Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 9/27

MEET STATS: 343 - 980 / $1,714.20 (-$245.80)
BEST BETS: 54 - 92 / $206.80 (+$22.80)
Best Bet: MABALENE N (2nd)
Spot Play: BELTANE A (9th)
Race 1: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) PYRO returns to Yonkers after a reasonably successful run at Philly and Pocono and the Garcia-Herrera trainee is a perfect fit at this level. Dube has options leaving from this post, but I suspect he'll be sent to the front. (1) SETH HANOVER was going nowhere last week up in class and stuck in the eight hole, but now he moves all the way back inside where he's most dangerous. (5) WINDSUN RICKY gets a free ride at this level off last week's wire-to-wire upset win and he figures to be a nice price again.

Race 2: 3-5YO F&M NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(7) MABALENE N has completely dominated in his two U.S. starts and she didn't fool anyone at the windows as she paid $2.20 and $2.10 in those wins. Shane Tritton import looks like the real deal Holyfield. (5) CHERYLS SHADOW was unable to make the front in her last race but she did rally decently off cover. Stratton may be able to clear the top, then release the top one and complete the exacta. (4) LOVE THAT SMILE was second best for the Bongiorno barn upon arrival from Canada and the filly is clearly the other main contender in here.

Race 3: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(3) JOSSIE JAMES A overcame a final-turn shuffle last week and scooted up the rail to score; mare faces much of the same and will be favored to repeat. (1) LOOKATMYART faltered under late pressure coming out of the same race as the top one but to her credit she held for third. Noel Daley trainee draws well and looks like the main threat. (5) LADY DELA RENTA A suffered a tough beat when Jossie James nipped her late after being uncovered a long way. These three figure strongly to complete the triple again tonight.
Race 4: 2-4YO F&M NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(2) ADDISON SEELSTER has just been okay since arriving, though she was carried wide turning home last week which didn't help. Gillis trainee draws well again and I'll give her another chance. (3) AMERICAN BEACHBABE added Lasix for her last start at Pocono and raced better; she should fit in well here. (5) TRUE BLUE HANOVER was an upset winner last out at The Meadowlands and she rallied mildly in an Excelsior race here last month; she's missed a little time, however.
Race 5: 3-5YO F&M NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(3) HAMPTONS BABE was a good (but distant) second to the runaway winner last week and from a similar spot tonight she could be able to convert. (1) WAITFOREVER N never got close in her U.S. debut but the import moves all the way inside and looms a major player. (5) CLEAR THE WAY hasn't been a player since graduating from NW2 but Bartlett's back driving and this seems like a better spot than she saw in her last two.
Race 6: 3-5YO F&M NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(5) JACANA had some pace in traffic last start and note the barn chance here as she moves to the Burke Brigade. Maybe she can work out a good trip. (4) SOMESWEETSOMEWHERE breezed from the eight hole two back. (2) AMERICAN HALO went wire-to-wire in the Excelsior final up at Saratoga. Improving filly could have a say.
Race 7: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(5) BB LUCKY BOY hit town from Indiana for Dowse, was crushed to 1/9 and dug in nicely to score. He faces much of the same here looking to repeat. (1) DP REALORDEAL gave it a solid try but came up second best to the top one last week; looks like these two again. (2) HUNTSVILLE PLACE beat up a soft NW2 field last start; he faces much tougher now but should be close to the action and can land a piece.

Race 8: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(1) MILLWOOD BONNIE N successfully wired similar last out and has been a consistent presence most of the season at this level; from the rail she'll likely be favored to repeat. (3) LAURIE LEE gets much-needed post relief and promises to be more involved. (8) CAVIART CHERIE had been racing well prior to last week's injured scratch. The good news is she's right back in the box, the bad news is she's stuck in the eight hole.
Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) BELTANE A has had a solid season with over $128K banked and he's been good in all recent starts where he's had a legitimate chance. Not sure what sort of trip he's looking at but is worth a try if the price is decent. (2) FAMILY RECIPE was dull in his last couple but this is a much better spot tonight. (4) VELOCITY KOMODO drops a notch and goes back to Jordan Stratton, driving for his brother.
