Yonkers: Analysis for Wednesday 11/10

Greg Reinhart|Nov 08, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 253 - 861 / $1,402.70 (-$319.30)
BEST BETS: 42 - 79 / $136.20 (-$21.80)
SPOT PLAYS: 9 - 79 / $62.30 (-$95.70)
BEST BET -
BLUEBIRD RECON (11th)
SPOT PLAY - MAGRITTE (7th)

Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace

(5) HELLRUNNER HANOVER was second to a well-meant winner on 10-27. That rival came back to finish second against NW4's last week, so I think that was a quality performance, and I'll give her a try. (2) YOUR MOMMA will probably be sharper tonight as she hadn't raced since October 9 coming into last week's fourth-place result. (3) BEACHBLANKETLINDY is 0-for-19 this year in the win column but has shown a propensity for finishing underneath. She gets reunited with Jordan Stratton here with considerable post relief, too.

Race 2 - 25000CLM Pace

(1) MY MIND IS MADEUP has raced much better against $25,000 claimers than $30,000 claimers, so I believe this is the right level for him, and he gets an inside post for the first time since October 1. (4) THISJETSABOOKIN comes off a win on October 27 and was claimed by Matias Ruiz from that race. (5) TIME OUT I'M TIRED was victorious the last time he faced $25,000 claiming company on the 6th of October.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 3 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace

(7) CORAL BELLA came up just a neck short of winning the last time she raced at this level on 10-6 and hopefully she performs similarly here. (4) CHECKERED PAST has hit the board in all of her recent appearances in this class. Jason Bartlett has the call back tonight with Scott Zeron not competing on the card. (1) J ROCKIN B slides down from the optional $20,000 claimers to the optional $15,000 claimers tonight and should be on or near the lead.

Race 4 - 25000CLM Pace

(1) HAPPY TRIO wound up with some good fortune at the draw tonight after three straight outside posts, and trainer Izzy Estrada sent out three winners at the Meadowlands on November 5. (2) KIMANI N has hit the board in four straight races and finished up his mile with a 27 4/5 final quarter against NW7500L5's on 11-2. (5) BEVANS CULLEN N makes his second start for the Ruiz barn off the claim tonight and did gain some ground in the last quarter a week ago.

Race 5 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace

(1) SEA OF LOVE BC is another horse that finally drew inside tonight. I think she's sneaky sharp given her gaining efforts from the seven-hole and post eight in her last two, and she merits a chance. (2) BITTY BITTY roared home from the pocket to end the win streak of Nuttinbuthebest a week ago, and if anything she might be sharper tonight since she's back on a regular weekly racing schedule. (4) MOSSDALE LOTTEE N went some nice miles against NW4's and NW6's back in May and June but then went to the sidelines. This is her first start back, and she does pick up Stratton's driving services.

Race 6 - NW10150L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Trot

(1) YANKS DUGOUT advanced from eighth to fourth in the last three-quarters of his mile on 10-29. He makes his second appearance out of the Ron Burke barn tonight and moves all the way from the eight-hole to the pole. (2) HUNTING AS has won two straight and hit the board in this class back on October 6, so he's definitely a contender. (7) CON AIR HALL finished third on October 29 against NW15000L5's. That was the same race my top pick comes out of, so that was a good effort, and I'll hope he can sneak onto the ticket from the outside tonight.

Race 7 - 25000CLM Pace

(7) MAGRITTE exits a strong closing effort for high-percentage connections, and meets up with a group that I believe he can threaten tonight, hopefully with continued value. (3) CINNAMACK has just a single victory this year, but he has been racing well in Pennsylvania, and it's hard to discount Burke trainees. (1) PLAY THE FIELD comes in two wins and a second in his last three against $20,000 claimers and offsets the class hike by starting from the pole. He's a firster for trainer Cory Stratton off the claim.

Race 8 - 50000CLM Trot

(3) HALO IT'S ME worked pretty hard to get the lead last time out and predictably tired. I imagine he'll be back to stalking tactics tonight and could offer a square price. (5) BLUE AND BOLD has two wins and a second in three chances in this class and is a newcomer to the Travis Alexander barn after getting claimed a week ago. (4) IN MY DREAMS owns a win, a second, and two thirds among his last five appearances and has significant post relief here.

Race 9 - 30000CLM Pace

(5) JOJO'S PLACE got claimed by the high-percentage Jared Bako barn on 10-27 and was Matt Kakaley's choice in this event. (8) REAL LUCKY N starts from the outside but finished third against $40,000 claimers in his last two efforts, and I don't think he's a write-off. (1) TIGERS WAY drops out of the $40,000 claimers and moves in from the eight-hole to post one.

Race 10 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot

(1) LADY JETER raced well at Yonkers earlier this year in the John Brennan Series and makes her comeback tonight in a winnable spot. It doesn't hurt that she gets Stratton to drive, either. (3) ZOOMING is still going at age 13. The millionaire comes off a solid effort in an amateur race at Pocono and might appreciate getting a catch driver tonight with Tyler Buter handling the assignment. (4) DC ANNA picked up a confidence-building win over NW5000L5's a week ago and is definitely usable.

Race 11 - 30000CLM Pace

(2) BLUEBIRD RECON slides down from the $40,000 claimers in his second start for Bako and was able to lure Kakaley off an Alexander trainee, which is very rare. (1) TOLLY-HO was claimed by the always-capable Nick Devita on 11-1 and starts from the pole. He had to do the first-over work last time out, and since he faded, I have to think they'll be looking to avoid that journey here. (7) MARINER SEELSTER is the Alexander starter that Kakaley picked off of. He does come off a win and picks up Joe Bongiorno, who seems to always have a knack for taking advantage of getting to drive for top stables.

Race 12 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot

This is the type of field where the connections often try to wire them with (3) SHOWMEYOURGUNS, and I'll bank on that scenario happening tonight. (4) MUSCLE STAR held on to finish third despite getting parked on 10-27 and gets Kakaley to drive tonight. (1) MAKING SPARKS takes a third crack at the bottom level here. He drew the pole again and has Stratton to drive.
