Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 7/5

MEET STATS: 209 - 646 / $1,066.90 (-$225.10)
BEST BETS: 33 - 59 / $136.30 (+$18.30)
Best Bet: BLUE HUNT (8th)
Spot Play: CAVIART CHERIE (1st)
Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(4) CAVIART CHERIE finished with plenty of pace last week but was a bit too far back; from this improved post the veteran will be much closer, perhaps even on the front end. (5) JOSSIE JAMES A blasted down the road but got leg-weary and was collared coming out of the same race as the top one.; prior start was a good closing effort and the sharp mare must be considered. (3) MAGICAL MISTRESS also came out of that same race last week and methodically got there; Bongiorno drives the Burke trainee tonight.

Race 2: NY Excelsior A 2YO C&G Pace
(2) EL YERNO broke in his initial morning trial but recovered decently then finished with a decent back half in his second qualifier; Mark Harder trainee draws well for career bow and has Zeron driving. (6) HEAVE HO looked good to go in his career debut but came up a touch short in that 1:54 2/5 mile at Tioga; Dave Miller drives again and needs to generate some early speed. (4) YOU OUGHTA KNOW could show more in his second start for NYSS veteran Dan Daley.

Race 3: 3-4YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(5) LOU'S BEACH was second best to an impressive winner in his local debut and the Toscano trainee looks like the one in here. (3) HP LIS SHADOW arrives from Mohawk, joins the Andrew Harris barn and gets Bartlett to drive; obviously worthy of a long look. (4) BUCKEYE EMERY gets a driver upgrade to Siegelman.
Race 4: NY Excelsior A 2YO C&G Pace
(6) TO THE HUNT was ready for action in his career debut as the Schnittker homebred dug in for the upset at Tioga; I'm confident that he's got the early speed to get into play from the outside post. (2) HOT SHOT JOE was also a sharp winner on debut and he has a post edge on his main rivals; likely favored to repeat. (4) HUNTING ZONE was bet down to 3/5 in his debut but faltered after an aggressive try; price now goes way up on this Lorentzon trainee.
Race 5: 2-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(2) THRESHOLD has been making live moves out of town and was a winner in a PA Stallion series event two back; Bongiorno trainee should be a good fit here. (7) MY MIKI BEACH just failed last start and he goes back to Bartlett tonight; he clearly has the early speed to overcome the post. (4) NORTHERN NETWORK has been picking up small shares of late and now gets a driver change to Dave Miller.
Race 6: NY Excelsior A 2YO C&G Pace
(2) HUMAN COCKTAIL kicked home in :27 3/5 to win his second qualifier at Pocono and he gets Bartlett in the bike for his career debut. (3) DEMON BOY was repelled as the odds-on choice in his first start upstate but it was a good try; Jenn Bongiorno trainee can build off that effort. (1) BOOZER had two good-looking qualifiers at Saratoga but failed to muster enough of a rally as the even-money choice on debut; Zeron drives again from the innermost post.
Race 7: NYSS 2YO Colt & Gelding Pace
(6) DUVAL STREET is two-for-two in morning trials for the top connections of Nifty Norman and Brian Sears; Huntsville offspring needs to navigate the outside post but could be strongest here. (3) LIVONJAXANDQUEENS showed willing improvement through his three qualifiers and that progression is usually what you want to see. (1) BEN SOLO was okay in his NYSS debut and looks best of those who already have a start.
Race 8: NYSS 2YO Colt & Gelding Pace
(1) BLUE HUNT sparkled in his career debut and will likely be heavily favored to repeat for his lower-profile connections; Andrew McCarthy is in to drive. (3) TRAIN STATION finished willingly behind a sharp front-end winner at Tioga and the Chris Ryder trainer figures prominently here with Dave Miller driving. (6) KID FROM THE BRONX was nipped by the top one after cutting the mile in his initial NYSS try and the Schnittker barn is always well-represented in the Empire State; how aggressive will MacDonald be at the outset?
Race 9: 3-5YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(2) CAMOUFLAGE MONEY was well-spotted with cover in his local debut and finished in :27 4/5 but didn't gain any ground; Toscano trainee was off some time before that start and perhaps he'll be a bit tighter tonight. (7) TWIN B DELUXE blew away a NW2 field when last at Yonkers and followed that up with a NYSS win; merits major consideration here despite the outside post. (1) HURRIKANE GEORGE was a solid second last week from a similar spot.

Race 10: NYSS 2YO Colt & Gelding Pace
(4) AMERICAN FLING was a sharp front-end winner in his NYSS debut and I suspect the strategy will be the same tonight. (3) ITS A ME MARIO chased the top one around the track in that race and these two figure to line up again; can the Shane Tritton youngster make up two lengths on the top one? (5) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA broke in his debut, not what you like to see, but his prior qualifier was good. He figures to trail from this spot and try to make up late ground.
Race 11: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) ALWAYS AND AGAIN found it hard to get involved in his last couple but three back was a solid winner in a NW15K pop-up event; I like that Bartlett picks up the drive tonight. (2) DIAMONDBEACH has tailed off a bit recently but finds a much better spot here. (4) MIKES Z TAM bumps up for Lachance while in very good form.
