MEET STATS: 116 - 333 / $610.80 (-$55.20)
BEST BETS: 17 - 29 / $55.30 (-$2.70)
Best Bet:
JUST JOSHING (1st)
Spot Play: IZZY DEMSKY (3rd)

Race 1 - Excelsior A - 2YO Filly Trot

(1) JUST JOSHING made an impressive career debut for Andy and Julie Miller up at Saratoga with a strong two-move effort at odds-on; Chapter Seven offspring only needs to negotiate the first turn cleanly and she should easily be able to control these. (2) ONE MARGARITA trotted a nice back half in her lone qualifier for Dan Daley and is likely ready for action. (4) YOU MAKE IT EASY arrives off some nondescript qualifiers but Bartlett driving anything for the Lorentzon barn deserves consideration.

Race 2 - Excelsior A - 2YO Filly Trot

(3) LADY GIDGET took some money from the eight hole in her career debut but jumped it off early; we've seen stock from the Okusko barn have success locally over the past few seasons and if she can behave herself here she may have something to offer at an overlay price. (6) MUSCLES TANGO was a winner in her first lifetime try with Brian Sears handling the Linda Toscano trainee; she's clearly the one to beat off that effort but will be a short price. (2) GOT THAT RIGHT transitions to the NY-bred scene after tiring in her career bow while facing overnight foes at Pocono; prior to that start the Erv Miller trainee did have a winning qualifier.

Race 3 - Excelsior A - 2YO Filly Trot

(5) IZZY DEMSKY gave the NYSS level a try on debut coming off a sharp morning trial but she broke and was out of it. Filly quickly drops to the Excelsior level for her high-profile connections (Sears/Melander/Courant). (4) LOLA BLU was well-backed for Team Miller but broke late while leading to the wire up at Saratoga. Obvious threat if she minds her manners (which will be a theme throughout the evening). (1) MARTINI EXPRESS is another coming off a miscue, but the winning qualifier prior suggests the talent is there.

Race 4 - Excelsior A - 2YO Filly Trot

(3) SOUTHWIND SINISTRA added the hobbles for her second qualifier and showed improvement while behaving herself; assuming continued progression she'll be close to the front end here and the price should be decent for this Dan Daley trainee. (1) ILUVWINEANDROSES certainly seems fast enough coming off her two initial starts and Bartlett should be familiar with this gal as it's the third consecutive week he's driving her. (5) WITH OR WITHOUT finally held together in that latest qualifier; can she build off that effort?

Race 5 - NYSS - 2YO Filly Trot

(1) SPLASH BLUE CHIP was a winner right off the bat for Svanstedt, going wire-to-wire up at Saratoga, holding rival (7) ITERATION at bay. She has a major post edge on that rival here which makes her the one to deny again. The latter was a very willing second on debut for Courant/Melander; talented Chapter Seven filly will be heard from. (5) AELA JAMIESON qualified nicely on the big track and was well-backed for Team Miller but broke; clearly she should not be listed at 20/1 on the morning line based on that; Take a long look at her.

Race 6 - NYSS - 2YO Filly Trot

(2) DESTINED TO DANCE raced very willingly in overnight action at Philly and followed that up with an open-length score in NYSS action; Butenschoen trainee faces some legit talent in here but has to be considered the one to beat. (4) IMBOSSIBLE is another prospect from the 3-headed monster of Sears/Melander/Courant who charged home to take her career debut at Saratoga. (7) ME THREE is saddled with a near-impossible task from the outerpost post but she's appeared well-behaved in limited action for Linda Toscano; small piece?

Race 7 - NYSS - 2YO Filly Trot

Looks like a lot of potential talent in this NYSS split. (4) INSURED AM S is the final Courant entrant on tonight's program and she's another one who has looked more than adequate in limited action, coming off a winning qualifier and second-place finish on debut; good midpack post should give Sears options and keep him out of potential trouble. (5) JULA SHINES ON powered home first-time out on the track in a morning session at The Big M then flashed good speed at both ends under Svanstedt's handling last out at Saratoga; I expect aggressive handling off the gate. Svanstedt barn-mate (2) BROAD STROKES gets the catch-driving Andy Miller in the bike off an effective qualifier. (1) BIG CITY PEARL moves all the way inside in her second start for owner/trainer/driver Verlin Yoder.

Race 8 - NW17500 in last 5 Pace

(5) SPEED MAN N prevailed off a tough trip to score at Pocono against lesser in his second U.S. start for Dilloian. Import could have another class or two in him. (1) MACHIATTO A was a solid second best from the eight hole last week for Team Bongiorno; now moves all the way inside. (6) ANTHEM N has been a bit of an underachiever for Tritton but he did upset two back at The Meadowlands. (4) WAR DAN DELIGHT N faces a bit better off three runner-up finishes in Pennsylvania.
