Race 1 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(5) CASINO CUTIE IT drops to the bottom level tonight after finishing second against NW7500L5's a week ago and gets reunited with Jordan Stratton. (6) INFINITY STONE went a long way on the lead in a NW5000L5 race on 10-26 and was second to a heavy favorite in Globetrotting. Trainer Per Engblom has done a good job with this horse this year. (2) BROWNIE has hit the board the last two times he's raced at this level and moves in from post seven to the two-hole.
Race 2 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot
(1) VINNY DE VIE woke up with an improved performance last time out at Harrah's Philadelphia by finishing second and returns to Yonkers here. He was facing NW20000L5's locally in his last appearance, so this is a very soft spot compared to that. (3) ARABELLA'S CADET downed bottom level foes last Wednesday in handy fashion. She shows hitting the board in the corresponding class to this one at Harrah's Philadelphia back on October 6. (5) AFTER ALL PAUL came in second against NW7500L5's on 10-8 and drops after facing NW10000L5's in his last two efforts.
Race 3 - 3&4YO 40000CLM Pace
(2) MAKE MY DEO is a horse I've been chasing from outside posts, so now that he's drawn inside I can't hop off. He closed with a strong final quarter a week ago. (4) ROSE RUN X-CON pulled off a nice upset last Thursday and driver Austin Siegelman and trainer Nick Devita were a lethal combination in many other races last week. (3) HURRIKANE GEORGIE is in great form and has a barn change to Travis Alexander off the claim.
Race 4 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot
(2) EPOS OSTERVANG DK plummets from $75,000 claimers to an optional $20,000 claimer tonight. That's a little bit of a red flag, but I'll trust all is right with him since he just raced last week and put him on top. He also gets significant post relief, moving in from the eight-hole to post two. (6) NEW HEAVEN slides down from the NW15000L5 level and trainer Eric Abbatiello is putting some live horses on the track right now. (8) THE LAST CHAPTER was in against NW20000L5's at Yonkers two back and raced well in finishing third at Pocono most recently. He switches pilots to Jason Bartlett.
Race 5 - 3&4YO 40000CLM Pace
(3) KOBRA KAI turned in his best effort since coming into trainer Travis Alexander's barn a week ago, and I will hope he can build on that here with a victory. (1) SHIP WRECK BEACH K is the ruler of this class right now. He did look a little vulnerable in the stretch a week ago but still dug in to take another win, and he drew the pole to help his chances tonight. (2) HP LIS SHADOW rallied from eighth at the quarter to fourth at the finish in the same race my top two choices come out of from last Wednesday. He slides in from the eight-hole to post two and gets reunited with Bartlett tonight.
Race 6 - 50000CLM Trot
(3) KANDY SWEET topped $75,000 claimers on October 26 and gets to drop to the $50,000 claiming level since trainer Scott Di Domenico has a different horse in that class tonight. (6) BROKNHEARTSVILLE found the $75,000 claimers too difficult but was second at this level two back and has Bartlett to drive. (1) J A T O was able to follow along and hit the board against $50,000 claimers two back when he drew inside, and he moves from post six to the pole here.
Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) BLUEBERRY SHAKE zipped home in 27 3/5 to finish third in her second local appearance against NW4's and will offer a better price than (1) AMERICAN HALO, who was second in the same event last Wednesday and is in super form. (2) CLEAR THE WAY downed NW4's two back and then had no shot from an outside draw a week ago. She moves back inside on the gate here.
Race 8 - 75000CLM Trot
(4) VALI HANOVER gained several spots in the final quarter in a NW15000L5 event on 10-28. I remember how impressive that victory over NW6's was here on October 12, so he has the ability for a big mile, and he gets a shot with Bartlett in the bike. (2) GEMOLOGIST is one of the red-hot horses for the earlier-mentioned Siegelman/Devita tandem. He's riding a three race win streak and each of them has been a superb performance. (1) HOMER HALL has finished first or second in his last six outings and has the inside post advantage tonight.
Race 9 - 50000CLM Trot
(4) MUFASA AS picked up a check against $75,000 claimers on 10-26 and now drops back down to the $50,000 claiming level where he posted back-to-back victories on October 5 and 19. (2) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE finished second to a well-meant foe in For A Dreamer last week. If she gets some pace to chase, it would help set up her closing kick. (7) BIG BAD SWAN moves back outside on the gate tonight but is in good form with three wins and two other on the board finishes on his page in this class.
