Race 1: Pop-Up Leg #3 Pace

(4) HUNTING ZONE is drawn outside his main competition but it may not matter considering how sharp the Lorentzon trainee is. Note that two back he rallied from off the pace for second, home in :27 3/5. (2) LOUS THE ATTITUDE is an obvious contender (and likely favorite) moving back inside and returning to Bartlett. (3) ALL ALONE has steadily improved for the Bongiorno barn and was a close second last week.

Race 2: NYSS 2YO Filly Pace

(6) LEANNE'S CHOICE essentially cut her own mile from the pocket chasing a sizzling leader and she was able to narrow the gap and score nicely on debut. Erv Miller trainee has license to be even better in her second go-around. (3) PEACE TALKS came out of that same race at Saratoga and also finished well; Bartlett drives again for the Ryder barn. (4) I'M A BELIEVER raced well on that same NYSS night but her race went much slower. Mark Ford trainee will offer value based on that.

Race 3: Pop-Up Leg #3 Pace

(3) UP THE CREEK is two-for-two in this series and he'll be odds-on to take another. I don't think he's a mega lock but should take care of business. (1) FUGLEMAN gets needed post relief and is likely to sit the trip behind the favorite. (6) DELESTON was much better last week and he can be a late threat.

Race 4: NY Excelsior A 2YO Filly Pace

(3) SHINE ON SUSAN is a well-bred filly from good connections and her mom was a big earner as a 2YO for this barn. Those qualifiers were just ok but the fact that she was pointed to the Excelsior level appears to make her a live contender. (6) BRIDGE OF LOVE is another first-timer in here and she showed more activity in that second qualifier. (5) DELIVERED ON TYME paced a nice back half to win an Excelsior event upstate but doesn't figure to offer any value here.

Race 5: NY Excelsior A 2YO Filly Pace

(7) PEMBROKE BUBBLY has just been okay through two starts at this Excelsior level but she was more aggressively handled last start and the Mark Ford trainee was Stratton's choice; Take a look if she projects to be a healthy price. (1) TEMPVILLE was bet heavily in her career debut in the NYSS but broke, and now she's coming off a sick scratch but does face easier. Mixed feelings. (8) PETROL QUEEN is clearly the most accomplished here with two impressive wins but needs to navigate the eight hole with a driver who is less experienced locally than others.

Race 6: NYSS 2YO Filly Pace

(5) BRONX BARISTA was a runaway last start at Saratoga and gave way late after setting that :54 2/5 half. Schnittker trainee is obviously talented and can beat these if well-rated like her start two back. (2) FRESH LEGS also tired last out after setting a more sensible pace than the top choice and she clearly needs to show more late but could land a nice share with a smooth tracking trip. (6) DELIGHTVILLE didn't really fire in start #2 after a nice debut and she lands outside again.

Race 7: NY Excelsior A 2YO Filly Pace

(3) GOLDEN KRISP drops down to the Excelsior level despite two decent displays in the NYSS where she picked up some money. Kakaley drives again and she seems capable of capitalizing while facing softer talent. (1) CHERI'S CHOICE blew up the board in her Excelsior debut for John Nason and proved that was no fluke as she followed that up with another good race; dangerous. (4) ROLLING ON TRUTH is 3 for 3 on the board in her brief career.

Race 8: NYSS 2YO Filly Pace

(3) CAMERICAN closed a ton in her first three starts for the Burke barn and now that she lands a better post regular driver Stratton can have the American Ideal filly in play much earlier; I envision her sitting on a big effort. (2) SEA PEARL is perfect so far with two front-end wins for the Brittany Farms homebred, and the same strategy seems likely to be employed by new driver Zeron, as Bartlett opted off. (4) BLUE POINT broke at Monti two back but absolutely crushed last start at Saratoga. Bartlett staying with her over #2 is a big vote of confidence. Great matchup here.

Race 9: NY Excelsior A 2YO Filly Pace

Horses dropping from the NYSS to the Excelsior level is obviously a big angle, so (3) MIGHTY MACKIE fits the bill. Her two starts haven't been bad at all, so I expect her to lead the charge here with Brennan. (2) KJ HUNTRESS was a big upset winner out of the seven hole last start and these connections tend to do pretty well with their homebreds. (4) CHRIS'S CHOICE is the other logical one in here going for three straight. Check out the odds she went off in those wins. Oakes trainee should offer more value here.

Race 10: NY Excelsior A 2YO Filly Pace

(4) AMERICAN SILKS moves to a new barn and gets a big driver upgrade to Bartlett as she enters the NY-bred affairs. Already two-for-two in overnights she has the winning habit and that figures to bolster her confidence. (1) GANDY DANCER has been ok so far though she was a little short in her last two. Joe B picks up the drive tonight on the Bako trainee. In line for a good trip. (6) A FEW CHOICE WORDS is a Courtly Choice offspring who hails from that same barn and she's been live so far, especially after leaving the NYSS.
