUN HANOVER put it all together in his third outing for Engblom last week. He remains at the same level here and doesn't meet up with anybody overly imposing. (1) MARIN COUNTY doesn't have a great win record but is often capable of hitting the board when he draws inside like he has tonight. (5) BIZZY BRENDA has finished second in three of the last four times she's raced in this class and I'll toss her in the mix underneath. Race 10 - F&M Winners of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT / NW2 PM Races or 30000LT Draw Inside Pace (8) TH RIZZO landed post eight here but that 27 and change final quarter last week may have been a hint that Engblom has her figured out, and she gets to partner with Bartlett for the first time. (6) DOC'S LOVE owns a victory at this level back on September 10 and she beat what are probably tougher NW10000L5 base class foes most recently. (3) PAPI'S OPINION was third to a well-meant foe last Wednesday and drew well again in this spot.
