Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(6) CAUSWAY shipped in from Northfield for Clegg and battled stubbornly in the front end before tiring; he moves to a new barn tonight, gets Kakaley in the bike and faces a pretty soft field of bottom-level claimers. Why is he 20/1 on the morning line? (3) LANAS DESIRE has been atrocious for these connections since he was claimed for $20K but he actually had a little forward progress last week before breaking. (2) BARGAIN SHOPPER is no bargain on the ML but from this spot he's an obvious contender.

Race 2: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(1) THOR AND DR JONES was erratic leaving into the first turn and took a while to make the lead so maybe he can be excused for tiring. I'll give him another chance. (4) NORTHERN BACCARAT has three runner-up finishes in four seasonal starts up at Mohawk and he ships into the live Stafford barn; player. (5) RAILIN JENNINGS was a pocket-sitting winner in a maiden event; he faces a bit better here and Holland sticks with the Erv Miller trainee.

Race 3: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(1) BARRYWHITE HANOVER had an impossible trip from post eight last out but he should be much better tonight moving all the way inside. (6) ICANGOGO was a good second in his last and he should be a big player here. (2) MIKI U SO FINE paced evenly as no threat upon arrival and he moves in a couple of slots tonight and could round out the Tri.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) HITMAN HILL has a spotty record this year but the qualifier a couple of weeks back was good and this Jenn Bongiorno trainee could be ready to roll. (1) VELOCITY KOMODO finally lands an inside post and the DiDomenico trainee should have more offer. (3) ARQUE HANOVER should be able to carve out a share at this lower level.

Race 5: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(4) SOUTHWIND PETYR ships in off an easy 1:50 1/5 win at The Meadowlands and note three back he was very game in defeat in a NYSS test at Buffalo so the half-mile shouldn't be a problem (1) WELL DONE SON was a solid second last out and should be a player from the rail. (7) MAD MAN HILL has been looking good recently at Philly but the only problem here is the post; should help his price, however.

Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) FLAMING FLUTTER N closed with a purpose last week for a barn that's been showing much more life recently. Improved post gives Bartlett some tactical options. (1) MACINTOSH N has still proven to be competitive with this type and the Vallee trainee has good speed from the innermost post. (4) VIRGIN STORM isn't exactly a winning machine but he is a steady check-earner.

Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) DELIGHTFUL TERROR has rallied willingly in his last two since arriving locally and he's likely to be a bit overlooked in the wagering with some bigger names signed on. (1) SKIP TO MY LOU failed as the chalk last week but he gets another crack from the rail. (5) GRAY DRAGON has been firing on all cylinders lately out of town; can't fault anyone for playing this 4-year-old.

Race 8: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(3) GAMBLINGTERROR has taken two straight in game fashion and gets another crack at this NW6 level from a good starting spot. (2) CRUNCH HANOVER was a well-rated winner here two back and followed that up with a big 1:50 4/5 effort in a lower-level PA stake at The Meadows; Toscano trainee is very logical here. (1) FAR BETTER has been just that since moving back to the Devita barn. He's got "1's" all over the place from up at Monti.

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) JOJO’S PLACE tried closing off cover into a rated pace in his local debut and didn't fire; he moves in a couple of spots and may have a tactical edge on his main rivals. (6) PAT STANLEY N had no chance last week from the eight hole but he finished with good pace; he'll be more involved tonight. (2) VANQUISHED N faces better tonight and I would be surprised if he won, but he can certainly round out the bottom of the ticket.

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) LETS HAVE ANOTHER seems to have found a spot where he can head to the front and control the action. (1) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER also has good early speed from the pole position; interesting to see how aggressively he’s driven by Lachance. (2) GINGRAS BEACH looks like the other main contender here by virtue of the inside post draw.

Race 11: NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace

(6) GARDYS LEGACY A was a solid third last week but unfortunately he ran into a couple of monsters occupying the top two spots; it should be his turn to shine tonight. (3) SUMTHINBOUTIM has some ugly recent lines but they were all from bad posts; move inside will help his cause. (2) DIAMONDBEACH was uncovered last out and that’s probably not his preferred trip.

Race 12: NW10501 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) KEYSTONE PHOENIX has some good recent efforts against better than these and he was a winner when last in with this type. (3) HIGHLAND TARTAN made an uncharacteristic break last week; prior form was fine. (1) ALTA LEROY N gets post relief and should hit the ticket with a smooth trip.
