Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 9/15

MEET STATS: 157 - 464 / $818.70 (-$109.30)
BEST BETS: 25 - 44 / $78.60 (-$9.40)
Best Bet: TECHTOR HANOVER (6th)
Spot Play: BLUE AND BOLD (2nd)
Race 1: NW 2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(1) CHART TOPPER was a decent second last out at Ocean Downs in a minor stake after being used early to secure the pocket trip. Filly should be in line for a similar journey tonight from this starting spot. (4) SO NICE HANOVER was Bartlett's choice for the Andrew Harris barn and she does have a Big M win to her credit but it seems she needs to show a bit more late stamina. (2) MAJOR NIGHT OUT has hit the board in her last two with Lachance catch-driving and he's in the bike again from a good post; player.
Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) BLUE AND BOLD was confidently handled to victory two back with Stratton driving but followed that up with another break last week at Pocono. Obviously if he minds his manners he can win. (4) ZOOMING has clearly lost some zip off his fastball but he should still be competitive versus this type. (2) EXPLOSIVE trotted evenly last week for another board spot and a top-three finish should be in the works again.
Race 3: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
Pat Lachance trainees can sometime be hard to gauge in these conditioned races but (1) WESTMONT Z TAM has shown significant improvement in her last three out of town and she ships in to a very live spot here. (3) MCNUGGET took plenty of money in her local debut but broke in the final turn after chasing uncovered; I suppose she deserves another chance. (2) GABBY TABBY hails from the live Erv Miller barn and she figures to be close to the pace throughout.
Race 4: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(3) KEYSTONE HONOR has hit the board in all 11 of her starts this year and he qualified back effectively coming off an injured scratch. Veteran is clearly the one to beat but is tough to take at odds-on. (7) PREACHER OLLIE was an upset winner last out and he figures to be a good price once again for a small barn that's had some recent success. Let’s see if somehow Dube can get him into play. (6) WESTERN BEACHBOY has some class and hails from the live DiDomenico barn with Brennan driving but he's got zero current form.
Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) DOCTOR BUTCH has shown some renewed energy recently and I like the switch here to Bartlett; he struggles sometimes keeping up at certain points in the mile but maybe these fresh hands can help keep his mind on business. (3) WALKINSHAW N gets Stratton back in the bike returning locally for Lance Hudson and should hit well here. (1) ART SCENE drops in class for the third straight start and he draws the best post again.
Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) TECHTOR HANOVER was aggressively handled last start as expected when dropped to this bottom level but he couldn't seal the deal. Veteran has beaten tons better than these in the past and I have to figure he'll find a way to be victorious here. (7) ZIGGY SKY lands another poor post but he fits nicely here and could sneak into the number at a healthy price. (2) LONE RAIDER has looked a touch better in his last few races.
Race 7: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(8) CONTROL TOWER makes his first start in over 10 months and he did look better in that recent second qualifier at Freehold; he can crush these if (and that's a big 'if') he's ready to go. (2) CHACHING HANOVER tired from the pocket last out chasing a fast back half but he should be right near the front again from this spot. (5) CECIL CASANOVA was Bartlett's choice of four in here.
Race 8: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(3) LOOKATMYART was a winner here two back and followed that up with a solid effort upstate in an Excelsior A event; Buter is back driving and she deserves a long look in this competitive event. (4) ANNE BONNEY N moved to the Paul Fusco barn two back and showed solid improvement; she looks for three straight. (5) ACROBATTA also comes into this race in solid form for Andrew Harris and Bartlett sticks with her.
Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) CAVIART REAGAN was surprisingly aggressively handled and sprung the upset the last time Bartlett drove; leading driver is back in the bike again and we may see similar tactics. (2) MILITARY MASTER A gets major post relief, goes back to Stratton and he'll attract plenty of attention from the faithful looking to bail out on the evening. (7) TYMAL PEACEMAKER has cycled back to solid form for Lachance and he's capable of sneaking into the number.
