Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 7/7

Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 111 - 317 / $594.60 (-$39.40)
BEST BETS: 15 - 27 / $49.80 (-$4.20)
Best Bet:
BARN HALL (2nd)
Spot Play: INQUIRING MIND (3rd)

Race 1 – Excelsior "A" - 2YO C&G Trot

(2) KASHA TICKET makes his career debut for Dan Daley, who year in and year out always has well-mannered, competitive stock on the NYSS circuit. Without much to go on in this field of firsters, expect this guy to be close to the front throughout. (5) ROYALLY RAISED gets Zeron in the bike for the Ducharme barn and while he shows a break in his latest morning trial his initial appearance was decent. (6) CHAPOLIER finished well in his two qualifiers for Purple Haze/Smedshammer; only problem is the poor draw.

Race 2 - Excelsior "A" - 2YO C&G Trot

(1) BARN HALL clearly looks ready to roll off those two qualifiers and now gets Jeff Gregory for his debut; short price looming. (5) SEVENSHOTSABOURBON qualified effectively for smaller-profile connections on the NYSS scene. (2) WHAT A PITTSTOP draws best for Dan Daley and we'll see how talented this son of the lesser-known sire Whataworkout is. (4) SEVEN NATION ARMY broke in that qualifier but the Schnittker trainees are usually good over the half-milers.

Race 3 – NYSS - 2YO C&G Trot

(1) INQUIRING MIND was an easy winner in his qualifier up at Tioga for owner/trainer/driver Verlin Yoder (of Natural Herbie fame). As long as he can negotiate the tricky first turn he can take these the distance. (2) BLACK TIE BASH has the benefit of a pari-mutuel race, where he was second best at odds-on at Mohawk Park; obvious player for the Blake Macintosh barn. (4) AHUNDREDDOLLARBILL is another Dan Daley trainee seemingly ready for action off a sharp qualifier.

Race 4 - NYSS - 2YO C&G Trot

(4) LIMITLESS WINNER ships east for the Jeff Cullipher stable off two nice-looking qualifiers where the Credit Winner offspring finished up with sub-:27 kickers; Colt picks up Callahan for his career bow. (2) SPECIAL PROSECUTOR already has a pari-mutuel win registered and obviously looms large here. (5) SUPER CRUISER gets Zeron in the bike for Ducharme; worth considering, as is (1) CSCHAPETERONE, who hails from the sharp Erv Miller barn.

Race 5 - Excelsior "A" - 2YO C&G Trot

(4) CREVIOR didn't trot in a particularly fast time in his qualifier, going evenly in 2:05 for Smedshammer, but those who don't put that much stock in final times could consider this Credit Winner colt on connections alone in this wide-open affair, especially if the price is good. (7) CARL SPACKLER has to contend with the outermost post but seems ready to go off that second morning trial for Erv and Marcus Miller. Fans of the movie Caddyshack will be taking a look at this one. (2) TORREY PINES is another Dan Daley trainee on the program who’s seemingly ready for action.

Race 6 - NYSS - 2YO C&G Trot

(6) SEVENSHADESOFGREY looked good preparing at Gaitway for Burke and was a solid second best to a sharp rival in his pari-mutuel debut at Pocono; Chapter Seven offspring deserves top billing off that effort. (3) AMBASSADOR HANOVER sprinted home in :27 at The Meadowlands for Ake Svanstedt and he will undoubtedly be ready for action here. (4) STEEL looks to have some early ability for Andy and Julie Miller. (1) CREEDMORE lands inside for Yoder off an even qualifier but he lands in a pretty tough split here; use underneath.

Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

They snuck an overnight pacing race on us here… (1) MAJOR CROCKER A hadn’t been at his best before the shutdown but perhaps he appreciated the time off. Dilloian trainee lands the best post and appears to have too much class for these. (5) POWER DREAMING N raced pretty well last start over at The Meadowlands and perhaps he can build off that effort. (6) TEXICAN N is winding down his solid career as he inches towards the million dollar mark; veteran did flash early speed last out at a big price. (4) MY SPIRIT SOARS has been off since March 2 but others from his barn have returned ready for action.

Race 8 - NYSS - 2YO C&G Trot

(2) FIX IT UP went a solid winning effort in his Meadows qualifier and he ships east to join the Julie Miller barn; good post makes him a contender in this evenly matched and hard-to-figure event where they are all in with a chance. (4) UNWRITTEN CHAPTER debuts for the Noel Daley barn and Andrew McCarthy sticks with the drive; Chapter Seven colt should be ready to go faster under the lights. (1) CREDIT CON debuts off two winning wire-to-wire qualifiers for the team of Todd and Tyler Buter. (3) AVEL debuts for Dan Daley off an interesting qualifier, where he was interfered twice yet still won by open lengths.
