MEET STATS: 125 - 357 / $679.40 (-$34.60)
BEST BETS: 18 - 32 / $57.50 (-$6.50)
Best Bet:
TEST OF FAITH (7th)
Spot Play: SO AMAZING (3rd)

Race 1 - Excelsior A - 2YO Fillies Pace

(2) ABBY ROSE debuted in the NYSS and certainly didn't disgrace herself then whipped a field of Excelsiors; Stalbaum homebred looks for three straight overall. (5) ROLL ON MAMA also found the waters a bit deep in the NYSS but looks like she'll have a solid season at this level; Stratton drives. (3) CARRINGTON came from off the pace to win up at Tioga; MacDonald drives again for the Schnittker barn and this filly looks to have a live chance.

Race 2 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(7) ANNAPOLIS HALL seems to be quickly running out of excuses but the veteran finds a very questionable field here and I'll give him one more chance despite the poor post. Both (3) CAN DO and (5) KING CAST have had plenty of success here in the past and either is capable of awakening.

Race 3 - Excelsior A - 2YO Fillies Pace

(1) SO AMAZING broke last out when dropped to this Excelsior level but she raced okay versus better on debut off two nice qualifiers; Bartlett's choice. (4) I SAY NO MORE has shown moderate success racing close to the pace in her two career efforts; Marcus Miller will likely have her on the move early. (7) DRESDEN finds a tough spot for her debut but the Chris Ryder trainee showed nice late pace in her two morning trials.

Race 4 - Excelsior A - 2YO Fillies Pace

(5) ITZPAPALOTL keeps Bartlett in the bike for the Lorentzon barn, which has been well documented as a positive angle, and she could be decent value in this wide-open Excelsior division. (1) CHEERS FOR CHIPS comes into this race off a solid grinding score at Tioga and now the Erv Miller trainee draws best; obvious big chance here but she'll likely be overbet off that effort. (7) MAJOR LOVER has done nothing wrong in her brief career but the only problem here for the Schillaci trainee is the post; helps the price, however.

Race 5 - Excelsior A - 2YO Fillies Pace

(5) ROLL WITH SHORTY was obviously more prepared in that second qualifier and we've seen this barn have plenty of live ones recently (though with more seasoned stock). I'm just taking a stab here in a race where I have little opinion. (1) GEORGIE was Buter's choice from the best post coming off a couple of decent efforts. (4) ARIANNA GRANDEO has a recency edge having raced just a few days ago at The Meadowlands.

Race 6 - NYSS - 2YO Fillies Pace

(7) ALBERGITA HANOVER arrives off a monster "brush and crush" score up at Tioga and that's two solid efforts for the Toscano trainee to start off her promising career. Let's see if Zeron can generate some early speed to avoid getting away last from this tough post. (4) EASY TO PLEASE was a nice winner right off the bad then had a tough trip in her second start; she may have a tactical edge on the top one. (5) SUMMER RAE has shown some live moves and versatility in her brief career.

Race 7 - NYSS - 2YO Fillies Pace

(1) TEST OF FAITH overcame early trouble and paced home steadily from there, chasing the winning (5) THINK OF GALAXIES in the process. Marohn, Jr. will likely be looking to control these from the outset with the Pelling trainee. The latter looked good in a morning session at The Meadowlands and was rewarded with that lucrative Tioga win. Let's see if she can continue to progress. (3) DC BATGIRL tuned up with a jogola score versus overnight foes over the half at Saratoga but she needs to show more sustainability late versus this type.

Race 8 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) SUNKEN TREASURE returns locally with needed class and post relief for a barn that's been going well. (5) DURANT is lightly raced the last couple of seasons but he's got back class and has beaten better than these in the past. (3) ALTA LEROY N gets Lachance back in the bike coming off a miscue and he'll take money but doesn't seem particularly reliable.

Race 9 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(7) KASEY JOHN A came up just shy last out at Harrington and was facing tons better in prior; anything from the Jim King, Jr. barn must be respected. (1) ALEX TYE sat the rail and paced home steadily upon arrival and he should be able to work out a live trip from this spot. (5) ST LADS NEPTUNE has been a major disappointment but he tries a new barn (for the same owner) and picks up Bartlett.
