Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 8/30

Matt Rose|Aug 29, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 277 - 814 / $1,394.00 (-$234.00)

BEST BETS: 42 - 76 / $169.20 (+$17.20)

Best Bet: COVERED BRIDGE (7th)

Spot Play: STATE SENATOR (1st)

Race 1: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(3) STATE SENATOR was much-improved at a big price last start, before all the money was refunded. Devita trainee faces much of the same here from a comparable post and a similar effort can get it done again. (4) EXOTIC SAND has been caught up in some strange races recently but the fact remains that he's been rock-solid and deserves a close look, despite losing regular driver Stratton. (5) COLD CREEK FELIPE has been unable to seal the deal recently but still remains a viable option from this midpack spot.

Race 2: 3-4YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(5) AUSSIE HANOVER ships in from Philly and meets a very soft field, plus he gets a big driver upgrade to Bartlett. Youngster shows some competitive lines from Mohawk a couple of months back. (7) SHARKY BEAR rallied for a small share last start and the Burke trainee is stuck outside again. Does he show some more speed tonight? (3) JITTERBUG FLIP rallied mildly for third last out but he's been off at big odds in all recent and now figures to take plenty of money. Tough to take at just 1 for 24 lifetime (though I love the name!).

Race 3: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(7) ROCK THE DEVIL dominated at this level two back with Bartlett driving; only problem here is the post but with a good getaway he's more than capable of handling these. (2) SOUTHWIND PETYR has been rounding into form at Philly and he did go 3 for 9 here last year. (4) PACE N PRIDE N broke last week but he's right back in and could land a share.

Race 4: 3-5YO NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace

(4) ROLL WITH THE FLOW has done good work in the NYSS this season and shouldn't have to work all that hard to handle these overnight foes. (6) KINGSVILLE is a speedy son of Huntsville who has also mostly been facing state-breds this year for Dowse. (3) BUTTER UP ships in from Pocono where he's had a couple of recent wins with Braxton Boyd driving; he can land a share with a smooth trip.

Race 5: 3-5YO F&M NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(1) ADDISON SEELSTER ships down from Mohawk Park off a recent win for the Gillis barn and I'm sure they think he'll be a good fit here over the half-miler. Filly gets to land inside as she meets the NW2 also-eligible condition. (8) SOMESWEETSOMEWHERE comes off a wire-to-wire score and is the most accomplished in here but she draws worst. I have faith Bartlett will get her away from the gate in good order. (2) SO FIA LOLITA was a good second last week.

Race 6: 3-4YO F&M NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(4) KILEE ROCKS ships in from Pocono for Erv Miller off a win in their NW2 condition and she's shown good speed in most recent efforts; I expect Marcus to be forwardly placed with this filly. (5) ROLL WITH SHORTY made up good ground last start and just missed with Braxton driving; she should be a nice price option in here. (3) FOX VALLEY CACHET is 11 for 16 in the money for Lachance but with just one win and she's also missed a bit of time; proceed with caution.

Race 7: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) COVERED BRIDGE has elevated his game recently for Burke while facing a bit softer at Pocono and he had a couple of good efforts in the Borgata a few months ago. (2) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH is back at the level where he is most effective and he returns to Bartlett while getting major post relief. (4) DELIGHTFUL TERROR has been a fringe player recently at the $75K claiming level for Gillis/Stratton; maybe he'll fare better here with this type.

Race 8: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(2) VELOCITY MCSWEETS was a well-rated winner last out versus similar and she's been a consistent player for an extended period of time; Kakaley drives again and she gets top billing. (6) LOOKATMYART may need a little bit of help from this spot but it's hard to question her current form; she also goes for two straight. (1) CAVIART CHERIE has come up a bit short in her last couple but she gets another crack from the rail.

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) ROCK LIGHTS dropped to this level for his last start, took all the money but could not sustain his uncovered run; Stratton is back in the bike and he seems way overdue. (2) ABERDEEN HANOVER has never been a prolific winner and that's continued in five starts off the Dowse claim; veteran drops in class and can clearly show more. (1) ALOTBETTOR N was scratched out of his last start when he fell before the race but he's right back in so I assume he's fine; he's been facing better in all recent and gets Braxton in the bike tonight.
