2023 MEET STATS: 338 - 961 / $1,680.70 (-$241.30) BEST BETS: 53 - 89 / $172.40 (-$5.60) BEST BET: HP XANADU (4th) SPOT PLAY: ROCK DIAMONDS N (6th) Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (3) MIKI THE CLOWN broke before the start two back and was distanced, but that effort was sandwiched between two powerful wins; I'll assume that was just a fluke. DiDomenico trainee faces much of the same here and can brush and crush or grind the leaders down. (1) CHUPPAH ON has great tactical speed so that puts her in the mix week-in and week-out. She's likely the one to catch. (4) BOLT OF BEAUTY gets Stratton in the bike tonight for Erv Miller and while she's unproven with this type she does seem fast enough to compete. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) FEARFUL INTENT has had to deal with three bad posts in his last three starts and was unable to get involved. Tonight he drops in class and moves all the way to the rail. Brennan picks up the drive and he figures to be aggressively handling this 4YO. (4) HICKFROMFRENCHLICK also drops to face a bit softer and the Schnittker trainee is probably fastest in here, but needs to offer a little more in the late stages. (2) SAVE ME A DANCE finished well last week while never a factor and will be closer to the front tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (1) LITTLEBEARCAT gets major post relief in her second start for the Bako barn and she picks up leading driver Bartlett; mare deserves every opportunity to run down the speedy (4) FEELIN RED HOT, who is a proven winner and has been for years, but can't fully be trusted to make it to the wire. (5) SHOTGUN PERSUASION is unfortunately drawn outside her main competition which severely limits her chances but she may be able to rally for a piece. Race 4: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (2) HP XANADU may be the claim of the year as she looks to take her fifth straight as the odds-on chalk. (6) BELLADONNA GIRL A has speed and the right driver to utilize it; if Bartlett can fire her to the front then release the favorite she'll have a legit shot to upset. (3) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX had had a couple of dull performances recently but she's right back in the box and is classy enough to turn things around and land a board spot. Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (6) LOOKATMYART returns from a stint up at Saratoga and now finds her way into the Engblom barn, which means Bartlett gets the call. Mare has plenty of local experience (with moderate success) and is worth a long look here at her 20/1 morning line. (2) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE has been on an extended form spree and now moves into the Dicostanzo barn via claim; these connections will look to win back-to-back races tonight at odds-on. (1) WILDCAT ANTONIA was a winner when last at this $20K level and she gets Brennan back in the bike (with Joe B on #2); she is a bit erratic, however. Race 6: NW18551 in last 5 starts Pace (4) ROCK DIAMONDS N drops to face softer and gets a bit of an improved post. Bongiorno veteran finds a good spot to hustle to the front and should prove tough to catch. (3) FEELIN WESTERN also gets some class and post relief and looks like a live player for the Strattons. (1) BENHOPE RULZ N went down the road for the score last week and lands the rail again looking to double up against better. Race 7: 3-5YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace (7) FREQUENT IMAGE has been super over the last month or so and though he was collared at the wire last week it was a classy rival who beat him. Alexander trainee moves into the age-restricted NW's class and will be very tough assuming he makes the lead. (1) ALL CLASS has been solid racing in PaSS events and even won a split of the Tompkins stake back in July. Three back he was a close second from a similar spot. (3) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR failed to deliver at odds-on last start; good news is the price now goes way up on this Burke import. Race 8: 2-5YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace (2) PAGE SIX crushed a much softer field last week at Monticello and overall the 2YO has shown flashes of ability. He figures to be a healthy price in a field with some shaky favorites. (4) LAZ is clearly the one to beat, but he's also just 1 for 16 lifetime and has burned money here in the past. (5) LOUIE HANOVER finished well off an early break last week and showed good speed in his prior efforts; Bartlett picks up the drive on the Bako trainee. Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) GROOVY JOE is loaded with back class and he woke up in a big way last out at Pocono with that 1:49 4/5 score. Veteran is the most logical in here, but will offer a short price. (3) SEVEN HUNDRED has to face more seasoned foes after graduating out of the straight NW lifetime conditions; he looks like the biggest threat to the top choice. (2) MR PERFECT N looks like he'll be saving ground close up and should have something to offer late. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace Tough race here. (6) MC ANGEL has been a live player in all recent starts at this level and despite only one win on the season he seems overdue to take one. Mare always offers a price and is 20/1 here. (2) SALE EL SOL has closed crisply in her last two and seems to get along well with Marohn. (7) ALWAYS B MIMI is a perfect three-for-three since the Engblom claim and now she makes a jump to the $50K level. Doesn't seem impossible, especially if Bartlett gets her out of the gate well. Race 11: NW10201 in last 5 starts Pace (4) DRAGONONTHEBEACH likely needed last week's start after being on the shelf for three months and he figures to have more to offer tonight. (6) MR DS ROCK has back class and was a winner when last at this level; veteran has flashed early speed in the past. (1) DPREALORDEAL has hit the board in three of his last four and should do so again with a smooth trip from the rail. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on Twitter! @drfharnessmatt]
