Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(6) BUGGER BRUISER has been racing well and has been popular at the claim box. Trainer Cory Stratton gets a chance with him this week, and given the early foot the horse has shown, this post doesn't bother me too much. (2) MILITARY MASTER A drops out of the $15,000 claimers after finishing second on 9-3. His last win came in this claiming class on July 30. (1) BEGINNER'S LUCK held sway on the front-end last Tuesday to get the win and drew the pole again to aid his cause.

Race 2 - NW7650L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(5) KINNDER JACKSON drops in class again tonight and picks up Jordan Stratton in the bike. Hopefully he can work out a better trip for him than the first-over grind he wound up with on 9-13. (2) CAMPORA N squeezed into this race by a few dollars under the non-winners $7,650 last five cap. He was a pretty good fourth last Monday and makes his second start back after a layoff. (3) BIG SIR also exits the NW10000L5's and trainer Ricky Bucci has been sending out some live horses again lately.

Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(6) SAMSON BLUE CHIP absolutely jogged last Tuesday in this class after dropping out of the New York Sire Stakes program and gets another chance at the level tonight. (3) ZOES LUCKY GUY comes down from Canada into the Lance Hudson barn after a private purchase. The time off is a bit of a concern, but he was sharp at Rideau Carleton and is one of just two 4-year-olds in here. (1) A B COLLINS moves inside on the gate this time after overcoming post seven to finish third a week ago.
Race 4 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) MARLBANK ROAD had things his own way on the front last week but couldn't finish it off in the lane. It's more prevalent in Thoroughbreds, but I do think sometimes Standardbreds can also "bounce" off a big mile like he had two back. I'll look for him to get the job done here. (5) NEXT BIG THING came to life in a major way in another NW4 division a week ago, romping to a facile victory. He'll make it hard on the others if he's that good again. (4) CARRYTHETORCHMAN has hit the board in all three of his chances in this class and is reunited with Marcus Miller.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(7) STELLAR YANKEE will have to deal with an outside post, but I like his last three races at Pocono in their NW4 class and meets up with a beatable group. (1) AIR GUITAR drops out of stakes company to start in an overnight race for the first time in a while and landed to the pole position, too. (4) FOOLISH PROPHET finished with interest from off-the-pace last Tuesday in his initial try here after shipping in from Kentucky.
Race 6 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(6) CODY HANOVER ships in from Scioto Downs and into the Bongiorno barn. His form is solid enough, too, so I'll use. (4) GAMBLINGTERROR has hit the board in three straight and four of his last five. His history says he's more of an underneath type than a win candidate, and that's what I'll do. (7) CRUNCH HANOVER was very good against NW6's here before giving the Hempt and PA Stallion Series a try.
Race 7 - NW15250L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/NW9 Pace
(7) LEVINE is probably risky as he makes his first start back after a layoff, but he was very good in a qualifier at the Meaodwlands on 9-11, and the top two finishers out of that event both came back to race extremely well at The Big M on Saturday night. (2) AFLAME HANOVER picks up Marcus Miller this time and might just be too classy for this group, especially given his fifth-place finish to Allywag Hanover two back at Pocono. (6) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE found his form early last month at Harrah's Philadelphia and has kept it going since then, including back-to-back wins at Yonkers.
Race 8 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) BOLT POWER races on Lasix for the second time and dominated a group of New York Excelsior A Series foes at Yonkers when he was last here on 8-13. (2) SOLID ALIBI has finished off the board just once in his last six efforts and gets some post relief this week. (4) STOP STARING put together a good enough campaign to make the New York Sire Stakes final, but none of his half-mile track efforts really stand out, and he made a break in the final. That makes me want to go against him, especially since he'll be well-backed.

Race 9 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(1) LINNYCALLEDFRANKIE gained spots and ground in the last quarter from post seven a week ago and now gets significant relief in that department by starting from post one. (2) HIPPESTCATINTOWN won in his debut for the Bongiornos over NW4's on August 31 but has had to settle for underneath results in his class. Maybe Joe will put him on the lead this time. (7) MAJOR BEAN is another horse on the card exiting the New York Sire Stakes final. Sometimes the switch to overnight company is all a horse needs to find the winner's circle, and he makes his third start out of the Cory Stratton barn tonight.
