SPOT PLAY - KEYSTONE MICAH (2nd)
Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(5) THEREISAPACEFORUS goes for trainer Andrew Adamczyk after being claimed on 7-9 and came up just a neck short of winning two back. He also gets a new driver with Jason Bartlett taking the call. (4) NIHILATED TRUTH makes his third start after a layoff here and was third in a quick $12,500 claimer on the 7th of July. (1) WAR DADDY ships up from Harrah's Philadelphia having hit the board in his last three and should be involved given the early speed he showed down there.

Race 2 - NW2/25000LT / NW1/12500LT Drawn Inside Pace
(5) KEYSTONE MICAH is the lone 4-year-old in this field and is a newcomer into the Izzy Estrada barn. I've mentioned before he has a good knack with debut horses out of his stable, and I'll use him. (7) ARTIST BEST was on a run of on-the-board finishes at Pocono but had that stopped by post nine last Tuesday. He normally flashed speed over there and could definitely employ the same tactic here. (3) JOSE broke his maiden in his 17th attempt on the 29th of June at Monticello. I will include underneath in the hopes the light bulb will stay on for him after getting his picture taken for the first time.

Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(2) CHAMP CHARBEL ends a run of bad posts at Pocono by shipping in and getting the two-hole. I don't see anybody overly reliable in this field, so I'll go price hunting with this 4-year-old. (1) MAJOR SHOW is sure to attract plenty of attention after that rallying second-place effort last Tuesday. He did break coming to the wire in the event, so he'll obviously need to avoid a mistake. (5) NORTHERN BACCARAT starts for Paul Stafford for the second time and was a solid second on July 6. He's never won before but does show an ability to hit the board.
Race 4 - NW5000L5 Pace
(2) STAR SPEAKER was the sole horse driver Todd McCarthy was listed on when the program came out, and he remained on him after final changes were made. I have to think that means he's a live horse, and I'll swing. (1) HALF A BILLION sticks at the bottom level and moves all the way from post eight to the pole position. (4) AUDI HARE N posted his lone win in 2021 the one time he met up against NW5000L5's back in February.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) WELL DONE SON came in third a couple weeks back in this class. Southwind Petyr, who won that race, was a solid second in the New York Sire Stakes at Saratoga in a follow-up effort, and you can see the high percentage this horse's trainer has. (5) LINNYCALLEDFRANKIE has been up against the likes of 1:48 pacer South Beach Star and Meadowlands Pace finalist One Eight Hundred in recent lines, so I have to think this is a more reasonable spot. (1) JESSICAS BEACH BOY is a fresh claim for trainer Tom Milici, and he showed the ability to finish second versus NW4's back in late May. Let's see if the barn change doesn't help the lone 5-year-old in this event.
Race 6 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(1) ALOTBETTOR N tallied in his return to the Jenn Bongiorno barn on July 7, and I will look for him to double up. (2) OUR MAJORDAN A finally ended a lengthy losing skid by topping NW5000L5's on the 9th of July. This horse has a ton of back-class both Down Under and here in the States, so it wouldn't surprise me if he came back and won again after picking up some confidence. (7) SUMTHINBOUTIM retreats out of the NW8 class to race at this level. He does start from an outside post but has shown early speed in the past, and driver Austin Siegelman gets a chance with the Scott Di Domenico trainee since George Brennan isn't here tonight.
Race 7 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(2) GENTLEMANJIM II IE has had little chance in his last three due to outside draws. He gets significant post relief tonight, which could definitely put him back in the ballgame. (1) TIN ROOF RAIDER A is the likely favorite as he slides down from the NW15000L5 class off a third-place finish, capped off by a 27 and change final panel. (7) JOESSTAR OF MIA A shipped up on July 9 and stomped a field of NW7500L5's. He does step up tonight, but was a good second in the corresponding class to this one at Harrah's Philadelphia two back, and you have to respect the blast-out speed he's shown.
Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(6) DECISION DAY owns a pretty good history when he's shown up at Yonkers, and this should be a softer spot than those classes he's been racing in down in Pennsylvania. (2) ALTA LEROY N posted his last win when he competed against NW7500L5's back in early May and returns to the level here after being up against NW15000L5's and NW10000L5's since that triumph. (3) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING is another horse in this race getting to slide down from the NW10000L5's. He was a good second at long odds versus NW7500L5's on 6-18.
Race 9 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(6) PEPPER GUY polished off his qualifier last Tuesday at Harrah's Philadelphia in 26 and change. I think that signifies readiness, and this isn't the toughest group for this level. (2) CAMPORA N looks like he should be able to get back in the hunt tonight thanks to a combination of post and class relief. (3) ELWELL defeated NW10000L5's on the 17th of May at races at the level for the first time since then. He also gets reunited with Jordan Stratton.
Race 10 - NW15000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/NW9 Pace
(2) OUR MAX PHACTOR N faces what looks like a softer group of foes in this class compared to last Monday and also moves inside from post seven. (3) BETTOR THAN SPRING starts from an improved post after having the six-hole and the seven-hole in his two latest tries at this level. That 26 4/5 final panel two back catches my eye. (1) SILAS SEELSTER has a similar profile to my top choice as he usually finds the NW15000L5's too tough, but hooks up with a field he might be able to be more competitive against here.

Race 11 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(5) HIGHLANDBEACHSBEST made the MGM Grand Messenger Stakes final earlier this month but then had no shot at the big money from post seven or in a subsequent race at the Meadowlands that went in 47 and change. This should be a spot where he can make some noise. (1) SHINY BLACK BEAMER got along well with Joe Bongiorno back in June as they finished second at this level twice, and they're reunited here. (4) GAMBLINGTERROR prevailed against NW6 foes three back and gets a good deal of post relief tonight, moving in from the eight-hole.
Race 12 - NW15000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/NW9 Pace
(3) ON THE VIRG continues to work his way down the class ladder tonight. He's paced last quarters in 27 and a piece in his last three and was able to post a third-place finish in the Preferred on 6-21, so I prefer him over the other contenders in this race. (4) SANTAFE'S COACH gives the NW15000L5 level a second chance from a much-improved post. He did gain spots and ground last Monday from the eight-hole. (1) WALKINSHAW N has won two straight races from the pole position, and he starts from the inside again tonight. He didn't have much luck when he was against NW15000L5's earlier this year, but he should be full of confidence right now.
